Abstract

バイオフロック技術を導入した養殖システムにおいて、養殖水の水質(C/N比)の制御を容易に行うことができる養殖システムを提供する。 バイオフロックを用いた養殖システムであって、養殖水槽に担体に硝化細菌を担持した硝化細菌固定化材を備える養殖システム。前記硝化細菌固定化材が、通水性を有する容器に詰められ、前記エアインジェクター及び/又は前記曝気装置の下流に配置されることが好ましい。

Description

養殖システム及び水産生物の生産方法
 本発明は、水産生物の養殖を行う閉鎖循環式の養殖システムに関する。
 陸上に構築された養殖水槽内において魚介類や甲殻類の育成を行う養殖システムについては、従来、様々な設備や装置が開発されており、例えば、特許文献1には無端環状の回流型の水槽と、水槽内の養殖水を槽外へ取り出して所定の状態に調整したのち水槽へ戻す水管理装置と、水管理装置から送給される処理水を曝気する曝気水路と、一定方向の循環水流を生じさせる気流装置と、給餌装置などを備えた養殖設備が報告されている。
 一方、バイオフロック技術を導入した陸上養殖システムが注目されており、エビの養殖を中心に東南アジア等での実証が行われ、日本においても導入が進められている(例えば、非特許文献1)。
 バイオフロック技術において、養殖水槽には、有機物である飼料の給餌によって炭素と窒素が供給されるが、炭素と窒素は摂餌されない未利用分の飼料(残餌)や糞尿の形で養殖水槽に残存する。炭素は、二酸化炭素として、養殖水槽中の水に溶け込み、過剰分は水から放出されるが、窒素は、硝化細菌による残餌や糞尿の分解物として、無機物のアンモニア(NH4)の形態で水の中に溶解し、アンモニアは硝化細菌の硝化作用で、亜硝酸(NO2)、硝酸(NO3)へと順次酸化される。養殖水中の有機物を加え、養殖水中の炭素量を増やすと、炭素/窒素比(C/N比)が高くなり、バイオフロックを形成する硝化細菌が、窒素を養分として増殖する。

 バイオフロック技術においては、C/N比を制御することにより、養殖水槽の水質を維持することが可能である。すなわち、バイオフロック技術において、C/N比が低くなると硝化細菌による有機物の分解速度が大きくなり、アンモニアや亜硝酸の発生量が増加し、逆にC/N比が高いと、有機物の分解速度は小さくなり、窒素が硝化細菌に取り込まれ、アンモニアや亜硝酸の発生量が減少する。
 養殖対象の水産生物や使用するバイオフロックを構成する硝化細菌によって理想的なC/N比が存在する。一般にC/N比が低いと硝化細菌による有機物分解が速くなり、有害なアンモニアや亜硝酸が増加する。逆にC/N比が高いと硝化細菌による有機物の分解が遅くなり、微生物は窒素成分を養分としてタンパク質を形成して増殖する(これによりバイオフロック量も増加する)。窒素成分が養分として消費されるため、アンモニアや亜硝酸の発生が抑制される。
 有害なアンモニアや亜硝酸が過剰に発生することを確実に抑制するために、C/N比を高く設定する。この場合、養殖水槽のバイオフロックを構成する硝化細菌が増加しすぎて、養殖水槽のバイオフロック自体が過剰量になるという問題があった。その結果、余剰のバイオフロックの回収頻度を上げる必要があり、高コスト化の一因となり、養殖水の交換を頻繁に行うことを前提としていない、閉鎖循環式の養殖システムにおける利点を損なっていた。
 このように、従来のバイオフロックを用いた養殖設備において、硝化作用にはバイオフロックに含まれる硝化細菌が使用されているが、バイオフロックの量を制御することによる水中のアンモニア態窒素の量の制御は現実的には困難であるのが実状である。
 かかる状況下、本発明の目的は、バイオフロック技術を導入した閉鎖循環式の養殖システムにおいて、養殖水の水質(C/N比)の制御を容易に行うことができる養殖システムを提供することである。
 本発明者は、上記課題を解決すべく鋭意研究を重ねた結果、下記の発明が上記目的に合致することを見出し、本発明に至った。
 すなわち、本発明は、以下の養殖システムの発明に係るものである。
 <1> バイオフロックを用いた養殖システムであって、養殖水槽に担体に硝化細菌を担持した硝化細菌固定化材を備える養殖システム。
 <2> 前記硝化細菌固定化材における担体が、発泡性担体である、前記<1>に記載の養殖システム。
 <3> 前記養殖水槽に、前記養殖水槽内の水流を循環させるためのエアインジェクターと、養殖水を排出し空気を混合させるための曝気装置と、を備え、前記硝化細菌固定化材が、通水性を有する容器に詰められた、前記<1>または<2>に記載の養殖システム。
 <4> 前記硝化細菌固定化材が詰められた通水性を有する容器が、前記エアインジェクター及び/又は記曝気装置の下流に配置された、前記<3>に記載の養殖システム。
 <5> 前記養殖水槽に、水車、給餌機、及び断熱材のうちのいずれか1以上を設けた、前記<1>から<4>のいずれかに記載の養殖システム。

 本発明によれば、バイオフロックによる養殖システムにおいて養殖水槽の水質を適切に保つことにより、効率よく水生生物の養殖を行うことができる。

 以下、本発明について例示物等を示して詳細に説明するが、本発明は以下の例示物等に限定されるものではなく、本発明の要旨を逸脱しない範囲において任意に変更して実施できる。なお、本明細書において、「AからB」又は「A~B」とはその前後の数値又は物理量を含む表現として用いるものとする。また、本明細書において、「Aおよび/またはB」という表現は、「AおよびBのいずれか一方または双方」を意味する。すなわち、「Aおよび/またはB」には、「Aのみ」、「Bのみ」、「AおよびBの双方」が含まれる。
 本発明の養殖システム(以下、単に「本発明の養殖システム」と称す。)は、バイオフロックを用いた養殖システムであって、養殖水槽に担体に硝化細菌を担持した硝化細菌固定化材を備える、養殖システムである。本発明の養殖システムは、好適には閉鎖循環式の養殖システムである。
 本発明の養殖システムは、バイオフロックを用いた養殖システムであることを前提とする。本発明において「バイオフロック」とは、魚介類や甲殻類等の水産生物の養殖水槽の水中に人為的に作る微生物の固まりのことをいう。このバイオフロックにより、給餌によって増加する有毒なアンモニアや亜硝酸を減少させ、バイオフロック自体も蛋白源として餌にすることができる。
 本明細書において「養殖水」とは、水生生物を養殖する水槽に飼育のために使用する水または水溶液であり、淡水、海水、汽水を含む。これらは飼育する水生生物毎に適切なものを選択する。海水、汽水は人工海水を用いて調製したものでもよい。卵から出荷サイズまでの飼育時期により、適切に変更を加えてもよい。
 本発明の養殖システムの特徴の一つは、養殖水槽において、硝化細菌として、バイオフロックに含まれる硝化細菌とともに、硝化細菌を保持した担体(硝化細菌固定化材)を併用することにある。このようにすることにより、バイオフロックに含まれる硝化細菌のみならず、担体に保持された硝化細菌によっても、相乗的にアンモニア態窒素が硝化されるので、硝化細菌の増殖によってバイオフロックが過剰に増加することが抑制される。
 硝化細菌としては、アンモニア酸化細菌、亜硝酸酸化細菌が挙げられる。「アンモニア酸化細菌」は、好気性雰囲気下で、養殖水中のアンモニア態窒素、例えばアンモニウムイオンを酸化して亜硝酸イオンに変換する細菌であり、また、「亜硝酸酸化細菌」は、アンモニア酸化細菌によって生成した養殖水中の亜硝酸イオンを好気性雰囲気下で更に酸化して硝酸イオンに変換する細菌である。
 本発明において、硝化細菌の種類はニトロバクタ(Nitorobacter)、ニトロスピナ(Nitorospina)、ニトロコッカス(Nitorococcus)等が挙げられるが特に限定されず、養殖対象の水産生物の種類、水素イオン指数溶存酸素、窒素濃度、養殖密度、養殖水槽の大きさ(養殖水の量)、温度等の諸条件を考慮して適宜選択できる。また、バイオフロックに含まれる硝化細菌と、担体に固定される硝化細菌は同一でも異なっていてもよい。
 硝化細菌固定化材は、担体に硝化細菌を保持したものである。
 担体の種類は、硝化細菌の担持が阻害されず、また、養殖対象への悪影響がない限り、特に制限はなく、セラミックなどの無機物からなる無機担体、樹脂等の有機物からなる有機担体のいずれも使用できる。
 担体の形状は、硝化細菌の担持が阻害されない限り制限はなく、例えば、粉末状、粒状、塊状、板状等が挙げられる。より多くの硝化細菌が担持でき、かつ、養殖水との接触性が高まるため、多孔質担体が好適である。
 無機系の多孔質担体としては、例えば天然の鉱物のケイ酸塩化合物であるモンモリロナイト、ゼオライト及びカオリン等も硝化細菌の担持に適するため、硝化細菌の定着性が向上することが期待できる。また、アルミナ等のケイ酸塩化合物以外の無機担体も使用できる。これらは1種で使用してもよく、2種以上を併せて使用してもよい。
 無機系の担体の粒子サイズは、硝化細菌の担持が阻害されない限り、特に制限はない。一方で、品質を揃える等の目的で、小さすぎる粒子をふるい分けして除去してもよい。
 粒状担体としては、例えば、粒子径が0.1μm~250μm程度のものを用いることができるが、これに制限されない。
 有機系の多孔質担体は、水に溶解せず、微生物の親和性の高いポリマーからなる構造物であれば制限されないが、優れた耐摩耗性を有し長寿命であるポリウレタンフォームは好適な樹脂材として挙げられる。有機系の多孔質担体として、具体的には発泡性担体、不繊布担体、多孔性ゲル担体、中空糸膜担体などを使用することができる。これらは1種で使用してもよく、2種以上を併せて使用してもよい。
 特に発泡性担体は、連通気泡を有する構造体であり、比表面積が大きく、単位体積当たりに硝化細菌を高濃度に固定化できるため、硝化細菌固定化材の担体として、好適に用いることができる。発泡性担体の市販品としては、例えば、マイクロブレス(登録商標)(アイオン株式会社製)、バイオチューブ(登録商標)(JFEエンジニアリング株式会社製)、APG(日清紡ケミカル株式会社製)、多孔性セルロース担体(EYELA製)、バイオフロンテアネット(関西化工製)、アクアキューブ(積水アクアシステム株式会社製)などが挙げられる。大きさは任意であるが、後述する通水性を有する容器に入れてして使用するときは、流出しないようにその通水性を有する容器の穴(網目)より大きなものが選択される。
 硝化細菌を担体に固定する方法は任意であるが、例えば水に硝化細菌が分散された分散液と担体とを混合すればよい。混合後、例えば酸素と接触させることで、硝化細菌が担体上で増殖しつつ固定されて、硝化細菌固定化材が得られる。
 硝化細菌固定化材は、養殖水槽の養殖水に接触する状態で配置さればよい。原理的には養殖水槽の水(養殖水)の中に分散せてもよいが、分散させた場合には回収が困難となる。そのため、硝化細菌固定化材を、通水性を有する容器に入れる態様は好適な使用形態である。通水性を有する容器として、具体的には通水性を有するカゴ状容器が挙げられる。
 ここで、「カゴ状容器」とは、水が通過できるように、容器の各面が網状(或いは孔状)等で形成された略直方体形状の筐体であり、容器内部の充填空間に硝化細菌固定化材を充填可能なものである。
 通水性を有する容器の形状や大きさは、硝化細菌固定化材の種類や大きさ、養殖設備の大きさ、養殖される水産物の種類や成長度合い等を考慮して適宜選択される。また。材質も金属製、プラスチック製のいずれでもよく、養殖設備の状況等に応じて適宜選択すればよい。
 養殖水槽において、硝化細菌固定化材を、通水性を有する容器(例えば、カゴ状容器)に入れて使用することにより、硝化細菌固定化材の回収、配置が容易となり、養殖水の状態(C/N比)に応じて、硝化細菌固定化材の量(すなわち、バイオフロック以外の硝化細菌量)を制御することが容易となる。また、通水性を有する容器に入れられたことにより、硝化細菌固定化材が流れて行って消失することがなく、安定して使用することができる。
 養殖水槽に、前記養殖水槽内の水流を循環させるためのエアインジェクターと、養殖水を排出し空気を混合させるための曝気装置と、を備えている場合には、通水性を有する容器に入れられた硝化細菌固定化材は、本発明の養殖システムにおけるエアインジェクター及び/又は曝気装置の下流に配置されることが好適である。ここで下流という語は、エアインジェクター及び/又は曝気装置により発生した水流の下流という意味で用いられる。
 また、硝化細菌の能力(硝化作用)として過剰な場合には通水性を有する容器の数やそれぞれの容器の硝化細菌固定化材の量を調節することにより容易に硝化作用を調節することが可能である。また、硝化細菌固定化材を容易に交換することができるため、能力の低下した場合や雑菌が繁殖して交換が必要となったときに有用である。
 なお、本発明においてエアインジェクター及び曝気装置はそれぞれ水と空気を噴出するものであるが、「エアインジェクター」は養殖水槽内の水流を循環させるために水中に配置されるものであり、「曝気装置」は、養殖水を排出し空気を混合させることを目的とし、排水口は水上にある点で、両者を区別する。具体例は、後述する本発明の実施形態で記載の通りである。
 通水性を有する容器の中に入れられた硝化細菌固定化材を、水流を発生するエアインジェクターや曝気装置の下流にすることにより、硝化細菌固定化材は、いわゆる流動床の状態で、水と強制的に接触するため、硝化細菌固定化材に保持された硝化細菌を最大限に利用することができる。
さらには、硝化細菌固定化材の量が同じでも、エアインジェクターや曝気装置の水量によっても、硝化細菌による硝化作用を制御できるので、より容易に養殖水の水質(C/N比)を制御することが可能となる。
 また、養殖水槽に、水車、給餌機、及び断熱材のうちのいずれか1以上を設けていることが好ましい。具体例は、後述する本発明の実施形態で記載の通りである。
 本発明の養殖システムの好適な態様は、養殖水槽を陸上に設置した、いわゆる陸上養殖システムである。
 本発明の養殖システムにおいて、養殖対象となる水産生物には海産生物が含まれる。海産生物には、甲殻類が含まれる。甲殻類にはエビ(特にはエビ目)が含まれる。「エビ」は、大きさに制限はなく、食品としての分類ではいわゆるロブスター(lobster)、プローン(prawn)、シュリンプ(shrimp)が含まれる。
 また、学術的な分類において本発明の対象となるエビとしてはエビ目が好ましく、エビ目のなかではクルマエビ上科が好ましい。クルマエビ上科のなかではクルマエビ科が好ましい。クルマエビ科(Penaeidae)の生物、例えば、Farfantepenaeus、Fenneropenaeus、Litopenaeus、Marsupenaeus、Melicertus、Metapenaeopsis、Metapenaeus、Penaeus、Trachypenaeus、Xiphopenaeus属などに属するエビが挙げられる。
 クルマエビ科のうち、例えば、食用エビとしては、クルマエビ(Marsupenaeus japonicus)、ミナミクルマエビ(Melicertus canaliculatus)、ウシエビ(ブラックタイガー)(Penaeus monodon)、コウライエビ(Penaeus chinensis)、クマエビ(Penaeus semisulcatus)、フトミゾエビ(Penaeus latisulcatus)、インドエビ(Fenneropenaeus indicus)、ヨシエビ(Metapenaeus ensis)、トサエビ(Metapenaeus intermedius)、Penaeus occidentalis、ブルーシュリンプ(Penaeus stylirostris)、レッドテールシュリンプ(Penaeus pencicillatus)、バナメイエビ(Litopenaeus vannamei)等が挙げられるが、これらに限定されるものではない。
 クルマエビ科、リトペニウス属、特に、バナメイエビ(Litopenaeus vannamei)は本発明の養殖システムおける養殖対象のひとつである。
 また、エビには、遊泳性を持つ種と遊泳性を持たない種がある。遊泳性を持つ種の方が水槽を立体的に使用することができるため、過密状態での生産には適している。本発明の養殖システムにおいては、どちらの種のエビでも養殖可能であるが、過密状態の方がエビ同士の接触機会が多く、生産性が高くなるため、遊泳性を持つ種がより好ましい。遊泳性を持つ種として例えば、クルマエビ(Marsupenaeus japonicus)、ウシエビ(Penaeus monodon)、ボタンエビ(Pandalus nipponensis)、ブドウエビ(Pandalopsis coccinata)、サクラエビ(Lucensosergia lucens)、ホッコクアカエビ(Pandalus eous)、コウライエビ(Penaeus chinensis)、ヨシエビ(Metapenaeus ensis)、バナメイエビ(Litopenaeus vannamei)が挙げられる。
 また砂に潜ることの少ない非潜砂性のエビは本発明に養殖システムにおいて特に高密度で飼育できるため好ましい。非潜砂性のエビとしては、バナメイエビ(Litopenaeus vannamei)、コウライエビが挙げられる。
 本発明の水産生物の生産方法は、上述の本発明の養殖システムを使用して、対象の水産生物を養殖する方法である。
 本発明の水産生物の生産方法によれば、バイオフロック技術を導入した閉鎖循環式の養殖システムにおいて養殖水の水質の制御を容易に行うことができ、対象となる水産生物を効率的に養殖することが可能となる。効率的な養殖において、一の態様では生残率を上げることができる。また、一の態様では飼料効率を上げることができる。また一の態様では成長を早め、養殖期間を短くすることができる。
 養殖対象の水産生物は上述の通りであるため、説明は省略する。水産生物の生産方法の対象がエビの場合には、養殖対象は稚エビから親エビを含む。
 本発明でいう「稚エビ」とは、体重1g未満のものを意味し、卵から稚エビに成長するまでものは含まれない。また、「親エビ」とは上記幼エビより成長したエビを意味する。親エビは、例えば、バナメイエビの場合、通常、15g以上程度まで成長させて出荷される。
 水質は定期的に確認し、適切な範囲に収まるように調整する。バイオフロックと共に使用される硝化細菌固定化材の種類や量により、水質を制御する。pHを5-10、好ましくは6-9、さらに好ましくは7-8で飼育する。pHが低下または上昇した場合、硝化細菌固定化材以外にもアルカリ剤や酸を投入したり、換水率を調整したりして、調整しておよい。水温は、23-32℃、好ましくは25-30℃、さらに好ましくは27-29℃を維持するようにして飼育する。水温は太陽光、ヒーター等を用いて加温したり、クーラー、氷等を用いて冷却することにより調整することができる。
 以下、本発明の実施の形態として、本発明の閉鎖循環式の養殖システムの一例ついて、図面を用いて具体的に説明するが、本発明はこれに限定されるものではない。なお、すべての図面において、同様な構成要素には同様の符号を付し、適宜説明を省略する。
 図1~3に基づいて、本発明の実施形態である養殖システム100について説明する。
 なお、養殖システム100は陸上養殖システムであり、バナメイエビの養殖に適したものであるが、養殖対象はこれに限定されず、上述した水産生物を対象とすることができる。
 図1に示す通り、本実施形態の養殖システム100は、3つの養殖水槽50を有している。養殖水槽50は、図2に示す通り、保温ハウス10内に形成されている。
 本実施形態では、図2で示す保温ハウスで覆われた部分の地面Gに3つの養殖水槽50が形成されている。本明細書において、「保温ハウス」とは、養殖水槽施設の温度を所定範囲内に維持するための構築物である。保温ハウス外の温度が、養殖に適した温度よりも低い場合には、保温ハウスを外気から隔離することにより、保温ハウス内の温度を養殖に適した温度に保つことができる。
 図2に示すように、保温ハウス10は、複数のパイプ材やアングル材などを組み合わせて形成された蒲鉾型の建屋11の周りを合成樹脂フィルム材12で被覆することによって構築されている。なお、図2では省略しているが、本実施形態において、保温ハウス10は3つの連棟構造である。なお、保温ハウス10のサイズ、連棟数などは限定しないので、施工現場の広さや状況に応じて設定することができる。
 本実施形態では、図2に示す通り、養殖水槽50の上面及び外周面は複数の板状の断熱材40(例えば、発泡合成樹脂材)によって覆われている。養殖水槽50の上方において、建屋11の構成部材によって水平状態に支持された複数の受け梁41の上に複数の断熱材40が着脱可能に配置されている。断熱材40は断熱機能を有するとともに、外部からの光(太陽光)を遮蔽する機能も有している。
 養殖水槽50内でバナメイエビを養殖する場合、養殖水Wの温度は比較的高く(28℃程度)保つ必要があるため、水の蒸散が問題となるが、本実施形態では養殖水槽50の上面は断熱材40で覆われ、養殖水槽50全体が保温ハウス10内に配置されているため、養殖水Wの散逸を抑制することができる。また、断熱材40により養殖水槽50内の養殖水Wの水温変化が抑制されるため、光熱費を削減することができる。
 また、図1に示す通り、養殖水槽50内の養殖水Wの加温手段であるボイラー30とボイラー30の近傍には、ボイラー30において使用する燃料を貯留する燃料タンク31が配置されている。これにより、保温ハウス10内の温度を上げることができる。
 養殖システム100においては、必要に応じてボイラー30を運転し、保温ハウス10内の室温及び養殖水槽50内の養殖水Wの水温を適正に保ちながら、エアインジェクター60、水車70、曝気装置80、循環ポンプ91及び自動給餌機20を稼働させることにより、養殖水槽50内の養殖水W中で水産生物(例えば、バナメイエビ)などの養殖を行うことができる。
 養殖水槽50は、図2,3に示す通り、平面視形状はいずれも長方形であり、養殖水槽50を構成する長方形の短辺側の内壁面51,51及び長辺側の内壁面52,52は、養殖水槽50内に向かって下り勾配をなすように傾斜している(図2参照)。
 本実施形態の養殖システム100において、養殖水槽50は、地面Gから重力方向に向かって凹状部を形成し、この凹状部の内壁面及び底面に遮水性を有する合成樹脂製シートを敷設することによって形成されている。
 養殖水槽50の底面53の平面視形状は長方形をなしており、全体的に水平である。
 なお、本実施形態において、養殖システム100は、地面Gに形成した凹状部に合成樹脂シート材(例えば、PE保護シート)を敷設して養殖水槽50を設けているが、養殖水槽50に代えてコンクリート製、プラスチック製、金属製の養殖水槽を用いることもできる。
 図2に示すように、養殖水槽50の内壁面51,52は養殖水槽50の内側に向かって下り勾配をなすように形成することにより、内壁面51,52は底面53に対して鈍角をなしているので、収穫する際のエビの回収作業及び残渣の回収作業が容易である。養殖水槽50の内壁面51,52の傾斜角度は水平面Hを基準にして約45度に設定しているがこれに限定するものではないので、地面G下の土質が粘土質であれば、60度~70度程度の高角度にすることも可能である。
 図1~3に示すように、養殖水槽50においては、4つの内壁面51,51,52,52よりも養殖水槽50の内側に離れた領域に、水平方向の端部54aが位置する平板状の隔壁54を立設することにより、隔壁54の周りを養殖水Wの水流Sが水平方向に流動しながら循環可能な無端流水路55が形成されている。
 養殖水槽50の底面53には、無端流水路55の長手方向に沿って複数のエアインジェクター60が配置されている。養殖水槽50の長手方向の端部寄りの部分には、それぞれ隔壁54を挟んで一対の水車70,70が配置されている。
 また、養殖水槽50の長手方向の端部近傍には、それぞれ曝気装置80が配置されている。さらに、養殖水槽50の短辺部分の外部には、それぞれ沈殿槽90及び循環ポンプ91が配置されている。養殖水槽50の一方の短辺部分の外部には自動給餌機20及び循環ポンプ91が配置されている。
 また、図1及び図3に示すように、水車70は、水平軸を中心に回転可能な回転羽根71と、回転羽根71を駆動するためのモータ72とを備えている。回転羽根71の回転方向は切り替え可能である。
 図1及び図3に示すように、養殖水槽50の底面53に設けられた複数のエアインジェクター60からエア混じりの水を噴出することにより、養殖水槽50中の養殖水Wに、各図中の矢線で示すように隔壁54の周りを連続的に旋回する循環する水流Sを発生させることができるので、水流Sに沿って泳ぐ性質を有する水産生物(例えば、クルマエビ、ウシエビ、ボタンエビ、ブドウエビ、テナガエビ、サクラエビ、ホッコクアカエビ、コウライエビ、ヨシエビ、バナメイエビ)の養殖に好適である。
 養殖水槽50においては、曝気装置80及び複数の水車70を稼働させることにより、空気中の酸素を養殖水W中へ効率的に供給することができる。水車70の回転羽根71は回転方向が変更可能であるので、循環する水流Sの方向などの状況に応じて適切な方向へ回転させることができる。なお、水車70の回転羽根71を順回転させたときは水流Sの速度が大きくなるわけではないが、水流Sに逆らって逆回転させると、水を押し出すようになり、流れが速くなる。これはエアインジェクターでの水流Sの生成が不十分なときに有用である。
 曝気装置80の排水口(図示せず)の下流には、多数の粒状の硝化細菌固定化材が入れられた通水性を有するカゴ状容器(図示せず)が配置されている。本実施形態の硝化細菌固定化材では、硝化細菌を高濃度に固定化でき、有機系担体としては比較的耐久性の高い、発泡性担体である水膨張性のポリウレタンフォーム(膨張時:10×10×10mm)を使用している。但し、これ以外にも担体を使用することもできる。例えば、より耐久性を求める高い無機系の多孔質担体を使用することもできる。
 曝気装置80は、養殖水を排出し空気を混合させるため、好気性細菌である硝化細菌を活発化する。さらにカゴ状容器に入れられた硝化細菌固定化材は容器の中で、流動して水と強制的に接触するため、硝化細菌固定化材に保持された硝化細菌を最大限に利用することができる。曝気装置の水量によっても、硝化細菌による硝化作用を制御できるので、より容易に養殖水の水質(C/N比)を制御することが可能となる。
 なお、本実施形態においては、曝気装置80の下流に通水性を有するカゴ状容器に入れられた硝化細菌固定化材が配置されているが、複数のエアインジェクター60のうち、1以上のエアインジェクター60に通水性を有するカゴ状容器に入れられた硝化細菌固定化材を配置してもよい。
 以上、本発明の実施形態をしたが、今回開示された実施形態はすべての点で例示であって制限的なものではないと考えられるべきである。特に、今回開示された実施形態において、明示的に開示されていない事項、例えば、運転条件や操業条件、各種パラメータ、構成物の寸法、重量、体積などは、当業者が通常実施する範囲を逸脱するものではなく、通常の当業者であれば、容易に想定することが可能な値を採用している。
 本発明は、陸上においてエビ等の水産生物を育成するための閉鎖循環式養殖システムとして、養殖漁業や養殖水産業などの分野において広く利用することができる。例えば、一の態様ではバイオフロックに含まれる硝化細菌だけでなく、担体に担持された硝化細菌により補助的にアンモニア態窒素が硝化作用されるので、バイオフロックの量が過剰になることを回避することにより、養殖水の水質を維持することができる。また一の態様では、養殖水中のC/N比を制御することが可能とすることにより、養殖水の水質を維持することができる。本発明によれば、より美味しく、鮮度よく、および/又は日持ちのする水産生物を生産することができる。

Claims (14)

  1.  バイオフロックを用いた養殖システムであって、養殖水槽に担体に硝化細菌を担持した硝化細菌固定化材を備えることを特徴とする養殖システム。
  2.  前記硝化細菌固定化材における担体が、発泡性担体である請求項1に記載の養殖システム。
  3.  前記硝化細菌固定化材が、通水性を有する容器に詰められた請求項1または2に記載の養殖システム。
  4.  前記養殖水槽に、前記養殖水槽内の水流を循環させるためのエアインジェクターと、養殖水を排出し空気を混合させるための曝気装置と、を備え、
     前記硝化細菌固定化材が詰められた通水性を有する容器が、前記エアインジェクター及び/又は前記曝気装置の下流に配置された請求項3に記載の養殖システム。
  5.  前記養殖水槽に、水車、給餌機、及び断熱材のうちのいずれか1以上を設けた請求項1から4のいずれかかに記載の養殖システム。
  6.  前記養殖水槽を陸上に設置した請求項1から5のいずれかに記載の養殖システム。
  7.  請求項1から6のいずれかに記載の養殖システムを使用して、対象の水産生物を養殖することを特徴とする水産生物の生産方法。
  8.  前記水産生物が、海産生物である請求項7に記載の水産生物の生産方法。
  9.  前記海産生物が、甲殻類である請求項8記載の水産生物の生産方法。
  10.  前記甲殻類が、エビ目である請求項9記載の水産生物の生産方法。
  11.  前記エビ目が、クルマエビ上科である請求項10記載の水産生物の生産方法。
  12.  前記クルマエビ上科が、クルマエビ科である請求項11記載の水産生物の生産方法。
  13.  前記クルマエビ科が、リトペニウス属である請求項12記載の水産生物の生産方法。
  14.  前記リトペニウス属が、バナメイエビ(Litopenaeus vannamei)である請求項13記載の水産生物の生産方法。
