図1は、第1実施形態の成形システムを示す概略構成図、図2は、金属パイプ材料の一例を示す斜視図である。図1に示される成形システム1は、図2に示されるように、板材の端部14a,14a同士が溶接された溶接部14bを有し円筒状とされた金属パイプ材料14を用い、金属パイプ90(図10参照)を成形するものである。金属パイプ材料14は、より具体的には、平板状の金属の薄板を円筒状に丸めて、対向する端部14a,14a同士を突き合わせた状態で溶接することで形成されている。このようにして金属パイプ材料14を溶接した溶接部14bは、金属パイプ材料14の中心軸線Lに沿って延在している。なお、金属パイプ材料14の中心軸線Lは、金属パイプ材料14の延在方向Dに対して平行である。そして、図1に示されるように、成形システム1は、成形装置10と、位置検出部110と、供給装置120と、搬出装置130と、制御装置140と、を具備している。
次に、本実施形態の成形システム1による金属パイプ90の成形方法について説明する。図8は、成形方法を示すフローチャートである。

図9に示されるように、第2実施形態の成形システム1Aは、供給装置120Aの構成において、上述した第1実施形態の成形システム1A及び成形システム1Aによる金属パイプ90の成形方法と主に相違している。すなわち、供給装置120Aは、金属パイプ材料14を把持可能であると共に把持した金属パイプ材料14を中心軸線L回りに回転可能、且つ、金属パイプ材料14を成形装置10に搬送可能な多関節のアームからなる回転搬送部123を有する。
