Abstract
본 발명은 수율이 우수할 뿐만 아니라 낮은 다분산 지수로 분자량 분포가 좁고, 균일한 물성구현이 가능한 비촉매, 비개시제 조건 하에서 열중합하는 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지의 제조방법 및 이로부터 제조된 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지에 관한 것이다.
Description
본 발명은 낮은 다분산 지수로 분자량 분포가 좁아 균일한 물성을 가지는 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지의 제조방법에 관한 것이다.
디사이클로펜타디엔(dicyclopentadiene, DCPD) 수지는 무정형 폴리알파올레핀(amorphous polyalphaolefin, APAO), 에틸렌비닐아세테이트(ethylenevinyl acetate, EVA) 및 스티렌계 블록 공중합체(styrenic block copolymers, SBCs) 등 다양한 고분자와 혼합되고, 수소 첨가 반응을 통하여 점착제 또는 접착제의 점착부여 수지로 사용된다. 이때, 점착제 또는 접착제의 종류 및 용도에 따라 다양한 물성이 요구되며, 이를 충족시키기 위하여 고분자와의 상용성 및 접착력 개선을 위한 연구개발이 활발히 진행되고 있다.
촉매 존재 하에 가열하여 제조된 디사이클로펜타디엔 수지는 상기 촉매로 인해 수소 첨가 반응 시 각종 부식문제가 발생될 수 있다. 또한, 중합 촉매의 금속에 의해 수첨 촉매의 활성이 낮아지고, 수소 첨가 반응이 원활히 이루어지지 않는 단점이 있다. 더욱이, 낮은 수율로 생산성이 현저히 낮은 문제점이 있다.
이를 해결하기 위하여 촉매를 사용하지 않고, 열중합하여 이를 해결하려고 하였으나, 통상의 비촉매 및 비개시제의 상태에서 중합반응을 수행함으로써 수율을 향상시키고, 잔류금속의 문제점을 해결할 수 있었지만, 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지의 분자량 분포가 균일하지 않아 물성이 일정하지 않은 문제점이 있었다.
상기와 같은 문제점을 해결하기 위한 본 발명의 목적은 수율이 우수할 뿐만 아니라 좁은 분자량 분포로 균일한 물성을 갖는 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지의 제조방법에 대하여 많은 연구를 한 결과 본 발명을 완성하게 되었다.
또한, 본 발명의 또 다른 목적은 수소 첨가 반응 후에도 저분자량의 유기물 방출 등의 표면 오염을 방지할 수 있는 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지의 제조방법을 제공하는 것이다.
또한, 본 발명에 따른 디 사이클로펜타디엔계 수지는 C

20 올레핀계 단량체 및 방향족 비닐계 단량체를 공단량체로 포함하여 높은 상용성을 갖고, 수소 첨가 반응 후에 접착력이 향상시킨 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지의 제조방법을 제공하는 것이다.
상기 목적을 달성하기 위하여 연구한 결과, 본 발명에 따른 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지의 제조방법은 a)디사이클로펜타디엔 및 C

20 올레핀계 단량체 및 방향족 비닐계 단량체의 혼합단량체를 포함하는 단량체 조성물을 비촉매 조건 하에 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기(CSTR)에서 열중합하는 1차 열중합 단계 및 b)상기 1차 열중합의 반응 생성물에 대하여, 비촉매 조건하에 플러그 흐름 반응기(PFR)에서 열중합하는 2차 열중합 단계를 포함한다.

본 발명의 일 양태에 따른 상기 올레핀계 단량체는 피페릴렌, 이소프렌, 에틸렌, 프로필렌, 1-부텐, 1-펜텐, 1-헥센, 1-헵텐, 1-옥텐, 1-데센, 1-운데센, 1-도데센, 1-테트라데센, 1-헥사데센, 및 혼합 C5 유분에서 선택되는 어느 하나 또는 둘 이상의 혼합물을 포함할 수 있다.

20 올레핀계 단량체 및 방향족 비닐계 단량체를 공단량체로 포함하여 높은 상용성을 갖고, 수소 첨가 반응 후에 접착력이 향상되고, 분자량 분포가 좁은 균일한 물성을 갖는 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지를 제공할 수 있다는 장점이 있다.
이하 실시예를 통해 본 발명에 따른 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지의 제조방법에 대하여 더욱 상세히 설명한다. 다만 하기 실시예는 본 발명을 상세히 설명하기 위한 참조일 뿐 본 발명이 이에 제한되는 것은 아니며, 여러 형태로 구현 될 수 있다.
또한 달리 정의되지 않는 한, 모든 기술적 용어 및 과학적 용어는 본 발명이 속하는 당업자 중 하나에 의해 일반적으로 이해되는 의미와 동일한 의미를 갖는다. 본원에서 설명에 사용되는 용어는 단지 특정 실시예를 효과적으로 기술하기 위함이고, 본 발명을 제한하는 것으로 의도되지 않는다.
본 명세서에서 “디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지”는 디사이클로펜타디엔을 단량체로 하여 중합되거나, 다른 단량체와 함께 중합된 수지를 의미하며, 구체적으로는 디사이클로펜타디엔 및 C
2-C
20 올레핀계 단량체의 혼합단량체 또는 디사이클로펜타디엔, C
2-C
20 올레핀계 단량체 및 방향족 비닐계 단량체의 혼합단량체를 포함하는 단량체 조성물로 중합된 수지를 의미한다. 상기 수지를 수첨 반응시켜 얻은 수첨 수지도 포함하는 의미로 사용된다.
본 명세서에서, 명시적인 언급이 없는 한, “반응기의 부피” 또는 “반응기의 내부 부피”는 반응기 내에서 반응물 또는 유체가 점유 가능한 유효 부피(effective volume)를 의미하는 것으로 정의한다.
상기 목적을 달성하기 위한 본 발명은 균일한 물성 구현이 가능한 비촉매 및 비개시제 열중합 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지의 제조방법 및 이로부터 제조된 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지에 관한 것이다.
본 발명을 구체적으로 설명하면 다음과 같다.
본 발명에 따른 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지의 제조방법은 a)디사이클로펜타디엔 및 C
2-C
20 올레핀계 단량체의 혼합단량체 또는 디사이클로펜타디엔, C
2-C
20 올레핀계 단량체 및 방향족 비닐계 단량체의 혼합단량체를 포함하는 단량체 조성물을 비촉매, 비개시제 조건 하에 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기(CSTR)에서 열중합하는 1차 열중합 단계 및 b)상기 1차 열중합의 반응 생성물에 대하여, 비촉매, 비개시제 조건하에 플러그 흐름 반응기(PFR)에서 열중합하는 2차 열중합 단계를 포함한다.
구체적으로 설명하면, 본 발명에 따른 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지의 제조방법은 2단계로 나누어 수행되고, 먼저, 촉매 및 개시제를 포함하지 않는 단량체 조성물을 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기(Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor, CSTR)에서 1차 열중합 시킨다. 이 후, 이로부터 제조된 1차 중합물을 상기 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기에 연결된 플러그 흐름 반응기(Plug Flow Reactor, PFR)에 공급하여 2차 열중합을 시켜 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지를 제조하는 것이다. 이와 같이 단계별 중합에 의해 제조됨으로써, 중합 반응열을 용이하게 제어할 수 있고, 단량체의 전환율 또는 중합률이 현저히 향상되며, 분자량 분포가 좁아 균일한 물성을 갖는 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지를 생산할 수 있다.
기존의 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지의 제조방법 중 비촉매 열중합방법은 통상 분자량 분포가 넓어서 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지의 일정한 물성이 제공되지 않는 한계가 있었으나, 본 발명은 상술한 바와 같이 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기(Continuous Stirred Tank Reactor, CSTR) 및 플러그 흐름 반응기(Plug Flow Reactor, PFR)에서 수행되는 공정을 채택함으로써 좁은 분자량 분포를 갖도록 조절이 가능하여 균일한 물성 및 점착제로 사용될 때, 장기 사용에 따른 이행의 증가에 대한 오염 방지 등의 현저한 효과의 구현이 가능한 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지를 제공할 수 있는 것이다.

본 발명에서 비촉매, 비개시제라는 것은 인위적으로 촉매 역할을 하는 금속촉매, 양이온 촉매, 음이온 촉매 또는 라디칼 중합을 인위적으로 유도하는 퍼옥사이드 개시제, 아조계 개시제 또는 레독스 촉매 등을 모두 포함하지 않는 개념이다.

10 올레핀계 단량체를 포함할 수 있다. 구체적인 예를 들어, 피페릴렌, 이소프렌, 1-부텐, 1-펜텐, 1-헥센, 1-헵텐, 1-옥텐 및 1-데센 등에서 선택되는 어느 하나 또는 둘 이상의 혼합물을 포함할 수 있다.
상기 혼합 C5 유분은 이소프렌, 피페릴렌, 사이클로펜타디엔, 1-펜텐, 2-메틸-2-부텐 및 n-펜탄 등의 혼합물로 구성된 것이다. 구체적으로는 혼합 C5 유분은 이소프렌 10 내지 20중량%, 피페릴렌 10 내지 20중량%, 사이클로펜타디엔 0.5 내지 1.5중량%, 1-펜텐 2 내지 4중량%, 2-메틸-2-부텐 1 내지 3중량% 및 n-펜탄 25 내지 35중량%로 구성된 것일 수 있다. 더욱 구체적으로, 전세계적으로 사용되는 C5 유분의 거의 대부분은 피페릴렌이 주요 단량체인 피페릴렌 농축 유분일 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 양태에 따라, 상기 방향족 비닐계 단량체는 바람직하게 C
6-C
20방향족 비닐계 단량체를 포함할 수 있고, 구체적인 예를 들어, 스티렌, 알파-메틸스티렌, 파라-메틸스티렌, 인덴, 메틸 인덴, 비닐톨루엔, 혼합 C9 유분 및 이들의 유도체 등에서 선택되는 어느 하나 또는 둘 이상의 혼합물을 포함할 수 있다.
상기 혼합 C9 유분은 스티렌, 비닐톨루엔, 인덴(Indene), 알파-메틸스티렌, 벤젠, 톨루엔 및 자일렌(BTX)등의 혼합물로 구성된 것이다. 구체적으로는 혼합 C9 유분은 스티렌 10 내지 20중량%, 비닐톨루엔 10 내지 20중량%, 인덴(Indene) 10 내지 20중량%, 알파-메틸스티렌 1 내지 7중량% 및 자일렌 40 내지 60중량%로 구성된 것일 수 있다.
상기와 같은 단량체로 구성될 경우 낮은 연화점을 비롯하여 향상된 품질을 가지면서도, 높은 분자량 및 낮은 분자량 분포를 갖고, 우수한 접착력 구현이 가능하여, 접착제 또는 점착제로 제공될 수 있다.

20 올레핀계 단량체가 50:50 내지 99:1중량비로 포함하는 것일 수 있다. 바람직하게는 70:30 내지 99:1중량비, 더 바람직하게는 75:25 내지 99:1중량비, 더욱 바람직하게는 80:20 내지 99:1중량비로 포함할 수 있다. 상기와 같은 함량으로 포함할 경우 다른 수지와의 상용성이 향상되고, 좁은 분자량 분포를 가지면서, 접착력을 향상시킬 수 있다.

20 올레핀계 단량체 및 방향족 비닐계 단량체는 1:99 내지 50:50중량비, 더 바람직하게는 10:90 내지 50:50중량비로 포함할 수 있다.
상기와 같은 함량으로 포함할 경우 부반응을 억제할 수 있고, 중합 반응율을 높일 수 있으며, 좁은 분자량 분포로 우수한 접착력을 구현할 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 양태에 따라, 상기 단량체 조성물은 용매에 용해된 상태로 사용할 수 있으며, 상기 용매는 본 발명이 속하는 기술분야에서 통상적으로 사용되는 것을 사용할 수 있다. 구체적인 예를 들어, 펜탄, 헥산, 헵탄, 노난, 데칸, 벤젠, 톨루엔 및 자일렌 등에서 선택되는 어느 하나 또는 둘 이상의 혼합용매일 수 있으나, 이에 제한되는 것은 아니다.
본 발명의 일 양태에 따라, 상기 단량체 조성물은 산화방지제 및 중합금지제 등과 같은 본 발명이 속하는 기술분야에서 통상적으로 사용되는 첨가제를 더 포함할 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 양태에 따라, 상기 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기는 본 발명이 속하는 기술분야에서 통상적으로 사용되는 것이라면 특별히 제한되지 않으며, 상기 단량체 조성물의 연속적인 투입 및 혼합과 함께 중합 반응을 진행할 수 있다. 상기와 같이 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기에서 1차 열중합을 수행함으로써, 반응이 진행되는동안 온도가 균일하게 유지되어 국소고온점(hot spot)발생 확률이 낮아 좁은 분자량 분포를 가질 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 양태에 따라, 상기 a)단계에서의 반응온도(T
1)는 210 내지 270℃일 수 있고, 바람직하게는 220 내지 270℃일 수 있다. 상기 반응온도로 수행할 경우 단량체의 전환율 또는 중합률이 우수하고, 가교 반응 등의 부반응의 발생을 억제하여 낮은 다분산 지수를 가질 수 있어 좁은 분자량 분포로 균일한 물성을 구현할 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 양태에 따라, 상기 a)단계에서의 반응압력은 1 내지 40bar일 수 있고, 바람직하게는 5 내지 35bar, 더 바람직하게는 10 내지 30 bar일 수 있다. 상기 반응압력으로 수행할 경우 안전사고 위험이 발생되지 않는 선에서 단량체의 반응성을 높일 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 양태에 따라, 상기 a)단계에서의 반응시간은 10 내지 180분일 수 있고, 바람직하게는 20 내지 150분, 더 바람직하게는 30 내지 100분일 수 있다. 상기 반응시간으로 수행할 경우 원료 혼합에 의한 부반응을 억제할 수 있고, 좁은 분자량 분포를 제공할 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 양태에 따라, 상기 a)단계에서의 단량체 조성물의 단량체 전환율이 5 내지 70%일 수 있고, 바람직하게는 10 내지 60%, 더 바람직하게는 15 내지 50%가 될 때까지 수행할 수 있다. 상기 전환율로 조절하여 1차 열중합을 수행할 경우, 2차 열중합 시 중합체의 수율을 현저히 높일 수 있고, 채널링(channelling) 또는 데드존 등의 발생을 방지하여 중합반응효율을 향상시킬 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 양태에 따라, 상기 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지의 제조방법은 상기 1차 열중합 후, 상기 1차 열중합된 1차 중합물을 플러그 흐름 반응기에 공급하여 교반없이 2차 열중합하여 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지를 제조하는 단계를 포함한다. 이 때, 상기 플러그 흐름 반응기는 1차 열중합을 수행한 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기에 연결되어 있을 수 있으며, 이로부터 중합물을 공급받아 연속적인 중합을 수행할 수 있다.
상기 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기에서만 열중합을 수행할 경우 반응기 내부에서 미반응물 및 생성물을 포함한 유체에 의한 채널링 등이 발생하여 중합반응속도 및 효율이 저감되고, 불균일한 물성을 갖는 중합체가 제조될 수 있다.
또한, 상기 플러그 흐름 반응기에서만 열중합을 수행할 경우 고온고압의 반응 조건하에서 중합이 이루어질 수 밖에 없으며, 내부에 교반 장치가 없는 반응기로 반응기 부피 당 단량체의 전환율이 높은 장점이 있으나, 교반이 불충분하여 국소고온점과 부반응이 발생될 수 있다.
본 발명에 따른 단량체 조성물은 상기 플러그 흐름 반응기에 처음부터 투입하여 열중합하는 것이 아니라, 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기에서 1차 열중합을 거쳐 일정 수준으로 중합된 반응 생성물에 대하여 2차로 열중합 반응을 진행하는 것으로 중합반응열의 감소로 국소고온점의 발생이 억제되고, 좁은 분자량 분포를 가질 수 있어 균일한 물성을 갖는 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지를 제조할 수 있다.
또한, 본 발명의 일 양태에 따라, 기존 설비의 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기의 크기를 늘리지 않고도, 상기 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기에 상기 플러그 흐름 반응기를 직렬로 연결함으로써 필요로 하는 생산량에 따라 반응기의 총 부피를 용이하게 조절할 수 있으며, 이를 통해 보다 우수한 경제적 효과의 달성도 가능하다. 또한, 본 발명에 따른 상기와 같은 구성의 반응 장치를 사용함에 따라 중합반응열을 보다 용이하게 제어할 수 있으며, 좁은 분자량 분포 및 균일한 물성을 갖는 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지를 제조할 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 양태에 따라, 상기 플러그 흐름 반응기는 본 발명이 속하는 기술분야에서 통상적으로 사용되는 것이라면 특별히 제한되지 않으며, 상기 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기에 직렬로 연결된 것일 수 있고, 1차 열중합된 1차 중합물의 연속적인 투입과 함께 연속 중합 반응을 진행할 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 양태에 따라, 상기 b)단계에서의 반응온도(T

본 발명의 일 양태에 따라, 상기 b)단계에서의 반응압력은 1 내지 40bar일 수 있고, 바람직하게는 5 내지 35bar, 더 바람직하게는 10 내지 30 bar일 수 있다. 상기 반응압력으로 수행할 경우 안전사고 위험이 발생되지 않는 선에서 기화된 단량체에 의해 데드존(dead zone) 발생을 억제할 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 양태에 따라, 상기 b)단계에서의 반응시간은 10 내지 360분일 수 있고, 바람직하게는 20 내지 240분, 더 바람직하게는 30 내지 140분일 수 있다. 더욱 구체적으로는 상기 b)단계에서의 반응시간은 a)단계의 반응시간의 1 내지 4배, 바람직하게는 1 내지 3배, 더 바람직하게는 1 내지 2배일 수 있다. 상기 반응시간으로 수행할 경우 부반응을 억제하여 분자량 분포가 좁은 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지를 제조할 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 양태에 따라, 상기 플러그 흐름 반응기의 내부 부피는 상기 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기의 내부 부피의 1 내지 3배일 수 있고, 바람직하게는 1 내지 2.5배, 더 바람직하게는 1 내지 2배일 수 있다. 상기 플러그 흐름 반응기의 내부 부피가 상기 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기의 내부 부피에 대하여 상기와 같은 크기를 가질 경우 초기 반응열 제어가 용이하여 불순물의 발생을 억제할 수 있고, 반응온도 제어로 중합효율을 높임과 동시에 균일한 물성을 구현할 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 양태에 따라, 상기 플러그 흐름 반응은 케닉스 믹서(kenics mixer) 및 슐저 믹서(sulzer mixer) 등에서 선택되는 어느 하나 또는 둘 이상의 스태틱 믹서(Static mixer)가 직렬로 연결된 것일 수 있다. 상기와 같은 믹서를 포함함으로써, 점성이 큰 용액의 흐름에 의한 반응기 내의 압력 강하를 방지할 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 양태에 따라, 상기 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기(CSTR)와 플러그 흐름 반응기(PFR) 연결 구간에 필터를 더 포함할 수 있다. 상기 필터는 금속, 고분자 및 세라믹 등에서 선택되는 어느 하나 또는 둘 이상의 혼합물질로 제조된 것일 수 있고, 기공크기가 100㎚ 내지 10㎛, 바람직하게는 100㎚ 내지 1㎛일 수 있으나, 이물질 등을 여과시킬 수 있는 필터라면 특별히 제한되는 것은 아니다.
본 발명의 일 양태에 따라, 상기 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지의 제조방법은 용매 분리 공정을 수행할 수 있다. 상기와 같이 용매 분리 공정을 수행하기 위하여 플러그 흐름 반응기에 용매 분리기가 연결될 수 있으며, 효과적으로 용매를 배출시킴으로써 벌크상의 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지를 회수하여 입자화된 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지를 수득할 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 양태에 따라, 상기 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지의 제조방법은 비교적 짧은 반응 시간에도 불구하고, 비촉매 및 비개시제 조건 하에 2단계에 걸친 열중합함으로써, 50%이상, 바람직하게는 60%이상, 더 바람직하게는 65%이상의 높은 수율을 가질 수 있으며, 좁은 분자량 분포를 나타낼 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 양태에 따라, 상기 b)단계 이후 수소 첨가 반응 공정을 더 수행하는 것일 수 있다. 상기 수소 첨가 반응은 본 발명이 속하는 기술분야에 알려진 방법에 따라 수행될 수 있다. 상기 수소 첨가 반응은 불포화 상태인 이중 결합에 수소가 첨가되어 단일 결합을 형성하는 반응으로, 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지에 수소 첨가 반응을 통해 이중 결합이 모두 사라진 수소 첨가 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지로 제조할 수 있다. 구체적인 예를 들면, 상기 비촉매 열중합인 2단계 중합을 통하여 수득된 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지를 수첨 촉매가 패킹된 연속 수첨 반응기에 투입하여 수소 첨가 반응을 수행할 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 양태에 따라, 상기 수소 첨가 반응은 50 내지 150bar의 압력 하에 150 내지 300℃에서 수행할 수 있으나, 이에 제한되는 것은 아니다. 상기와 같은 압력 및 온도에서 수행할 경우 분자구조 파괴를 방지할 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 양태에 따라, 상기 수첨 촉매는 특별히 제한되는 것은 아니지만, 공지된 수첨 촉매면 어느 것이든 사용 가능하다. 구체적인 예를 들면, Ni, Fe, Cu, Co, Mo, Pd, Rh, Pt, Nb, Au, Rd 및 Raney Ni 등에서 선택되는 어느 하나 또는 둘 이상의 혼합물일 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 양태에 따라, 상기 수첨 촉매는 반응성 향상을 위하여 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지의 단량체 1몰에 대하여 0.001 내지 0.5, 바람직하게는 0.05 내지 0.2 몰비로 포함할 수 있으나, 이에 제한되는 것은 아니다.
본 발명의 일 양태에 따라, 상기와 같이 수소 첨가 반응을 거친 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지는 핫멜트 접착제 또는 감압형 접착제 등으로 사용되거나, 천연고무 또는 합성고무 등과 같이 다양한 수지에 배합되어 접착제로 사용될 수 있다. 또한, 잉크, 페인트, 로드마킹용 페인트 등에 점착 또는 접착 부여 수지로 첨가될 수 있다.
상기 수소 첨가 반응을 거친 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지는 접착제로 사용되기 위하여 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지에 스티렌-아이소프렌 공중합체, 스티렌-아이소프렌-스티렌공중합체, 스티렌-부타디엔 공중합체, 스티렌-부타디엔-스티렌 공중합체 등과 같은 스티렌계 공중합체, 폴리에틸렌, 폴리프로필렌, 에틸렌비닐아세테이트 및 프로필렌-에틸렌공중합체 등과 같은 폴리올레핀계 중합체 등에서 선택되는 어느 하나 또는 둘 이상의 혼합공중합체; 파라핀 왁스, 마이크로스탈린 왁스 등과 같은 합성왁스 또는 동물성 천연왁스, 식물성 천연왁스, 방향족계 오일, 나프텐계 오일 및 파라핀계 오일 등에서 선택되는 어느 하나 또는 둘 이상의 혼합물을 더 포함하여 접착제 조성물로 제공될 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 양태에 따라, 상기와 같이 제조된 수소 첨가 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지는 접착제 조성물로 제조하여도, 저분자량의 유기물이 표면으로 방출되어 시간이 경과하면서 접착 표면의 오염이나 주변의 오염 발생을 방지할 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 양태에 따라, 상기 접착제 조성물은 경화 후, 연화점 50 내지 150℃, 바람직하게는 100 내지 150℃, 더 바람직하게는 103 내지 140℃일 수 있다. 상기와 같은 연화점을 가질 경우 접착성을 향상시킬 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 양태에 따라, 상기 접착제 조성물은 경화 후, 180°박리강도가 0.5kgf/25㎜이상일 수 있다. 바람직하게는 0.6kgf/25㎜이상일 수 있다. 구체적으로는 0.5 내지 2.0kgf/25㎜일 수 있고, 바람직하게는 0.6 내지 2.0kgf/25㎜일 수 있다. 또한, 택 포스(tack force)가 0.9kgf이상일 수 있고, 바람직하게는 0.95kgf이상일 수 있다. 구체적으로는 0.9 내지 1.5kgf일 수 있고, 바람직하게는 0.95 내지 1.5kgf일 수 있다.
상기와 같은 물성을 가질 경우 우수한 루프 택 및 필 특성을 갖는 접착제를 제공할 수 있다.
본 발명에 따른 디사이클로펜타디엔 수지는 디사이클로펜타디엔 및 C
2-C
20 올레핀계 혼합단량체 또는 디사이클로펜타디엔, C
2-C
20 올레핀계 단량체 및 방향족 비닐계 단량체의 혼합단량체를 포함하는 단량체 조성물을 비촉매, 비개시제 조건하에 열중합시킨 것이다.
본 발명의 일 양태에 따른 상기 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지는 상술한 제조방법과 같이 연속 교반 탱크 반응기(CSTR)에서 1차 열중합 후, 플러그 흐름 반응기(PFR)에서 2차 열중합하는 연속중합으로 제조된 것일 수 있다.
본 발명의 일 양태에 따른 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지는 디사이클로펜타디엔과 디사이클로펜타디엔 외의 공단량체를 함께 비촉매 열중합하여 수득한 것일 수 있으며, 하기 식 1을 만족할 수 있다. 이 때, 공단량체는 C

상기 식 1에서, PDI는 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지의 다분산 지수이고,
n은 상기 단량체 조성물 중 디사이클로펜타디엔 외의 공단량체의 중량비(디사이클로펜타디엔 외의 공단량체의 중량/전체 단량체 조성물의 단량체 중량)다.
상기 식 1에서 PDI - 1.45 ×n을 z라 할 때, 0.1 < z <1.5, 또는 0.3< z <1.5, 또는 0.5 < z <1.5, 또는 0.5 < z <1.49, 또는 0.8 < z <1.49, 또는 1.0< z <1.48를 만족할 수 있다. 상기 식 1을 만족할 경우 분자량 분포가 좁고, 균일한 물성 구현이 가능하다. 동일한 공단량체의 중량비를 갖는 디시클로펜타디엔계 수지에 있어 상기 식 1의 z값이 작을수록 분자량 분포가 더 좁은 것을 의미한다.
본 발명의 일 양태에 따라, 본 발명에 따른 비촉매 열중합 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지의 제조방법으로 제조된 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지는 다분산 지수(PDI)가 2.5이하일 수 있다. 구체적으로는 1.0 내지 2.5일 수 있고, 바람직하게는 1.2 내지 2.4일 수 있고, 더 바람직하게는 1.4 내지 2.2일 수 있고, 더욱 바람직하게는 1.4 내지 1.8일 수 있다. 상기와 같이 본 발명에 따른 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지의 제조방법으로 2단계에 걸쳐 비촉매 및 비개시제 조건 하에 열중합을 수행할 경우 현저히 분자량 분포를 좁힐 수 있는 것이다.
본 발명의 일 양태에 따라, 상기 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지는 수평균분자량(Mn)이 200 내지 1,200g/mol이고, 중량평균분자량(Mw)이 250 내지 4,000g/mol, Z 평균분자량(Mz)이 300 내지 5,000g/mol일 수 있다. 바람직하게는 수평균분자량이 250 내지 1,000g/mol이고, 중량평균분자량이 300 내지 3,000g/mol, Z 평균분자량이 350 내지 4,000g/mol일 수 있다. 더 바람직하게는 수평균분자량이 200 내지 800g/mol이고, 중량평균분자량이 300 내지 3,000g/mol, Z 평균분자량이 400 내지 4,000g/mol일 수 있다. 상기와 같은 분자량을 가질 경우 수소 첨가 반응 후에도 저분자량의 유기물 방출 등의 표면 오염을 방지할 수 있고, 우수한 접착력을 발현할 수 있다.
이러한 특성으로 인해 상기 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지는 다른 고분자와 혼합되어 우수한 접착력을 구현하는 핫멜트 점착제 또는 접착제로 제공할 수 있다. 특히, 상기 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지는 다양한 물성의 고분자에 점착 부여 수지로 기능할 수 있어 여러 기술분야에 사용될 것으로 기대된다.
이하 본 발명을 실시예를 참조하여 상세히 설명한다. 그러나 이들은 본 발명을 보다 상세하게 설명하기 위한 것으로, 본 발명의 권리범위가 하기의 실시예에 의해 한정되는 것은 아니다.
또한 명세서에서 특별히 기재하지 않은 첨가물의 단위는 중량%일 수 있다.
[물성측정방법]
1.분자량
겔 투과 크로마토그래피(GPC)(Infinity1260)에 의해 폴리스티렌 환산 중량평균분자량(Mw), Z평균분자량(Mz) 및 수평균분자량(Mn)을 측정하였다. 측정하는 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지는 0.05 중량%의 농도가 되도록 테트라하이드로퓨란(tetrahydrofuran)에 용해시켜 GPC에 10㎕를 주입하였다. GPC의 이동상은 테트라하이드로퓨란(tetrahydrofuran)을 사용하고, 1mL/분의 유속으로 유입하였으며, 분석은 35℃에서 수행하였다. 컬럼은 Guard column 1개와 PL gel 5㎛ 50A, PL gel 5㎛ 100A, oligopore 300A 3개를 직렬로 연결하였다. 검출기로는 굴절률 검출기 (RID) 를 이용하여 35℃에서 측정하였다.
2.연화점
Ring and ball softening method(ASTM E 28)을 이용하여 측정하였다. 환 모양의 틀에 수지를 녹여 투입하고, 글리세린이 담긴 비커에 거치한 다음, 수지가 담긴 환에 볼을 올려놓고 온도를 분당 2.5℃씩 승온시켜 수지가 녹아 볼이 떨어질 때의 온도(연화점)를 측정하였다.
[실시예 1]
디사이클로펜타디엔 970g, 피페릴렌 30g을 자일렌 용매 1,000g에 혼합한 단량체 조성물을 준비하였다. 상기 단량체 조성물을 내부 부피가 0.416 L인 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기(CSTR)에 연속적으로 공급하면서, 온도 260℃ 및 압력 25 bar의 조건 하에서 30분동안 교반하면서 반응하여 1차 중합물을 제조하였다.
상기와 같이 제조된 1차 중합물을 상기 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기와 연결된 내부부피가 0.590 L인 플러그 흐름 반응기(PFR)에 연속적으로 공급하면서, 온도 272℃ 및 압력 25 bar의 조건 하에서 45분동안 중합하였다. 중합이 완료된 생성물을 200℃에서 30분 동안 감압하여 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지를 회수하였다.
[실시예 2]
디사이클로펜타디엔 950g, 피페릴렌 50g을 자일렌 용매 1,000g에 혼합한 단량체 조성물을 준비하였다. 상기 단량체 조성물을 내부 부피가 0.416 L인 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기에 연속적으로 공급하면서, 온도 260℃ 및 압력 25 bar의 조건 하에서 30분동안 교반하면서 반응하여 1차 중합물을 제조하였다.
상기와 같이 제조된 1차 중합물을 상기 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기와 연결된 내부부피가 0.590 L인 플러그 흐름 반응기에 연속적으로 공급하면서, 온도 272℃ 및 압력 25 bar의 조건 하에서 45분동안 중합하였다. 중합이 완료된 생성물을 200℃에서 30 분 동안 감압하여 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지를 회수하였다.
[실시예 3]
디사이클로펜타디엔 900g, 피페릴렌 100g을 자일렌 용매 1000g에 혼합한 단량체 조성물을 준비하였다. 상기 단량체 조성물을 내부 부피가 0.416 L인 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기에 연속적으로 공급하면서, 온도 260℃ 및 압력 25 bar의 조건 하에서 30분동안 교반하면서 반응하여 1차 중합물을 제조하였다.
상기와 같이 제조된 1차 중합물을 상기 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기와 연결된 내부부피가 0.590 L인 플러그 흐름 반응기에 연속적으로 공급하면서, 온도 272℃ 및 압력 25 bar의 조건 하에서 45분동안 중합하였다. 중합이 완료된 생성물을 200℃에서 30 분 동안 감압하여 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지를 회수하였다.
[실시예 4]
디사이클로펜타디엔 750g, 피페릴렌 50g, 스티렌 250g을 자일렌 용매 1,000g에 혼합한 단량체 조성물을 준비하였다. 상기 단량체 조성물을 내부 부피가 0.416 L인 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기에 연속적으로 공급하면서, 온도 260℃ 및 압력 25 bar의 조건 하에서 34분동안 교반하면서 반응하여 1차 중합물을 제조하였다.
상기와 같이 제조된 1차 중합물을 상기 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기와 연결된 내부부피가 0.590 L인 플러그 흐름 반응기에 연속적으로 공급하면서, 온도 278℃ 및 압력 25 bar의 조건 하에서 51분동안 중합하였다. 중합이 완료된 생성물을 200℃에서 30 분 동안 감압하여 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지를 회수하였다.
[실시예 5]
디사이클로펜타디엔 650g, 피페릴렌 100g, 스티렌250g을 자일렌 용매 1,000g에 혼합한 단량체 조성물을 준비하였다. 상기 단량체 조성물을 내부 부피가 0.416 L인 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기에 연속적으로 공급하면서, 온도 260℃ 및 압력 25 bar의 조건 하에서 34분동안 교반하면서 반응하여 1차 중합물을 제조하였다.
상기와 같이 제조된 1차 중합물을 상기 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기와 연결된 내부부피가 0.590 L인 플러그 흐름 반응기에 연속적으로 공급하면서, 온도 278℃ 및 압력 25 bar의 조건 하에서 51분동안 중합하였다. 중합이 완료된 생성물을 200℃에서 30 분 동안 감압하여 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지를 회수하였다.
[실시예 6]
디사이클로펜타디엔 600g, 피페릴렌 150g, 스티렌250g을 자일렌 용매 1,000g에 혼합한 단량체 조성물을 준비하였다. 상기 단량체 조성물을 내부 부피가 0.416 L인 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기에 연속적으로 공급하면서, 온도 260℃ 및 압력 25 bar의 조건 하에서 34분동안 교반하면서 반응하여 1차 중합물을 제조하였다.
상기와 같이 제조된 1차 중합물을 상기 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기와 연결된 내부부피가 0.590 L인 플러그 흐름 반응기에 연속적으로 공급하면서, 온도 278℃ 및 압력 25 bar의 조건 하에서 51분동안 중합하였다. 중합이 완료된 생성물을 200℃에서 30 분 동안 감압하여 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지를 회수하였다.
[실시예 7]
디사이클로펜타디엔 600g, 피페릴렌 100g, 스티렌300g을 자일렌 용매 1,000g에 혼합한 단량체 조성물을 준비하였다. 상기 단량체 조성물을 내부 부피가 0.416 L인 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기에 연속적으로 공급하면서, 온도 260℃ 및 압력 25 bar의 조건 하에서 36분동안 교반하면서 반응하여 1차 중합물을 제조하였다.
상기와 같이 제조된 1차 중합물을 상기 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기와 연결된 내부부피가 0.590 L인 플러그 흐름 반응기에 연속적으로 공급하면서, 온도 278℃ 및 압력 25 bar의 조건 하에서 54분동안 중합하였다. 중합이 완료된 생성물을 200℃에서 30 분 동안 감압하여 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지를 회수하였다.
[비교예 1]
디사이클로펜타디엔 1,000g을 자일렌 용매 1,000g에 혼합한 단량체 조성물을 준비하였다. 상기 단량체 조성물을 내부 부피가 0.416 L인 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기(CSTR)에 연속적으로 공급하면서, 온도 260℃ 및 압력 25 bar의 조건하에서 30분동안 교반하면서 반응하여 1차 중합물을 제조하였다.

디사이클로펜타디엔 1,000g을 자일렌 용매 1,000g에 혼합한 단량체 조성물을 준비하였다. 상기 단량체 조성물을 내부 부피가 0.590 L인 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기(PFR)연속적으로 공급하면서, 온도 260℃ 및 압력 25 bar의 조건 하에서 30분동안 1차 중합물을 제조하였다.
상기와 같이 제조된 1차 중합물을 상기 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기와 연결된 내부부피가 0.590 L인 플러그 흐름 반응기(PFR)에 연속적으로 공급하면서, 온도 272℃ 및 압력 25 bar의 조건 하에서 45분동안 중합하였다. 중합이 완료된 생성물을 200℃에서 30 분 동안 감압하여 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지를 회수하였다.
[비교예 3]
디사이클로펜타디엔 1,000g을 자일렌 용매 1,000g에 혼합한 단량체 조성물을 준비하였다. 상기 단량체 조성물을 내부 부피가 0.416 L인 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기(CSTR)에 연속적으로 공급하면서, 온도 260℃ 및 압력 25 bar의 조건하에서 30분동안 교반하면서 반응하여 1차 중합물을 제조하였다.

디사이클로펜타디엔 750g, 스티렌250g 를 자일렌 용매 1,000g에 혼합한 단량체 조성물을 준비하였다. 상기 단량체 조성물을 내부 부피가 0.416 L인 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기에 연속적으로 공급하면서, 온도 260℃ 및 압력 25 bar의 조건 하에서 34분동안 교반하면서 반응하여 1차 중합물을 제조하였다.

[비교예 5]
디사이클로펜타디엔 700g, 스티렌300g 를 자일렌 용매 1,000g에 혼합한 단량체 조성물을 준비하였다. 상기 단량체 조성물을 내부 부피가 0.416 L인 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기에 연속적으로 공급하면서, 온도 260℃ 및 압력 25 bar의 조건 하에서 34분동안 교반하면서 반응하여 1차 중합물을 제조하였다.
상기와 같이 제조된 1차 중합물을 상기 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기와 연결된 내부부피가 0.590 L인 플러그 흐름 반응기에 연속적으로 공급하면서, 온도 278℃ 및 압력 25 bar의 조건 하에서 51분동안 중합하였다. 중합이 완료된 생성물을 200℃에서 30 분 동안 감압하여 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지를 회수하였다.

상기 표 2에 나타낸 바와 같이, 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지는 비교예에 대비하여 높은 수율 및 좁은 분자량 분포를 갖는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.
더욱이, 비교예 2, 3의 경우 1차 및 2차 중합의 반응기 구성을 동일하도록 함으로써 분자량 분포가 넓고 수율도 낮은 것을 확인할 수 있었다. 이를 통하여 1차 및 2차 중합 시 반응기 구성을 상이하게 구성하고, 제1단계에 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기에서 교반중합하고, 2차 중합에 플러그 흐름 반응기에서 중합함으로써 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지의 우수한 수율과 좁은 분자량 분포를 구현할 수 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.
더욱이, 본 발명의 실시예에 따른 제조방법으로 제조된 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지는 비촉매 조건에서 열중합함으로써, 좁은 분자량 분포를 가질 수 있고, 균일한 물성을 구현할 수 있는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.
[실시예 8]
상기 실시예 1에서의 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지의 총 중향에 대하여 팔라듐 촉매 0.5중량%, 수소량 4NL/min를 사용하여 온도 260℃, 압력 100bar의 조건 하에서 2회 수첨 반응을 수행하였다.
[비교예 6]
상기 비교예 1의 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지를 실시예 8과 동일한 방법으로 수첨 반응을 수행하였다.
[비교예 7]
상기 비교예 2의 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지를 실시예 8과 동일한 방법으로 수첨 반응을 수행하였다.
[비교예 8]
상기 비교예 3의 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지를 실시예 8과 동일한 방법으로 수첨 반응을 수행하였다.
상기 실시예 8, 비교예 6, 7 및 8에서 제조된 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수첨 수지의 접착력을 평가하기 위하여 스티렌-부타디엔-스티렌 공중합체 25중량부, 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수첨 수지 57중량부, 파라핀 오일 가소제 18중량부 및 산화방지제 0.5중량부를 더하여 접착제 조성물을 제조하였다.
상기와 같이 제조된 접착제 조성물을 단면 코로나 처리된 100㎛ PET film에 자동도공기로 36㎛의 습윤 두께로 도포하였다. 도포된 필름을 100℃에서 30분간 건조하여 용매를 제거하고 LLOYD사의 FT-1 만능재료시험기를 사용하여 180°의 박리강도(Peel strength)와 루프텍 테스트(loop tack test)를 측정하여 표 3에 나타내었다.

상기 표 3에 나타낸 바와 같이, 상기 실시예 8의 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수첨 수지는 비교예로 제조된 수첨 수지에 대비하여 현저히 향상된 박리강도 및 텍 포스를 가짐으로써 우수한 접착력을 가지는 것을 확인할 수 있었다.
또한, 상기 실시예 8의 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수첨 수지는 장기사용에 따른 이행의 증가에도 접착 표면의 오염이나 주변장치의 오염 발생이 발생되지 않아 장기적으로 우수한 접착력 및 유지력을 발현하는 것을 확인하였다.
이상에서 설명된 본 발명은 예시적인 것에 불과하며, 본 발명이 속한 기술분야의 통상의 지식을 가진 자라면 이로부터 다양한 변형 및 균등한 타 실시예가 가능하다는 점을 잘 알 수 있을 것이다. 그러므로 본 발명은 상기의 상세한 설명에서 언급되는 형태로만 한정되는 것은 아님을 잘 이해할 수 있을 것이다. 따라서 본 발명의 진정한 기술적 보호 범위는 첨부된 특허청구범위의 기술적 사상에 의해 정해져야 할 것이다.
따라서, 본 발명의 사상은 설명된 실시예에 국한되어 정해져서는 아니되며, 후술하는 특허청구범위뿐 아니라 이 특허청구범위와 균등하거나 등가적 변형이 있는 모든 것들은 본 발명 사상의 범주에 속한다고 할 것이다.
Claims (12)
- a)디사이클로펜타디엔 및 C 2-C 20 올레핀계 단량체의 혼합단량체 또는 디사이클로펜타디엔, C 2-C 20 올레핀계 단량체 및 방향족 비닐계 단량체의 혼합단량체를 포함하는 단량체 조성물을 비촉매 조건 하에 연속식 교반 탱크형 반응기(CSTR)에서 열중합하는 1차 열중합 단계 및b)상기 1차 열중합의 반응 생성물에 대하여, 비촉매 조건하에 플러그 흐름 반응기(PFR)에서 열중합하는 2차 열중합 단계를 포함하는 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지의 제조방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 디사이클로펜타디엔 및 C 2-C 20 올레핀계 단량체의 혼합단량체는 디사이클로펜타디엔 및 C 2-C 20 올레핀계 단량체가 50:50 내지 99:1중량비로 포함하는 것인 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지의 제조방법.
- 제1항에 있어서,상기 올레핀계 단량체는 피페릴렌, 이소프렌, 에틸렌, 프로필렌, 1-부텐, 1-펜텐, 1-헥센, 1-헵텐, 1-옥텐, 1-데센, 1-운데센, 1-도데센, 1-테트라데센, 1-헥사데센, 및 혼합 C5 유분에서 선택되는 어느 하나 또는 둘 이상의 혼합물을 포함하는디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지의 제조방법.
- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 방향족 비닐계 단량체는 스티렌, 알파-메틸스티렌, 파라-메틸스티렌, 인덴, 메틸 인덴, 비닐톨루엔, 혼합 C9 유분 및 이들의 유도체에서 선택되는 어느 하나 또는 둘 이상의 혼합물인 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지의 제조방법.
- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 a)단계에서의 반응온도(T 1)는 210 내지 270℃이고,상기 b)단계에서의 반응온도(T 2)는 180 내지 300℃인 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지의 제조방법.
- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 a)단계에서의 반응시간은 10 내지 180분이고,상기 b)단계에서의 반응시간은 10 내지 360분인 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지의 제조방법.
- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지는 다분산 지수(PDI)가 2.5이하인 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지의 제조방법.
- 제 1항에 있어서,상기 b)단계 이후 수소 첨가 반응 공정을 더 수행하는 것인 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지의 제조방법.
- 디사이클로펜타디엔 및 C 2-C 20 올레핀계 혼합단량체 또는 디사이클로펜타디엔, C 2-C 20 올레핀계 단량체 및 방향족 비닐계 단량체의 혼합단량체를 포함하는 단량체 조성물을 비촉매, 비개시제 조건하에 열중합시킨 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지.
- 제9항에 있어서,상기 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지는 연속 교반 탱크 반응기(CSTR)에서 1차 열중합 후, 플러그 흐름 반응기(PFR)에서 2차 열중합하는 연속중합으로 제조된 것인 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지.
- 제 9항에 있어서,상기 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지는 수수평균분자량이 200 내지 1,200g/mol이고, 중량평균분자량이 250 내지 4,000g/mol이며, Z 평균분자량(Mz)이 300 내지 5,000g/mol인 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지.
- 제 9항에 있어서,상기 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지는 다분산 지수(PDI)가 2.5이하인 디사이클로펜타디엔계 수지.
