Description

光ファイバ
 本開示は、光ファイバに関する。
 本出願は、2019年6月18日出願の日本出願第2019-112809号に基づく優先権を主張し、前記日本出願に記載された全ての記載内容を援用するものである。
 一般に、光ファイバは、光伝送体であるガラスファイバを保護するための被覆樹脂層を有している。被覆樹脂層は、例えば、プライマリ樹脂層及びセカンダリ樹脂層から構成される。光ファイバが帯電していると、異物付着によって断線し易くなることから、光ファイバをボビンに巻き取る際に巻き不良が起こり易くなる。光ファイバは、帯電し易いため、静電除去機を使用して光ファイバを巻き取ることが行われている(例えば、特許文献1参照)。

 本開示の一態様に係る光ファイバは、コア及びクラッドを含むガラスファイバと、ガラスファイバの外周を被覆する被覆樹脂層と、を備え、被覆樹脂層が、ガラスファイバに接して該ガラスファイバを被覆するプライマリ樹脂層と、プライマリ樹脂層の外周を被覆するセカンダリ樹脂層とを有し、セカンダリ樹脂層は、疎水性球状シリカ粒子を含み、該シリカ粒子の含有量がセカンダリ樹脂層の総量を基準として7質量%以上60質量%以下であり、光ファイバの表面電位の絶対値が、10mV以上60mV以下である。

[本開示が解決しようとする課題]
 光ファイバの巻き取り不良を防ぐためには、静電除去機を数箇所に設置する必要があり、設備費、維持費等のコストがかかる。そこで、光ファイバには、帯電し難く、異物付着による断線を低減することが求められる。
 本開示は、帯電を抑制して異物等の付着による断線を低減することができる光ファイバを提供することを目的とする。
[本開示の効果]
 本開示によれば、帯電を抑制して異物等の付着による断線を低減することができる光ファイバを提供することができる。
[本開示の実施形態の説明]
 最初に、本開示の実施形態の内容を列記して説明する。本開示の一態様に係る光ファイバは、コア及びクラッドを含むガラスファイバと、ガラスファイバの外周を被覆する被覆樹脂層と、を備え、被覆樹脂層が、ガラスファイバに接して該ガラスファイバを被覆するプライマリ樹脂層と、プライマリ樹脂層の外周を被覆するセカンダリ樹脂層とを有し、セカンダリ樹脂層は、疎水性球状シリカ粒子を含み、該シリカ粒子の含有量がセカンダリ樹脂層の総量を基準として7質量%以上60質量%以下であり、光ファイバの表面電位の絶対値が、10mV以上60mV以下である。
 上記シリカ粒子がセカンダリ樹脂層に均一に分散することによって、光ファイバの表面電位の絶対値を大きくすることができ、光ファイバの帯電を抑制して異物等の付着による光ファイバの断線を低減できると考えられる。
 樹脂層中の分散性に優れ、光ファイバの表面電位を調整し易いことから、上記シリカ粒子の平均粒径は、5nm以上400nm以下であってよい。
 光ファイバの強度を向上することから、セカンダリ樹脂層のヤング率は、23℃で1200MPa以上3000MPa以下であってよい。
 光ファイバの外径は、200±15μmであってよい。本実施形態に係るセカンダリ樹脂層を有することから、細径の光ファイバであっても断線し難い。光ファイバの帯電を抑制して異物等の付着による断線を低減する観点から、セカンダリ樹脂層は、ウレタン(メタ)アクリレートを含むオリゴマー、モノマー及び光重合開始剤を含有するベース樹脂と、疎水性球状シリカ粒子とを含む樹脂組成物の硬化物を含んでよい。
[本開示の実施形態の詳細]
 本実施形態に係る樹脂組成物及び光ファイバの具体例を、必要により図面を参照しつつ説明する。なお、本発明はこれらの例示に限定されず、請求の範囲によって示され、請求の範囲と均等の意味及び範囲内でのすべての変更が含まれることが意図される。以下の説明では、図面の説明において同一の要素には同一の符号を付し、重複する説明を省略する。
<光ファイバ>
 図1は、本実施形態に係る光ファイバの一例を示す概略断面図である。光ファイバ10は、コア11及びクラッド12を含むガラスファイバ13と、ガラスファイバ13の外周に設けられたプライマリ樹脂層14及びセカンダリ樹脂層15を含む被覆樹脂層16とを備えている。
 クラッド12はコア11を取り囲んでいる。コア11及びクラッド12は石英ガラス等のガラスを主に含み、例えば、コア11にはゲルマニウムを添加した石英ガラス、又は、純石英ガラスを用いることができ、クラッド12には純石英ガラス、又は、フッ素が添加された石英ガラスを用いることができる。
 図1において、例えば、ガラスファイバ13の外径(D2)は100μmから125μm程度であり、ガラスファイバ13を構成するコア11の直径(D1)は、7μmから15μm程度である。被覆樹脂層16の厚さは、通常、22μmから70μm程度である。プライマリ樹脂層14及びセカンダリ樹脂層15の各層の厚さは、5μmから50μm程度であってもよい。
 ガラスファイバ13の外径(D2)が125μm程度で、被覆樹脂層16の厚さが60μm以上70μm以下の場合、プライマリ樹脂層14及びセカンダリ樹脂層15の各層の厚さは、10μmから50μm程度であってよく、例えば、プライマリ樹脂層14の厚さが35μmで、セカンダリ樹脂層15の厚さが25μmであってよい。光ファイバ10の外径は、245μmから265μm程度であってよい。
 ガラスファイバ13の外径(D2)が125μm程度で、被覆樹脂層16の厚さが27μm以上48μm以下の場合、プライマリ樹脂層14及びセカンダリ樹脂層15の各層の厚さは、10μmから38μm程度であってよく、例えば、プライマリ樹脂層14の厚さが25μmで、セカンダリ樹脂層15の厚さが10μmであってよい。光ファイバ10の外径は、179μmから221μm程度であってよい。
 ガラスファイバ13の外径(D2)が100μm程度で、被覆樹脂層16の厚さが22μm以上37μm以下の場合、プライマリ樹脂層14及びセカンダリ樹脂層15の各層の厚さは、5μmから32μm程度であってよく、例えば、プライマリ樹脂層14の厚さが25μmで、セカンダリ樹脂層15の厚さが10μmであってよい。光ファイバ10の外径は、144μmから174μm程度であってよい。
 光ファイバの帯電を抑制することから、光ファイバの表面電位の絶対値は、10mV以上60mV以下であり、10mV以上50mV以下が好ましく、15mV以上40mV以下がより好ましい。
(セカンダリ樹脂層)
 光ファイバの帯電を抑制して異物等の付着による断線を低減する観点から、セカンダリ樹脂層15は、ウレタン(メタ)アクリレートを含むオリゴマー、モノマー及び光重合開始剤を含有するベース樹脂と、疎水性球状シリカ粒子とを含む樹脂組成物を硬化させて形成することができる。すなわち、セカンダリ樹脂層15は、ウレタン(メタ)アクリレートを含むオリゴマー、モノマー及び光重合開始剤を含有するベース樹脂と、疎水性球状シリカ粒子とを含む樹脂組成物の硬化物を含んでよい。
 ここで、(メタ)アクリレートとは、アクリレート又はそれに対応するメタクリレートを意味する。(メタ)アクリル酸等についても同様である。
 本実施形態に係るシリカ粒子は、球状の粒子であり、その表面が疎水処理されている。本実施形態に係る疎水処理とは、シリカ粒子の表面に疎水性の基が導入されていることをいう。疎水性の基が導入されたシリカ粒子は、樹脂組成物中の分散性に優れている。疎水性の基は、(メタ)アクリロイル基等の反応性基(紫外線硬化性の官能基)、又は、脂肪族炭化水素基(例えば、アルキル基)、芳香族炭化水素基(例えば、フェニル基)等の非反応性基であってもよい。シリカ粒子が反応性基を有する場合、ヤング率が高い樹脂層を形成し易くなる。
 光ファイバの帯電を抑制して異物等の付着による断線を低減し易いことから、本実施形態に係るシリカ粒子は、紫外線硬化性の官能基を有してもよい。紫外線硬化性の官能基を有するシラン化合物で球状シリカ粒子を処理することで、球状シリカ粒子の表面に紫外線硬化性の官能基を導入することができる。
 紫外線硬化性の官能基を有するシラン化合物としては、例えば、3-メタクリロキシプロピルトリメトキシシラン、3-アクリロキシプロピルトリメトキシシラン、3-メタクリロキシプロピルトリエトキシシラン、3-アクリロキシプロピルトリエトキシシラン、8-メタクリロキシオクチルトリメトキシシラン、8-アクリロキシオクチルトリメトキシシラン、7-オクテニルトリメトキシシラン、ビニルトリメトキシシラン及びビニルトリエトキシシランが挙げられる。
 本実施形態に係るシリカ粒子は、分散媒に分散されている。分散媒に分散されたシリカ粒子を用いることで、樹脂組成物中にシリカ粒子を均一に分散でき、該樹脂組成物から形成される樹脂層中でも分散した状態でシリカ粒子が存在する。分散媒としては、樹脂組成物の硬化を阻害しなければ、特に限定されない。分散媒は、反応性であっても、非反応性であってもよい。
 反応性の分散媒として、(メタ)アクリロイル化合物、エポキシ化合物等のモノマーを用いてもよい。(メタ)アクリロイル化合物としては、例えば、1,6-ヘキサンジオールジ(メタ)アクリレート、EO変性ビスフェノールAジ(メタ)アクリレート、ポリエチレングリコールジ(メタ)アクリレート、PO変性ビスフェノールAジ(メタ)アクリレート、ポリプロピレングリコールジ(メタ)アクリレート、ポリテトラメチレングリコールジ(メタ)アクリレート、2-ヒドロキシ-3-フェノキシプロピルアクリレート、プロピレングリコールジグリシジルエーテルの(メタ)アクリル酸付加物、トリプロピレングリコールジグリシジルエーテルの(メタ)アクリル酸付加物、及びグリセリンジグリシジルエーテルの(メタ)アクリル酸付加物が挙げられる。(メタ)アクリロイル化合物として、後述するモノマーで例示する化合物を用いてもよい。
 非反応性の分散媒として、メチルエチルケトン(MEK)等のケトン系溶媒、メタノール(MeOH)等のアルコール系溶媒、又は、プロピレングリコールモノメチルエーテルアセテート(PGMEA)等のエステル系溶媒を用いてもよい。非反応性の分散媒の場合、ベース樹脂と分散媒に分散された球状シリカ粒子とを混合した後、分散媒の一部を除去して樹脂組成物を調製してもよい。
 分散媒に分散されたシリカ粒子は、樹脂組成物の硬化後も樹脂層中に分散した状態で存在する。反応性の分散媒を使用した場合、シリカ粒子は樹脂組成物に分散媒ごと混合され、分散状態が維持されたまま樹脂層中に取り込まれる。非反応性の分散媒を使用した場合、分散媒は少なくともその一部が樹脂組成物から揮発して無くなるが、シリカ粒子は分散状態のまま樹脂組成物中に残り、硬化後の樹脂層にも分散した状態で存在する。樹脂層中に存在するシリカ粒子は、電子顕微鏡で観察した場合に、一次粒子が分散した状態で観察される。
 樹脂層に適度な硬さを付与し易い等の観点から、本実施形態に係るシリカ粒子として、紫外線硬化性の官能基を有するシリカ粒子を用いることが好ましい。
 セカンダリ樹脂層に適度な靱性を付与する観点から、シリカ粒子の平均一次粒径は、400nm以下が好ましく、300nm以下がより好ましい。セカンダリ樹脂層のヤング率を高くする観点から、シリカ粒子の平均一次粒径は、5nm以上が好ましく、10nm以上がより好ましい。平均一次粒径は、例えば、電子顕微鏡写真の画像解析、光散乱法、BET法等によって測定することができる。無機酸化物の一次粒子が分散された分散媒は、一次粒子の粒径が小さい場合は目視で透明に見える。一次粒子の粒径が比較的大きい(40nm以上)場合は、一次粒子が分散された分散媒は白濁して見えるが沈降物は観察されない。
 疎水性球状シリカ粒子の含有量は、樹脂組成物の総量(ベース樹脂及びシリカ粒子の総量)を基準として7質量%以上60質量%以下が好ましく、8質量%以上55質量%以下がより好ましく、10質量%以上50質量%以下が更に好ましい。疎水性球状シリカ粒子の含有量が7質量%以上であると、光ファイバの表面電位の絶対値を大きくし易くなる。疎水性球状シリカ粒子の含有量が60質量%以下であると、樹脂組成物のヤング率を調整して、強靱な樹脂層を形成することができる。なお、樹脂組成物の総量は硬化によりほとんど変化しないため、樹脂組成物の総量は樹脂組成物の硬化物の総量と考えてもよい。
 本実施形態に係るベース樹脂は、ウレタン(メタ)アクリレートを含むオリゴマー、モノマー及び光重合開始剤を含有する。
 ウレタン(メタ)アクリレートとしては、ポリオール化合物、ポリイソシアネート化合物及び水酸基含有(メタ)アクリレート化合物を反応させて得られるオリゴマーを用いることができる。
 ポリオール化合物としては、例えば、ポリテトラメチレングリコール、ポリプロピレングリコール及びビスフェノールA・エチレンオキサイド付加ジオールが挙げられる。ポリオール化合物の数平均分子量は、400以上1000以下であってもよい。ポリイソシアネート化合物としては、例えば、2,4-トリレンジイソシアネート、2,6-トリレンジイソシアネート、イソホロンジイソシアネート及びジシクロヘキシルメタン4,4’-ジイソシアナートが挙げられる。水酸基含有(メタ)アクリレート化合物としては、例えば、2-ヒドロキシエチル(メタ)アクリレート、2-ヒドロキシブチル(メタ)アクリレート、1,6-ヘキサンジオールモノ(メタ)アクリレート、ペンタエリスリトールトリ(メタ)アクリレート、2-ヒドロキシプロピル(メタ)アクリレート及びトリプロピレングリコールモノ(メタ)アクリレートが挙げられる。
 ウレタン(メタ)アクリレートを合成する際の触媒として、一般に有機スズ化合物が使用される。有機スズ化合物としては、例えば、ジブチルスズジラウレート、ジブチルスズジアセテート、ジブチルスズマレート、ジブチルスズビス(メルカプト酢酸2-エチルヘキシル)、ジブチルスズビス(メルカプト酢酸イソオクチル)及びジブチルスズオキシドが挙げられる。易入手性又は触媒性能の点から、触媒としてジブチルスズジラウレート又はジブチルスズジアセテートを使用することが好ましい。
 ウレタン(メタ)アクリレートの合成時に炭素数5以下の低級アルコールを使用してもよい。低級アルコールとしては、例えば、メタノール、エタノール、1-プロパノール、2-プロパノール、1-ブタノール、2-ブタノール、2-メチル-2-プロパノール、1-ペンタノール、2-ペンタノール、3-ペンタノール、2-メチル-1-ブタノール、3-メチル-1-ブタノール、2-メチル-2-ブタノール、3-メチル-2-ブタノール及び2,2-ジメチル-1-プロパノールが挙げられる。
 光ファイバの表面電位を高くし易いことから、オリゴマーは、エポキシ(メタ)アクリレートを更に含んでもよい。エポキシ(メタ)アクリレートとしては、グリシジル基を2以上有するエポキシ樹脂に(メタ)アクリロイル基を有する化合物を反応させて得られるオリゴマーを用いることができる。
 光ファイバの靱性を高めることから、エポキシ(メタ)アクリレートの含有量は、オリゴマー及びモノマーの総量を基準として、10質量%以上55質量%以下が好ましく、15質量%以上50質量%以下がより好ましく、20質量%以上45質量%以下が更に好ましい。
 モノマーとしては、重合性基を1つ有する単官能モノマー、及び重合性基を2つ以上有する多官能モノマーからなる群より選ばれる少なくとも1種を用いることができる。モノマーは、2種以上を混合して用いてもよい。
 単官能モノマーとしては、例えば、メチル(メタ)アクリレート、エチル(メタ)アクリレート、プロピル(メタ)アクリレート、n-ブチル(メタ)アクリレート、s-ブチル(メタ)アクリレート、tert-ブチル(メタ)アクリレート、イソブチル(メタ)アクリレート、n-ペンチル(メタ)アクリレート、イソペンチル(メタ)アクリレート、へキシル(メタ)アクリレート、ヘプチル(メタ)アクリレート、イソアミル(メタ)アクリレート、2-エチルヘキシル(メタ)アクリレート、n-オクチル(メタ)アクリレート、イソオクチル(メタ)アクリレート、イソデシル(メタ)アクリレート、ラウリル(メタ)アクリレート、2-フェノキシエチル(メタ)アクリレート、3-フェノキシベンジルアクリレート、フェノキシジエチレングリコールアクリレート、フェノキシポリエチレングリコールアクリレート、4-tert-ブチルシクロヘキサノールアクリレート、テトラヒドロフルフリル(メタ)アクリレート、ベンジル(メタ)アクリレート、ジシクロペンテニル(メタ)アクリレート、ジシクロペンテニルオキシエチル(メタ)アクリレート、ジシクロペンタニル(メタ)アクリレート、ノニルフェノールポリエチレングリコール(メタ)アクリレート、ノニルフェノキシポリエチレングリコール(メタ)アクリレート、イソボルニル(メタ)アクリレート等の(メタ)アクリレート系モノマー;(メタ)アクリル酸、(メタ)アクリル酸ダイマー、カルボキシエチル(メタ)アクリレート、カルボキシペンチル(メタ)アクリレート、ω-カルボキシ-ポリカプロラクトン(メタ)アクリレート等のカルボキシル基含有モノマー;N-(メタ)アクリロイルモルホリン、N-ビニルピロリドン、N-ビニルカプロラクタム、N-アクリロイルピペリジン、N-メタクリロイルピペリジン、N-(メタ)アクリロイルピロリジン、3-(3-ピリジン)プロピル(メタ)アクリレート、環状トリメチロールプロパンホルマールアクリレート等の複素環含有モノマー;マレイミド、N-シクロへキシルマレイミド、N-フェニルマレイミド等のマレイミド系モノマー;(メタ)アクリルアミド、N,N-ジメチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N,N-ジエチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-ヘキシル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-メチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-ブチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-ブチル(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-メチロール(メタ)アクリルアミド、N-メチロールプロパン(メタ)アクリルアミド等のアミド系モノマー;(メタ)アクリル酸アミノエチル、(メタ)アクリル酸アミノプロピル、(メタ)アクリル酸N,N-ジメチルアミノエチル、(メタ)アクリル酸tert-ブチルアミノエチル等の(メタ)アクリル酸アミノアルキル系モノマー;N-(メタ)アクリロイルオキシメチレンスクシンイミド、N-(メタ)アクリロイル-6-オキシヘキサメチレンスクシンイミド、N-(メタ)アクリロイル-8-オキシオクタメチレンスクシンイミド等のスクシンイミド系モノマーが挙げられる。
 多官能モノマーとしては、例えば、エチレングリコールジ(メタ)アクリレート、ポリエチレングリコールジ(メタ)アクリレート、ポリプロピレングリコールジ(メタ)アクリレート、ネオペンチルグリコールジ(メタ)アクリレート、トリプロピレングリコールジ(メタ)アクリレート、ビスフェノールAのアルキレンオキシド付加物のジ(メタ)アクリレート、テトラエチレングリコールジ(メタ)アクリレート、ヒドロキシピバリン酸ネオペンチルグリコールジ(メタ)アクリレート、1,4-ブタンジオールジ(メタ)アクリレート、1,6-ヘキサンジオールジ(メタ)アクリレート、1,9-ノナンジオールジ(メタ)アクリレート、1,12-ドデカンジオールジ(メタ)アクリレート、1,14-テトラデカンジオールジ(メタ)アクリレート、1,16-ヘキサデカンジオールジ(メタ)アクリレート、1,20-エイコサンジオールジ(メタ)アクリレート、イソペンチルジオールジ(メタ)アクリレート、3-エチル-1,8-オクタンジオールジ(メタ)アクリレート、ビスフェノールAのEO付加物ジ(メタ)アクリレート等の重合性基を2つ有するモノマー;及びトリメチロールプロパントリ(メタ)アクリレート、トリメチロールオクタントリ(メタ)アクリレート、トリメチロールプロパンポリエトキシトリ(メタ)アクリレート、トリメチロールプロパンポリプロポキシトリ(メタ)アクリレート、トリメチロールプロパンポリエトキシポリプロポキシトリ(メタ)アクリレート、トリス[(メタ)アクリロイルオキシエチル]イソシアヌレート、ペンタエリスリトールトリ(メタ)アクリレート、ペンタエリスリトールポリエトキシテトラ(メタ)アクリレート、ペンタエリスリトールポリプロポキシテトラ(メタ)アクリレート、ペンタエリスリトールテトラ(メタ)アクリレート、ジトリメチロールプロパンテトラ(メタ)アクリレート、ジペンタエリスリトールテトラ(メタ)アクリレート、ジペンタエリスリトールペンタ(メタ)アクリレート、ジペンタエリスリトールヘキサ(メタ)アクリレート、カプロラクトン変性トリス[(メタ)アクリロイルオキシエチル]イソシアヌレート等の重合性基を3つ以上有するモノマーが挙げられる。
 樹脂層のヤング率を高める観点から、モノマーは、多官能モノマーを含むことが好ましく、重合性基を2つ有するモノマーを含むことがより好ましい。
 光重合開始剤としては、公知のラジカル光重合開始剤の中から適宜選択して使用することができる。光重合開始剤として、例えば、1-ヒドロキシシクロヘキシルフェニルケトン(Omnirad 184、IGM Resins社製)、2,2-ジメトキシ-2-フェニルアセトフェノン、1-(4-イソプロピルフェニル)-2-ヒドロキシ-2-メチルプロパン-1-オン、ビス(2,6-ジメトキシベンゾイル)-2,4,4-トリメチルペンチルホスフィンオキサイド、2-メチル-1-[4-(メチルチオ)フェニル]-2-モルホリノ-プロパン-1-オン(Omnirad 907、IGM Resins社製)、2,4,6-トリメチルベンゾイルジフェニルホスフィンオキシド(Omnirad TPO、IGM Resins社製)及びビス(2,4,6-トリメチルベンゾイル)フェニルホスフィンオキシド(Omnirad 819、IGM Resins社製)が挙げられる。
 樹脂組成物は、シランカップリング剤、レベリング剤、消泡剤、酸化防止剤、増感剤等を更に含有してもよい。
 シランカップリング剤としては、樹脂組成物の硬化の妨げにならなければ、特に限定されない。シランカップリング剤として、例えば、テトラメチルシリケート、テトラエチルシリケート、メルカプトプロピルトリメトキシシラン、ビニルトリクロロシラン、ビニルトリエトキシシラン、ビニルトリス(β-メトキシ-エトキシ)シラン、β-(3,4-エポキシシクロヘキシル)-エチルトリメトキシシラン、ジメトキシジメチルシラン、ジエトキシジメチルシラン、3-アクリロキシプロピルトリメトキシシラン、γ-グリシドキシプロピルトリメトキシシラン、γ-グリシドキシプロピルメチルジエトキシシラン、γ-メタクリロキシプロピルトリメトキシシラン、N-(β-アミノエチル)-γ-アミノプロピルトリメトキシシラン、N-(β-アミノエチル)-γ-アミノプロピルトリメチルジメトキシシラン、N-フェニル-γ-アミノプロピルトリメトキシシラン、γ-クロロプロピルトリメトキシシラン、γ-メルカプトプロピルトリメトキシシラン、γ-アミノプロピルトリメトキシシラン、ビス-[3-(トリエトキシシリル)プロピル]テトラスルフィド、ビス-[3-(トリエトキシシリル)プロピル]ジスルフィド、γ-トリメトキシシリルプロピルジメチルチオカルバミルテトラスルフィド及びγ-トリメトキシシリルプロピルベンゾチアジルテトラスルフィドが挙げられる。
 セカンダリ樹脂層のヤング率は、23℃で1200MPa以上3000MPa以下であることが好ましく、1250MPa以上2800MPa以下がより好ましく、1300MPa以上2700MPa以下が更に好ましい。セカンダリ樹脂層のヤング率が1200MPa以上であると、側圧特性を向上し易く、3000MPa以下であると、セカンダリ樹脂層に適度な靱性を付与できるため、低温特性を向上し易くなる。
(プライマリ樹脂層)
 プライマリ樹脂層14は、例えば、ウレタン(メタ)アクリレートを含むオリゴマー、モノマー、光重合開始剤及びシランカップリング剤を含む樹脂組成物を硬化させて形成することができる。プライマリ樹脂層用の樹脂組成物は、従来公知の技術を用いることができる。ウレタン(メタ)アクリレート、モノマー、光重合開始剤及びシランカップリング剤としては、上記ベース樹脂で例示した化合物から適宜、選択してもよい。ただし、プライマリ樹脂層を形成する樹脂組成物は、セカンダリ樹脂層を形成するベース樹脂とは異なる組成を有している。
 光ファイバにボイドが発生することを抑制する観点から、プライマリ樹脂層のヤング率は、23℃で0.04MPa以上1.0MPa以下であることが好ましく、0.05MPa以上0.9MPa以下であることがより好ましく、0.05MPa以上0.8MPa以下であることが更に好ましい。
 以下、本開示に係る実施例及び比較例を用いた評価試験の結果を示し、本開示を更に詳細に説明する。なお、本発明はこれら実施例に限定されない。
[セカンダリ樹脂層用の樹脂組成物]
(オリゴマー)
 オリゴマーとして、分子量600のポリプロピレングリコール、2,4-トリレンジイソシアネート及びヒドロキシエチルアクリレートを反応させることにより得られたウレタンアクリレート(UA)と、ビスフェノールA型のエポキシアクリレート(EA)とを準備した。
(モノマー)
 モノマーとして、トリプロピレングリコールジアクリレート(TPGDA)及び2-フェノキシエチルアクリレート(PO-A)を準備した。
(光重合開始剤)
 光重合開始剤として、1-ヒドロキシシクロヘキシルフェニルケトン(Omnirad 184)及び2,4,6-トリメチルベンゾイルジフェニルホスフィンオキシド(Omnirad TPO)を準備した。
(シリカ粒子)
 シリカ粒子として、表1に示すシリカ粒子(Si-1~Si-4)を含むシリカゾルを準備した。疎水性のシリカ粒子は、メタクリロイル基を有していた。

(樹脂組成物)
 まず、上記オリゴマー、モノマー及び光重合開始剤を混合して、ベース樹脂を調製した。次いで、表2又は表3に示すシリカ粒子の含有量となるように、シリカゾルをベース樹脂と混合した後、分散媒であるMEKの大部分を減圧除去して、セカンダリ樹脂層用の樹脂組成物をそれぞれ作製した。なお、樹脂組成物中に残存しているMEKの含有量は、5質量%以下であった。
 表2及び表3において、オリゴマー及びモノマーの数値は、オリゴマー及びモノマーの総量を基準とする含有量であり、シリカ粒子の数値は、樹脂組成物の総量を基準とする含有量である。
<樹脂組成物の分散状態>
 樹脂組成物をMEKで100倍に希釈し、大塚電子株式会社製のゼータ電位・粒径・分子量測定システム「ELSZ-2000」用いて、電圧200Vにおけるゼータ電位を測定した。ゼータ電位の絶対値が30mVを超える場合をシリカ粒子が樹脂組成物中に均一に分散していると判断とした。
[プライマリ樹脂層用の樹脂組成物]
 分子量4000のポリプロピレングリコール、イソホロンジイソシアネート、ヒドロキシエチルアクリレート及びメタノールを反応させることにより得られるウレタンアクリレートを準備した。このウレタンアクリレート75質量部、ノニルフェノールEO変性アクリレート12質量部、N-ビニルカプロラクタム6質量部、1,6-ヘキサンジオールジアクリレート2質量部、2,4,6-トリメチルベンゾイルジフェニルホスフィンオキシド1質量部、及び3-メルカプトプロピルトリメトキシシラン1質量部を混合して、プライマリ樹脂層用の樹脂組成物を得た。
[光ファイバの作製]
 コア及びクラッドから構成される直径125μmのガラスファイバの外周に、プライマリ樹脂層用の樹脂組成物を用いて厚さ20μmのプライマリ樹脂層を形成し、更にその外周にセカンダリ樹脂層用の樹脂組成物を用いて厚さ15μmのセカンダリ樹脂層を形成して、光ファイバを作製した。線速は1500m/分とした。
(光ファイバの表面電位)
 「ELSZ-2000」用いて、印加電圧60Vにおける光ファイバの表面電位を室温で測定した。測定は、以下の手順で行った。
 まず、モニター粒子として、ポリスチレンラテックス(粒径:520nm)をヒドロキシプロピレンセルロース(Mw:300000)でコーティングした粒子を、10mMのNaCl水溶液に分散させたモニター粒子の溶液を準備した。次いで、光ファイバをスペーサーに100本敷詰めて、「ELSZ-2000」のゼータ電位用のセルにセットした後、ポアサイズ0.1μmのフィルターでろ過したモニター粒子の溶液をセル内に注入した。セル深さ方向でモニター粒子の電気泳動測定を行った。測定されたセル内部の見かけの速度分布を森・岡本式で解析し、光ファイバの表面電位を求めた。
(断線の有無)
 光ファイバを1500m/分で線引きした際、100km線引きして断線しない場合を「A」、断線した場合を「B」とした。

Claims (5)

  1.  コア及びクラッドを含むガラスファイバと、前記ガラスファイバの外周を被覆する被覆樹脂層と、を備える光ファイバであって、
     前記被覆樹脂層が、前記ガラスファイバに接して前記ガラスファイバを被覆するプライマリ樹脂層と、前記プライマリ樹脂層の外周を被覆するセカンダリ樹脂層とを有し、
     前記セカンダリ樹脂層は、疎水性球状シリカ粒子を含み、前記シリカ粒子の含有量が前記セカンダリ樹脂層の総量を基準として7質量%以上60質量%以下であり、
     表面電位の絶対値が、10mV以上60mV以下である、光ファイバ。
  2.  前記シリカ粒子の平均一次粒径が、5nm以上400nm以下である、請求項1に記載の光ファイバ。
  3.  前記セカンダリ樹脂層のヤング率が、23℃で1200MPa以上3000MPa以下である、請求項1又は請求項2に記載の光ファイバ。
  4.  外径が、200±15μmである、請求項1から請求項3のいずれか一項に記載の光ファイバ。
  5.  前記セカンダリ樹脂層が、ウレタン(メタ)アクリレートを含むオリゴマー、モノマー及び光重合開始剤を含有するベース樹脂と、前記シリカ粒子とを含む樹脂組成物の硬化物を含む、請求項1から請求項4のいずれか一項に記載の光ファイバ。
