Definitions
- the present invention relates to a skin treatment technology, and more particularly, to an apparatus for treating skin using radio frequency (RF) for skin treatment or beauty.
- RF radio frequency
- the skin is the largest protective organ of the human body covering the entire body, and is largely composed of three layers: the epidermal layer, the dermal layer, and the subcutaneous fat layer.
- the epidermal layer is a layer on the outermost surface of the skin and is composed of a stratum corneum, a transparent layer, a granule layer, a play layer, and a base layer depending on the location and function.
- the dermal layer is located under the epidermal layer and adjacent to the base layer of the epidermal layer and forms most of the skin.
- water, proteins, sugars, mucopolysaccharides, minerals, inorganic salts, etc. are in a jelly state, and the papillary layer where capillaries related to blood circulation and lymphatic vessels that carry lymph are located, collagen, which is a collagen fiber related to the wrinkles of the skin. It is composed of a reticulated layer containing elastin, an elastic fiber that gives elasticity to the skin, and a matrix.
- the subcutaneous fat layer is located between the dermal layer and muscles and bones, contains a large amount of fat, and constitutes the lowest layer of the skin.
- the subcutaneous fat layer spreads evenly throughout the body and absorbs external pressure and shock by maintaining elasticity and buffering action to prevent damage inside the body and prevent loss of body heat to maintain body temperature.
- Supplement injection therapy is a therapy in which a needle or a small scalpel is stabbed under the skin to break the fibrous tissue under the skin, and supplements such as autologous fat, platelet-rich plasma (PRP), and fillers are injected to regenerate the skin to its original state.
- supplements such as autologous fat, platelet-rich plasma (PRP), and fillers are injected to regenerate the skin to its original state.

- Electric therapy is a therapy that treats a condition by passing an electric current directly to the skin, and has various functions and uses depending on the waveform of the frequency, the strength of the electric current, and the application site.
- high-frequency electrotherapy and low-frequency deep diathermy have been developed and used in a lot according to the applied frequency, and low-frequency electrotherapy uses a frequency of less than 1,000 Hz and high-frequency electrotherapy uses a frequency of 10,000 Hz or more.
- the treatment using high frequency is a method of treating by using deep heat generated in skin tissue when a high frequency signal is applied to a lesion area of the human body.
- Deep heat is biological heat generated by rotational motion, twisting, and collision motions as molecules constituting tissues vibrate and rub against each other whenever the direction of the high-frequency current applied to the human body changes.
- treatment using high-frequency current can heat specific areas of body tissue without stimulating sensory nerves and motor nerves, and without causing discomfort or muscle contraction in the human body.
- Deep heat generated by high frequency increases the temperature of the tissues to enhance the function of cells and increase blood flow, and thus various physiological treatments such as enhancement of metabolism, relief of deep pain, reduction of joint stiffness, etc. It shows effects and cosmetic effects such as anti-aging of skin, scars, wrinkles, bending, spots, freckles, burning body fat, and treating and preventing hair loss.
- the skin depth is a numerical representation of the skin effect, and refers to the depth of penetration of a high-frequency current into a material.
- the skin depth is inversely proportional to each of the material's conductivity and frequency.
- the depth of the epidermis is about 919mm when an alternating current of 1 MHz, which is widely used for high-frequency treatment, is applied, which means that high-frequency current excessively penetrates deep into the skin in terms of skin treatment, and a factor that reduces the efficiency of skin treatment. to be.
- the depth of the epidermis of the skin is about 0.5mm.

- a dielectric sheet is disposed between the skin and the electrode pair to which the high-frequency current is applied, so that the discharge between the electrode pairs occurs in the dermal layer of the skin, thereby improving the skin treatment efficiency.
- FIG. 1 is a diagram schematically showing the configuration of a skin treatment apparatus using a radio frequency according to an embodiment of the present invention.
- FIG. 2 is a diagram schematically showing the configuration of a skin treatment apparatus using a radio frequency according to another embodiment of the present invention.

It includes 150 and a cooling unit 360 for supplying a cooling fluid.
- the electrode module 310 includes a dielectric sheet 312 and an electrode pair 315 integrally formed with the dielectric sheet 312.
- the dielectric sheet 312 is made of a material such as ceramic, and may be in direct contact with the skin to be treated during skin treatment, or may be separated from the skin by oil or gel applied to the skin to be treated. That is, the dielectric sheet 312 covers the area to be treated in a contact or non-contact manner during skin treatment.
- An electrode pair 315 is integrally formed on the dielectric sheet 312. Although not shown, the dielectric sheet 312 is coupled and supported by a support body (not shown). The dielectric sheet 312 allows high-frequency discharge generated by the electrode pair 315 to be mostly generated in the dermal layer of the skin.
- the electrode pair 315 is integrally formed on the dielectric sheet 312. In this embodiment, it will be described that the electrode pair 315 is formed integrally by being attached to the inner surface 313 which is the opposite surface of the outer surface 311 facing the skin during skin treatment among both surfaces of the dielectric sheet 312.
- the electrode pair 315 includes a plate-shaped first electrode 316 and a plate-shaped second electrode 317 attached to and fixed to the inner surface 313 of the dielectric sheet 312. - the RF generator 150 uses a radio frequency of 100 to 500W of 4 to 15 MHz. As the frequency decreases, the skin penetration depth increases. Therefore, if the frequency is lower than 4MHz, the high-frequency current penetrates to an excessive depth, and a frequency higher than 15MHz has a negligible effect on the skin and is difficult to implement.

The count of the number of injections can be made by detecting the operation of the valve. Since the nozzle 361 sprays the cooling fluid from the inner surface 313 side of the dielectric sheet 312, the sprayed cooling fluid does not directly contact the skin. Accordingly, the treated person may not feel discomfort or the like that may occur due to direct contact of the cooling fluid with the skin.
