- the electronic device before activating the downloaded Profile, the electronic device can only obtain a few basic attributes of the Profile from the Profile Metadata and present it to the user.
- the user cannot distinguish the network standard, service type (such as voice service or data service) or card type supported by different profiles by referring to the basic attributes of the profile presented by the electronic device. Activate the corresponding Profile from multiple Profiles in a targeted manner according to your own needs.
- an embodiment of the present application provides a display method, by adding a field for characterizing a Profile capability (capability) in the Profile Metadata, so that the electronic device can obtain the information used to characterize the Profile capability before the user activates the Profile. information, presented to the user. Therefore, after downloading the profile, the user can learn the profile capability without activating the profile, thereby facilitating the user to understand the profile capability and improving the user experience. For example, in the case where the user has downloaded multiple profiles, he or she can refer to the profile capability, and select the profile to be activated in a targeted manner according to his own needs.
- the electronic device can obtain the network standard supported by the Profile before the user activates the Profile. Take 10 for 4G and 11 for 5G as an example. For example, if the network standard supported by the Profile includes 4G and 5G, the value indicated by the network standard can be 1011 or 1110. For another example, if the network standard supported by the Profile is only 4G, the value indicated by the network standard may be 0010, 1000 or 10. Alternatively, by adding nrProfile to the Profile Metadata, the electronic device can obtain whether the Profile supports 5G before the user activates the Profile.

- the electronic device by adding a service type indication in the Profile Metadata, the electronic device can obtain the service type supported by the Profile before the user activates the Profile.
- the types of services supported by the Profile may include voice services, data services, and the like.
- the value indicated by the service type is 0, which indicates that the Profile only supports data services and does not support voice services.
- the value indicated by the service type is 1, which indicates that the profile supports data services and voice services.
- the electronic device can obtain whether the card type supported by the Profile is an IoT card before the user activates the Profile.
- the card types supported by the profile may be divided into IoT cards, common cards, and the like according to different application scenarios or supported services. For example, IoT cards are suitable for IoT scenarios.
- IoT cards support data services but not voice services; ordinary cards can support voice services and data services.
- onlyforIoT can be used to characterize the card type supported by the Profile, or to characterize whether the card type supported by the Profile is an IoT card. Take onlyforIoT used to characterize whether the profile supported card type is an IoT card as an example. For example, the value of onlyforIoT is 1, which is used to indicate that the card type supported by Profile is IoT card. For another example, the value of onlyforIoT is 0, which is used to indicate that the card type supported by the Profile is not an IoT card (such as a common card or other types of cards). Take onlyforIoT used to characterize the profile support card type as an example.
- the value of onlyforIoT is 01, which is used to indicate that the card type supported by Profile is ordinary card;
- the value is 10, which is used to indicate that the card type supported by Profile is an IoT card;
- the value of onlyforIoT is 11, which is used to indicate that the card type supported by Profile is a directional traffic card.
- a directional traffic card is a card that provides a large amount of traffic for a specific application, such as a Tencent large network card.
- an account arrears indication, an account subscription status indication, and/or an account package traffic usage indication may also be added to the Profile Metadata.
- the account arrears indication can also be called outofCredit, which is used to characterize whether the profile's account is in arrears.
- the operator network can activate outofCredit in the Profile Metadata when the profile's account is in arrears, characterize the profile's account arrears, and send it to the electronic device, so that the electronic device can present the user with the prompt information of the account arrears.
- the outofCredit in Profile Metadata is not activated, indicating that Pfofile's account is not in arrears.
- the value of outofCredit is 1, indicating that outofCredit is active.
- the value of outofCredit is 0, indicating that outofCredit is inactive.
