Definitions
- the disclosed technology relates to a method and system for performing authentication for gate access using a user biometric information-based template.
- biometric information such as fingerprint, voice, face, iris, and vein exist in the human body, and since such biometric information is unique information, authentication technology using it is widely used.
- biometric information such as fingerprint, voice, face, iris, and vein
- authentication technology using it is widely used.
- many access authentication technologies using biometric information such as fingerprints have already been used in airports, government offices, and offices where access is strictly restricted for safety management.
- the authentication technology using such biometric information initially used information obtained by contacting a part of the body such as a fingerprint or iris with a sensing device, but the inaccuracy of the obtained biometric information is high and the sensing device is used by a large number of users, so it is hygienic. There was a problem with rejection. Accordingly, in recent years, authentication technology using biometric information obtained in a non-contact manner, such as a face image, is on the rise.
- biometric information extracted from a specific part of the body is used as data. This is called a template, and the user is authenticated by comparing a template registered in advance with a template extracted from the field.
- this technology has a problem in violating the biometric information protection guidelines because the user's biometric information is stored in the server regardless of the user's intention.
- the disclosed technology is to provide a method and system for performing authentication for gate access in three steps using a user biometric information-based template.
- a first aspect of the disclosed technology to achieve the above technical task is to transmit a beacon to a user terminal that has entered an area by a gate device, wherein the gate device takes a face image of the user of the user terminal and the face image and performing primary authentication by comparing a plurality of pre-stored face images, and transmitting a result of the primary authentication to an authentication server, wherein the authentication server pre-registers the user according to the result of the primary authentication requesting information for secondary authentication from the user terminal when it is determined that the user is an authenticated user, the user terminal capturing a gesture input by the user as an image according to the request of the authentication server, the authentication server performing the second authentication by receiving an image and comparing it with the previously registered gesture image of the user; Transmitting a result to the user terminal, the user terminal confirming the location of a specific gate to which access is granted among a plurality of gates according to the result of the third authentication, and the user terminal is provided at the specific gate
- An object of the present invention is to provide an authentication method for gate access, which
- a second aspect of the disclosed technology to achieve the above technical task is a user terminal, a beacon that mounts an application for a user's gate access and registers an authentication template and gesture image generated based on the user's face image using the application
- the user terminal is identified using A first authentication server that receives a result of authentication, determines that the user is a previously registered user, requests a gesture image from the user terminal, and performs secondary authentication by comparing it with the registered gesture image, and the first authentication
- the gate including a second authentication server that inquires the access restriction information for the user, performs the third authentication, and transmits the result of the third authentication to the user terminal It is to provide an authentication system for access.
- Embodiments of the disclosed technology may have effects including the following advantages. However, since it does not mean that the embodiments of the disclosed technology should include all of them, it should not be understood that the scope of the disclosed technology is limited thereby.
- an authentication method and system for gate access has an effect of quickly and accurately processing a user's gate access through three-step authentication based on biometric information.
- 1 is a diagram of an authentication method for gate access according to an embodiment of the disclosed technology.
- FIG. 2 is a diagram of an authentication system for gate entry according to an embodiment of the disclosed technology.
- FIG. 3 is a diagram illustrating a gate device provided in a gate.
- first, second, A, and B may be used to describe various components, but the components are not limited by the above terms, and only for the purpose of distinguishing one component from other components. is used only as For example, without departing from the scope of the present invention, a first component may be referred to as a second component, and similarly, a second component may also be referred to as a first component. and/or includes a combination of a plurality of related listed items or any of a plurality of related listed items.
- each of the constituent units to be described below may additionally perform some or all of the functions of other constituent units in addition to the main function it is responsible for. Of course, it can also be performed by being dedicated to it. Accordingly, the existence or non-existence of each component described through the present specification should be interpreted functionally.
- the authentication method for gate access includes the following steps ( S110 to S180 ).
- the gate device transmits a beacon to the user terminal.
- the gate device may identify a user terminal entering an area using a beacon. Basically, the gate device may receive a beacon from the user terminal, but if necessary, the user terminal may operate to identify each other by transmitting a beacon to the gate device.
- the user terminal may be a smart terminal possessed by the user, and the gate device may be a terminal device capable of exchanging a beacon with the smart terminal or a device equipped with such a module separately.
- the gate device captures a face image of the user of the user terminal.
- the gate device includes a camera capable of photographing a user's face.
- the gate device may initialize or drive the camera to capture the user's face to obtain a face image.
- the gate device performs primary authentication by comparing the photographed face image with a plurality of pre-stored face images.
- the gate device may perform primary authentication by generating a template based on a face image and comparing each template.
- a template generated based on a face image obtained by directly photographing a user by the gate device is a temporary template, and a plurality of templates generated based on a plurality of pre-stored face images are referred to as an authentication template.
- the gate device performs primary authentication by comparing whether a temporary template is identical to or similar to a temporary template among a plurality of authentication templates.
- the gate device may generate a plurality of authentication templates in advance and store them in the database, and may also generate the authentication templates when the camera captures the user's face image.
- a plurality of authentication templates for each of a plurality of face images may be generated in advance and stored in a database.
- the gate device transmits the result of the primary authentication to the authentication server.
- the gate device and the authentication server can communicate with each other by wire or wirelessly.
- the authentication server may be located in the same place as the control room, not far from the site where the gate device is installed, or may be located in a completely different place. Accordingly, it is possible to freely set the communication environment by wire or wirelessly in consideration of the cost of data transmission between the gate device and the authentication server.
- step S130 the authentication server determines whether the user is a registered user according to the result of the primary authentication. For example, if one of the plurality of authentication templates matches or is similar to the temporary template of the user, it may be determined that the user has completed the registration procedure in advance.
- the authentication server determines that the user is a pre-registered user, the authentication server requests information for secondary authentication from the user terminal.
- the second authentication means a request to input a gesture for preventing credential stuffing and checking liveness for the user.
- the user may control the user to input a specific gesture registered in advance through an application installed in the user terminal to capture the image as an image.
- step S140 the user terminal captures the user's gesture image according to the request of the authentication server. Since it is a terminal such as a smartphone, a camera capable of capturing a gesture image is provided. Accordingly, the application may use the camera to capture a gesture image for the user's second authentication.
- the authentication server receives the gesture image from the user terminal and compares it with the gesture image of the previously registered user.
- the authentication server performs secondary authentication for the user by comparing gesture images.
- the gesture may be a specific gesture or hand gesture registered by the user in advance.
- the user can record an action such as an OK sign as an image, register it in advance, and input the same action once more for secondary authentication.
- the authentication server may compare the gesture image registered in advance with the gesture image received from the user terminal in the secondary authentication process to compare the sameness or similarity. As an embodiment, similarity may be compared based on feature points or vector values included in the gesture image.
- biometric information such as a user's face image, fingerprint, or iris may be used, but preferably, authentication to identify the user is performed through primary authentication, and only gesture similarity can be compared in secondary authentication.
- the third authentication is performed by inquiring the access restriction information for the user according to step S160.
- the authentication server can perform the third authentication by inquiring the user's access restriction information.
- the access restriction information includes at least one of a criminal record, a departure prohibition record, and an entry prohibition record for the user.
- the authentication server includes a database that stores access restriction information for a plurality of users. In the database, not only access restriction information but also templates and gesture images for each user are stored. In such a database, a plurality of pieces of information may be all stored in one database while matching each other, or may be distributed and stored in a plurality of databases.
- step S160 when the authentication server determines that the third authentication is successful, it transmits an access right for transmitting a control signal to the user terminal, and when it is determined that the third authentication fails, a notification according to the access restriction is transmitted to the user terminal.
- the authentication server can block access to the gate even if the user has succeeded in primary and secondary authentication if criminal records, entry ban records, and entry ban records are inquired according to the third authentication.
- the authentication server transmits the result of the third authentication to the user terminal.
- the user terminal may receive an access right according to the user's gate access.
- the access right may be information including the right to access the gate and transmit a control signal.
- step S170 the user terminal checks the location of a specific gate to which access is granted among a plurality of gates according to the result of the third authentication.
- a specific gate means a gate that a user has decided to pass through in advance.
- ticketing information is stored according to the pre-processed ticketing. Using this, it is possible to determine the location of a specific gate.
- an application installed in the user terminal may receive the result of the third authentication and load ticketing information previously stored in the user terminal.
- the ticketing information includes information such as the location or number of the gate, and this information may be data in a form that can be read by a smart terminal.
- the user terminal may check information on the location of a specific gate based on such ticketing information, and the application may output it on the screen.
- step S180 the user terminal transmits a control signal to a gate device provided in a specific gate.
- the user terminal directly transmits a control signal to a specific gate device through an application.
- Step S180 includes the step of transmitting a response to the authentication server as the specific gate device receives the control signal, and the step of deleting the authentication result for the user by the authentication server receiving the response.
- a response may be transmitted to the authentication server immediately after the control signal is transmitted from the user terminal, or a response may be transmitted after a predetermined waiting time has elapsed. And when a response is received, the authentication server may delete the authentication result for the user.
- the authentication result to be deleted here includes a temporary template for a user who passes through the gate, an authentication template, and a gesture image.
- the access restriction record it is not created based on the user's biometric information, so even if the authentication server continues to store it, it has nothing to do with complying with the security guidelines related to biometric authentication.
- templates and gesture images since they are unique information that includes information about the user's physical characteristics, if they are continuously stored, forgery or leakage of information in authentication or procedures based on the user's biometric information In order to prevent such problems, the authentication server and gate device can block the possibility of problems by deleting templates and gesture information for users who have successfully passed all procedures according to gate passage.
- the authentication system for gate access includes a user terminal, a gate device, a first authentication server, and a second authentication server.
- the user terminal is equipped with an application for the user's gate entrance and uses the application to register an authentication template and gesture image generated based on the user's face image.

- the user terminal may be a smartphone, and in this case, the AP 110c may serve as the processor.
- the gate device uses the beacon to identify the user terminal. For example, the user terminal may be identified by returning a response from the user terminal to the beacon transmitted by the gate device. Alternatively, it may be identified as receiving a beacon from the user terminal and transmitting a response thereto to the user terminal.
- the gate device includes a BLE module 120a capable of transmitting or receiving a beacon. The user terminal may be identified by transmitting a beacon to the user terminal that has entered within an area where Bluetooth communication is possible using the BLE module 120a.
