- the Intermediate IAB node is the intermediate IAB node

- Fig. 3 is a CU-DU (Centralized Unit-Distributed Unit) structure diagram of an IAB system.
- the DUs of all IAB nodes are connected to a centralized unit (Centralized Unit, CU) node, and this node configures the DU through the F1 application protocol (or F1 control protocol).
- the CU configures the MT through a radio resource control (Radio Resource Control, RRC) protocol.
- Donor IAB nodes do not have the MT functional part.
- the introduction of the IAB system is to solve the situation that the wired transmission network is not deployed in place when the access points are densely deployed. That is, when there is no wired transmission network, the access point can rely on wireless backhaul.
- an IAB node can trigger a pre-emptive BSR (Pre-emptive BSR) after receiving a Buffer Status Report (BSR) from the UE or a downstream node, or send it to the downstream IAB node or The uplink transmission grant (UL grant) sent by the UE to decide whether to trigger.
- Pre-emptive BSR Pre-emptive BSR
- UL grant The uplink transmission grant sent by the UE to decide whether to trigger.
- Two triggering mechanisms of preemptive BSR are shown in Figure 4. This method of determining the preemptive BSR according to the data expected to be received in the future enables the upstream node to schedule in advance according to the expected data, so as to reduce the transmission delay.
- Child Node is a child node
- Parent Node is a parent node
- Regular BSR is a regular BSR
- Data is data.
- the preemptive BSR uses the same format as the long BSR Media Access Control (Media Access Control, MAC) control element (Control element, CE) for transmission.
- Media Access Control Media Access Control
- CE Control element
- the format of the preemptive BSR MAC CE is shown in Figure 5.
- LCG Logical Channel Group
- Buffer Size is the buffer size.
- an IAB node cannot trigger a preemptive BSR to the parent IAB node based on the preemptive BSR received.
- the preemptive BSR cannot trigger the preemptive BSR, when the backhaul link is long and the backhaul link is used to serve services requiring low latency, the long delay problem caused by multi-hop uplink wireless transmission is prominent.
- the preemptive BSR procedure is adopted, the uplink transmission delay is still significantly larger than the downlink transmission delay. Based on this, it is necessary to further study the method of triggering the preemptive BSR based on the preemptive BSR, so that the network can use the optimized preemptive BSR procedure to meet the quality requirements of low-latency services.
- IAB N1 an IAB node (IAB N1) is configured with the triggering and transmission of the preemptive BSR towards its parent IAB node, and its parent IAB node (IAB N2) sends the upstream transmission to this IAB node based on the preemptive BSR received Grants, IAB N2 can trigger a preemptive BSR to the higher parent IAB node (IAB N3) according to these upstream transmission grants.
- the actual amount of data received by IAB N2 may be quite different from the expected amount of received data; if the expected data does not arrive, it will cause IAB N3 to
- the received preemptive BSR to IAB N2 is a waste of upstream transmission permission; if IAB N2 does not trigger the preemptive BSR to IAB N3 according to these transmission permissions, then if IAB N2 receives the data sent by IAB N1 according to these upstream transmission permissions, IAB N2 N2 needs to trigger the traditional BSR process and request uplink transmission permission from IAB N1. There is a large transmission delay in the middle.
- the scheme of triggering preemptive BSR based on preemptive BSR needs to overcome the problem of resource waste as much as possible.
- This embodiment of the present application provides a method for configuring a preemptive cache status report BSR, as shown in FIG. 6 , including:
- Step 101 Receive the configuration parameter of the preemptive BSR from the backhaul IAB node, the configuration parameter is used to indicate whether the IAB node triggers the iterative preemptive BSR, and the iterative preemptive BSR is generated by the IAB node based on the received preemptive BSR and sent to the node.
- the preemptive BSR of the parent IAB node is
- the centralized unit sends the configuration parameters of the preemptive BSR to the IAB node, and the centralized unit and the IAB node can precisely control whether the preemptive BSR can be triggered based on the preemptive BSR according to the actual situation, which can reduce the transmission delay while reducing the transmission delay. Reduce the waste of uplink transmission permission caused by preemptive BSR.
- the CU may configure an access IAB node (access IAB node) to determine whether and how the upstream IAB node further triggers the preemptive BSR according to the received preemptive BSR, including the new preemptive BSR MAC CE format.
- An upstream IAB node may determine whether to further trigger the preemptive BSR according to the received indication in the preemptive BSR and/or the pre-configuration of the CU. In this way, the CU and IAB nodes can precisely control whether the preemptive BSR can be triggered based on the preemptive BSR according to the situation, so as to reduce the waste of uplink transmission permission.
- a preemptive BSR that can instruct the parent IAB node to generate an iterative preemptive BSR is referred to as an initial iterative preemptive BSR
- a preemptive BSR generated based on the received preemptive BSR is referred to as an iterative preemptive BSR.
- the configuration parameters include at least one of the following:
- UE1 is configured with LCG1 and LCG2, the CU configures the IAB node to trigger iterative preemptive BSR based on LCG1, and the IAB node is not configured to trigger iterative preemptive BSR based on LCG2.
- the BSR received by the node from the UE indicates that LCG1 has data or that both LCG1 and LCG2 have data, and can indicate in the initial iterative preemptive BSR sent to the parent IAB node that LCG1 can be given to trigger the iterative preemptive BSR; If the BSR of the UE indicates that LCG1 has no data and LCG2 has data, it cannot indicate the triggering of the iterative preemptive BSR in the initial iterative preemptive BSR sent to the parent IAB node;
- the type of user equipment UE that can trigger iterative preemptive BSR.
- the access IAB node can be configured to determine whether to allow triggering of the initial iterative preemptive BSR according to the main service of the UE.
- the BSR of the low-latency communication (Ultra-relaible and Low Latency Communication, URLLC) UE triggers the initial iterative preemptive BSR; in another specific example, the CU can directly configure the access IAB node to trigger the initial iterative preemptive BSR for a specific UE, For example, the access IAB node can be configured to trigger the initial iterative preemptive BSR based on the BSR of the high value-added UE.
- URLLC Ultra-relaible and Low Latency Communication
- the number of iterations that can trigger the iterative preemptive BSR which can be configured by LCG, LCH, DRB, service type or UE, and can be used to indicate the number of hops that can be preemptively transmitted for service data information;
- the time budget that can trigger iterative preemptive BSR which can be configured by LCG, LCH, DRB, service type or UE, can be used to indicate the expected time within which the service data buffer information can be iteratively transmitted to the upstream IAB node.
- the number of triggerable iterative preemptive BSRs and the time budget are introduced, which can avoid unlimited iterative preemptive BSR transmission, resulting in the error between the actual transmittable data volume and the uplink buffer report after multiple hops, and then magnified to be too large and the preemptive report lost.
- the significance of avoiding the waste of uplink transmission permission if the time iteratively preempts BSR is too long, the upstream buffer status of the IAB node will change due to the generation of new service data, and the difference between the buffer status reported by the preemptive BSR and the actual buffer status will become larger. If the preemptive BSR further triggers the iteration, the preemptive BSR is meaningless.
- the configuration parameters further include any of the following:
- the first indication information is used to indicate whether the subsequent intermediate node of the IAB node triggers iterative preemptive BSR;
- the second indication information is used to instruct the subsequent intermediate node of the IAB node to determine whether to trigger the iterative preemptive BSR based on the received preemptive BSR.
- the iterative preemptive BSR is not triggered; if the uplink from the intermediate node to the parent IAB node is not congested, the iterative preemptive BSR is triggered.
- the triggering process of the iterative preemptive BSR is shown in Figure 8. If the CU configures IAB N1, IAB N2 and IAB N3 to trigger the iterative preemptive BSR, the IAB N1 determines to trigger and transmit the iterative preemptive BSR, and the IAB N1 sends the IAB N2 The initial iterative preemptive BSR1 (which carries the indicated iteration parameter), the IAB N2 determines that it can further trigger the iterative preemptive BSR according to the iteration parameter carried by the preemptive BSR1, and the IAB N2 sends the iterative preemptive BSR2 (which carries the indicated iteration parameter) to the IAB N3.
- IAB N1 determines to trigger and send a general preemptive BSR (that is, a non-iterable preemptive BSR)
- IAB N1 sends a preemptive BSR3 to IAB N2 (indicating that it is not iterable), and after receiving the preemptive BSR3, IAB N2 determines not to further trigger an iterative preemptive BSR.
- the CU may configure the subsequent intermediate node to determine to trigger the iterative preemptive BSR according to the received preemptive BSR information; or, the CU may configure the subsequent intermediate node to determine whether to trigger the iterative preemptive BSR according to the received preemptive BSR information. For example, if the uplink from an intermediate IAB node to the parent IAB node is congested, the intermediate IAB node can temporarily not trigger the iterative preemptive BSR, and then trigger the iterative preemptive BSR normally after the congestion on the uplink of the parent IAB node is relieved. .
- the determination that the uplink is congested may be determined according to the amount of uplink data to be transmitted exceeding a preset threshold.
- the configuration parameters may be carried in the BSR medium access control MAC control element CE.
- the BSR MAC CE includes one or more logical channel identification (Logical Channel Identity, LCID) values, and the one or more LCID values respectively indicate the number of times that an iterative preemptive BSR can be triggered.
- LCID Logical Channel Identity
- the method further includes:
- one LCID value is selected from the one or more LCID values to indicate the number of times the iterative preemptive BSR can be triggered.
- the existing MAC CE format of the preemptive BSR can be used, as shown in FIG. 5 .
- the new LCID is used to indicate the iteration preemption BSR and the number of iterations. In a specific example, if it is pre-defined that it can be iterated at most once, a new LCID is required to replace the original LCID.
- the existing preemptive BSR MAC CE format can be used.
- LCID1 corresponding to one iteration
- LCID2 corresponding to two iterations.
- MAC CE it is determined that the preemptive BSR can be further triggered, and a preemptive BSR MAC CE carrying LCID1 is generated.
- the LCID here may refer to traditional LCID (6 bits) or eLCID (extended LCID, extended LCID, 8 bits or 16 bits). This method does not require a new BSR MAC CE PDU format.
- the BSR MAC CE includes a first bitmap, and each bit in the first bitmap corresponds to an LCG to indicate whether to trigger an iterative preemptive BSR based on the corresponding LCG.
- a new preemptive BSR MAC CE format can be introduced, in which a bitmap is introduced, and each LCG corresponds to a bit, which is used to indicate whether the parent IAB node can further trigger the iterative preemptive BSR based on the LCG.
- the format is shown in Figure 9.
- the LCGi bit indicated by the shaded part is set (ie, the value is 1), indicating that iterative preemptive BSR can be triggered based on the buffer report of the LCG, and vice versa.
- the BSR MAC CE includes a second iteration number indication to indicate the number of triggerable iterative preemptive BSRs of at least one LCG.
- a new preemptive BSR MAC CE format can be introduced, which is called iterative preemptive BSR MAC CE, which carries an indication to indicate whether the iterative preemptive BSR or the number of iterative preemptive BSRs can be triggered.
- the iteratively preemptive BSR MAC CE carries an indication of the number of iterations, indicating the number of iterations of a part or all of the LCGs, for example, only indicating the number of iterations of the LCG with the highest priority.
- the iteratively preemptive BSR MAC CE carries multiple indications of the number of iterations, and each number of iterations indicates the number of iterations of one or more LCGs.
- each LCG has an accompanying indication field of the number of iterations, indicating The number of iterations of the corresponding preemptive BSR of the LCG; in another specific example, multiple LCGs share an accompanying iteration number indication field, indicating the number of iterations of the preemptive BSR of these LCGs.
- the method further includes:
- the IAB node If the IAB node generates a second iterative preemptive BSR sent to the parent IAB node based on the received first iterative preemptive BSR, the value of the first iteration number indication or the second iteration number indication in the first iteration preemptive BSR is decremented by 1 , which is filled into the second iteration preemptive BSR.
- a new preemptive BSR MAC CE format is adopted.
- the preemptive BSR MAC CE format includes the number of times of iterative preemptive BSR, when an IAB node generates a new iterative preemptive BSR based on the received iterative preemptive BSR, it should preempt the received iteration.
- the number of iterations indicated by the BSR is decremented by 1 and filled in the generated iteration preemptive BSR.
- a certain iteration number indication field in the received iterative preemptive BSR is 0, it means that a new iterative preemptive BSR cannot be triggered or generated based on the LCG corresponding to the iteration number indication field, that is, when the received iterative preemptive BSR contains When one or more iteration count indication fields are present, and at least one of the iteration count indication fields is greater than 0, the LCG cache condition corresponding to the iteration count indication field greater than 0 can be generated, which can be further triggered or sent to the parent IAB node. Iterative preemptive BSR; if all the iteration count indication fields are 0, the iterative preemptive BSR cannot be triggered or generated based on the iterative preemptive BSR to the parent IAB node.
- the BSR MAC CE includes a time budget indication to indicate a time budget of at least one LCG that can trigger an iterative preemptive BSR.
- a new preemptive BSR MAC CE format may be introduced, which is called iterative preemptive BSR MAC CE, which carries an indication to indicate the expected time budget that can iteratively trigger the preemptive BSR.
- the time budget can be configured by LCG, and one or more or all LCGs can have a time budget indication.
- the method further includes:
- the IAB node If the IAB node generates a second iterative preemptive BSR sent to the parent IAB node based on the received first iterative preemptive BSR, the value of the time budget indication in the first iterative preemptive BSR is subtracted from the value of the time budget indication in the first iterative preemptive BSR. The remaining time budget is obtained from the time budget of , and the remaining time budget is used as the value indicated by the time budget of the second iteration preemptive BSR.
- a new preemptive BSR MAC CE format is adopted.
- the preemptive BSR MAC CE format includes the time budget for iteratively triggering the preemptive BSR
- the IAB node determines that the iterative preemptive BSR can be triggered, it shall preempt the received iteration by the time indicated in the BSR.
- the remaining time budget is obtained by subtracting the time budget required for the uplink transmission process of this hop scheduling from the budget, which is filled in the generated iterative preemptive BSR, and the generated new iterative preemptive BSR is sent to the parent IAB node.
- This embodiment of the present application also provides a method for configuring a preemptive cache status report BSR, as shown in FIG. 7 , including:
- the centralized unit CU sends the configuration parameter of the preemptive BSR to the self-returning IAB node, and the configuration parameter is used to indicate whether the IAB node triggers the iterative preemptive BSR, and the iterative preemptive BSR is the transmission generated by the IAB node based on the received preemptive BSR.
- Preemptive BSR for parent IAB node is used to indicate whether the IAB node triggers the iterative preemptive BSR, and the iterative preemptive BSR is the transmission generated by the IAB node based on the received preemptive BSR.
- UE1 is configured with LCG1 and LCG2, the CU configures the IAB node to trigger iterative preemptive BSR based on LCG1, and the IAB node is not configured to trigger iterative preemptive BSR based on LCG2.
- the BSR received by the node from the UE indicates that LCG1 has data or that both LCG1 and LCG2 have data, it can indicate in the initial iterative preemptive BSR sent to the parent IAB node that LCG1 can be given to trigger the iterative preemptive BSR; If the BSR of the UE indicates that LCG1 has no data and LCG2 has data, it cannot indicate the triggering of the iterative preemptive BSR in the initial iterative preemptive BSR sent to the parent IAB node;
- the number of iterations that can trigger the iterative preemptive BSR which can be configured by LCG, LCH, DRB, service type or UE, and can be used to indicate the number of hops that can be preemptively transmitted for service data information;
- the first indication information is used to indicate whether the subsequent intermediate node of the IAB node triggers iterative preemptive BSR;

- LCID2 corresponding to two iterations.
