Definitions

Further, there is a possibility that a wasteful space may be generated in the accommodation space in the rotary electric machine housing portion (21) and the speed reducer housing (11a). That is, even if the sizes of the rotary electric machine (3) and the speed reducer (11) to be accommodated do not change, the physique of the vehicle drive device in the horizontal direction (axial direction) becomes large.

- the case main body is integrally formed so as to form the first storage chamber and the second storage chamber, the number of parts of the case can be reduced.
- the partition member by having the partition member, the rotary electric machine accommodating chamber and the gear accommodating chamber can be appropriately formed in the integrally formed case main body portion. The number of parts of the case can be reduced as compared with the form including the case member in which the rotary electric machine accommodating chamber is formed and the case member in which the gear accommodating chamber is formed.
- partition walls are formed on both sides in the axial direction with the partition member interposed therebetween, it is easy to secure the rigidity of the first accommodation chamber, the rigidity of the second accommodation chamber, and the rigidity of the partition wall.
