- the diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid when added together with the azo polymerization initiator during the polymerization process, it has a five -COOH structure and effectively prevents chain transfer of metal ions during the polymerization process, making it even compared to other chelating agents. It is easy to form long chain structures. In particular, it is preferably used together in the polymerization process so that desorption does not occur.
- the azo polymerization initiator and diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid are included in a weight ratio of 1:2 to 1:10.
- the azo polymerization initiator and diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid are included in a weight ratio of 1:2 to 1:10.
- the azo-based polymerization initiator and diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid are out of the above-mentioned weight ratio, and less than 2 parts by weight of diethylenetriamine is included relative to 1 part by weight of the azo-based polymerization initiator, the desired uniform crosslinked structure is achieved. It is difficult to do this, and for example, when the content of the azo polymerization initiator is relatively too large, the chain length in the polymer is shortened and it may be difficult to implement a desired structure.
- the amount of diethylenetriamine exceeds 10 parts by weight relative to 1 part by weight of the azo-based polymerization initiator, there is a risk that additional side reactions may occur, and thus the absorption capacity may be reduced.

If the concentration of the photopolymerization initiator is too low, the polymerization rate may be slowed and a large amount of residual monomer may be extracted in the final product, which is not preferable. Conversely, when the concentration of the photopolymerization initiator is higher than the above range, the polymer chain constituting the network is shortened, which is not preferable because the physical properties of the resin may be deteriorated.
- the monomer composition may be prepared in the form of a solution in which raw materials such as the aforementioned monomer, polymerization initiator, chelating agent, and internal crosslinking agent are dissolved in a solvent.
- the usable solvent may be used without limitation in its composition as long as it can dissolve the above-described raw materials.

- a sheet-form hydrogel polymer may be obtained.
- the thickness of the sheet may vary depending on the concentration of the injected monomer composition and the injection rate. In order to ensure the production rate while allowing the entire sheet to be uniformly polymerized, it is usually adjusted to a thickness of 0.5 to 5 cm. desirable.
- the water content of the hydrogel polymer obtained by the above method may be 40 to 80% by weight.
- water content refers to a value obtained by subtracting the weight of the polymer in a dry state from the weight of the hydrogel polymer as the moisture content occupied with respect to the total weight of the hydrogel polymer. Specifically, it is defined as a value calculated by measuring the weight loss due to evaporation of moisture in the polymer during drying by raising the temperature of the polymer through infrared heating. - the hydrogel polymer in the coarse grinding step, may have a particle diameter of 2 mm to 10 mm. Grinding to a particle diameter of less than 2 mm is not technically easy due to the high moisture content of the hydrogel polymer, and a phenomenon of agglomeration between the pulverized particles may occur. On the other hand, when the particle size is pulverized to more than 10 mm, the effect of increasing the efficiency of the subsequent drying step may be insignificant.
- the drying temperature of the drying step may be 150 to 250 °C. If the drying temperature is less than 150 °C, the drying time is excessively long and there is a fear that the physical properties of the superabsorbent polymer finally formed may decrease. fine powder may occur, and there is a risk that the physical properties of the superabsorbent polymer finally formed may be deteriorated. Therefore, preferably, the drying may be carried out at a temperature of 150 to 200 °C, more preferably at a temperature of 150 to 190 °C.

After 30 minutes, water was drained from the bag for 3 minutes under the conditions of 250 g using a centrifuge, and the mass W2 (g) of the bag was measured. Moreover, after performing the same operation without using the said sample, the mass W1 (g) at that time was measured. CRC (g/g) was calculated according to the following Equation 1 using each obtained mass.
- CRC (g/g) ⁇ [W2(g) - W1(g)]/W0(g) ⁇ - 1
- the swollen base resin powder is measured using a digital force gauge FGP-2, which is a tensile compression tester, and the peak value of the force (N) applied to the tip as the tip is penetrated is measured three times according to the following conditions. After the measurement, the arithmetic mean value thereof is taken as the gel strength (unit: N).
- Beaker size 50 ⁇ 0.1 mm
- Penetation speed 500 ⁇ 0.5 mm/min
- Comparative Examples 6 and 7 in which the content ratio of the azo polymerization initiator and diethylenetriamine pentaacetic acid is out of the scope of the present invention, it is difficult to form an even and long chain structure, and thus, the absorption performance and the gel strength are excellent at the same time. It was confirmed that it was difficult to implement with a range.
