Description

터치 입력 장치
본 발명은 터치 위치를 검출하고, 스타일러스 펜을 구동시키며, 스타일러스 펜의 위치를 검출할 수 있는 다기능의 터치 입력 장치에 관한 것이다.
도 1은 종래의 플렉서블 디스플레이 패널 상에서 스타일러스 펜(10)의 위치에 따라 CVA(Capacitor Voltage Amplitude)의 출력전압(Vout)이 달라지는 것을 설명하기 위한 개략적인 도면이다.
도 1을 참조하면, 플렉서블 디스플레이 패널 상의 펜(10)의 위치에 따라 CVA의 출력이 다르게 나오는 원인은, 감지 라인 상에서 펜(10)을 중심으로 한 양쪽의 임피던스(impedance) 비율이 달라짐에 있다.
종래의 플렉서블 디스플레이 패널의 장축 기준으로, 메탈메쉬(Metal Mesh) 터치 센서의 저항(R)은 대략 1.2k (ohm)이고, 커패시터(C)는 대략 250pF이다.
10개의 분산 모델(distributed model) 기준으로, 구동주파수 300kHz에서는 커패시터(capacitor)의 임피던스(impedance)가 저항보다 대략 200배(120 (ohm) vs. 1/(2ð*300k*25pF) = 21k (ohm)) 더 크다. 따라서, 커패시터(capacitor)가 주요한 원인이다.
도 2는 도 1에서 펜(10)의 위치에 따라 CVA의 출력전압(Vout1, Vout2)이 다르다는 것을 전류 센싱(current sensing)을 통해 설명하기 위한 도면이고, 도 3은 도 1에서 펜(10)의 위치에 따라 CVA의 출력전압(Vout1, Vout2)이 다르다는 것을 전압 센싱(voltage sensing)을 통해 설명하기 위한 도면이다.
도 2 및 도 3을 참조하면, 감지 라인 상에서 펜(10)의 위치에 따라, CVA의 출력전압이 다르다. 즉, 감지 회로부(50) 측에 펜(10)이 가까울수록 CVA의 출력전압이 크고, 감지 회로부(50) 측으로부터 멀어질수록 CVA의 출력전압이 작아진다.
본 발명이 해결하고자 하는 과제는, 터치 위치를 검출하고, 스타일러스 펜을 구동시키며, 스타일러스 펜의 위치를 검출할 수 있는 다기능의 터치 입력 장치를 제공한다.
또한, 스타일러스 펜의 위치에 따라 감지 회로부의 출력전압이 달라지는 문제를 해결할 수 있는 터치 입력 장치를 제공한다.

제3 패턴(103)은 제2 방향을 따라 연장된 형상을 갖는다. 도 4에서는 제2 방향이 단축으로 도시되어 있으나, 이에 한정하는 것은 아니다. 예를 들어, 제2 방향은 장축일 수도 있다.
제3 패턴(103)은 다수의 메인 패턴부와 다수의 메인 패턴부 중에서 서로 인접한 2개의 메인 패턴부 사이를 연결하는 연결 패턴부를 포함할 수 있다. 여기서, 메인 패턴부는 다이아몬드 형상을 가질 수 있으나, 이에 한정하는 것은 아니며, 다양한 형상으로서 연결 패턴부와 다른 형상을 가질 수 있다.
제3 패턴(103)은 내부에 제4 패턴(104)이 배치되는 개구부를 가질 수 있다. 개구부의 형상은 제3 패턴(103)의 외형과 대응될 수 있다. 제3 패턴(103)은 제4 패턴(104)를 둘러싸는 구조를 가질 수 있다. 제3 패턴(103)은 제4 패턴(104)로부터 소정 간격 떨어져 배치된다.
제4 패턴(104)은 제3 패턴(103) 내부에 배치된다.
제4 패턴(104)는 다수의 메인 패턴부와 다수의 메인 패턴부 중에서 서로 인접한 2개의 메인 패턴부 사이를 연결하는 연결 패턴부를 포함할 수 있다. 여기서, 메인 패턴부는 다이아몬드 형상을 가질 수 있으나, 이에 한정하는 것은 아니며, 다양한 형상으로서 연결 패턴부와 다른 형상을 가질 수 있다.
제4 패턴(104)의 메인 패턴부는 제3 패턴(103)의 메인 패턴부와 대응되는 형상일 수 있고, 제4 패턴(104)의 연결 패턴부는 제3 패턴(103)의 연결 패턴부와 대응되는 형상일 수 있다.
제3 패턴(103)과 제4 패턴(104)이 다수로 서로 평행하게 배치된다.
다수의 제3 패턴(103)들의 일 단들은 제어부(500)와 전기적으로 연결되고, 타 단들은 전기적으로 오픈(open)된다. 여기서, 일 단은 상대적으로 제어부(500)에 가까운 곳이고, 타 단은 상대적으로 제어부(500)로부터 먼 곳이다. 다수의 제3 패턴(103)들의 일 단들은 제어부(500)와 전도성 트레이스를 통해서 서로 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다.
다수의 제4 패턴(104)들의 일 단들은 제어부(500)와 전기적으로 연결되고, 타 단들은 전도성 트레이스를 통해 서로 전기적으로 연결된다. 일 단은 상대적으로 제어부(500)에 가까운 곳이고, 타 단은 상대적으로 제어부(500)로부터 먼 곳이다. 다수의 제4 패턴(104)들의 타 단들이 서로 전기적으로 연결되면, 각 제4 패턴(104) 별 커패시턴스들이 더해지므로 전체 임피던스는 줄어들게 된다. 따라서, 다수의 제4 패턴(104)들의 타 단들이 AC GND된 것과 같은 효과를 갖게 된다.
한편, 다수의 제4 패턴(104)들의 서로 전기적으로 연결된 타 단들은 접지될 수도 있다.
또한, 도면으로 도시하지 않았지만, 다수의 제4 패턴(104)들의 타 단들이 서로 전기적으로 연결되지 않고, 각 제4 패턴(104)의 타 단에 소정의 커패시터가 연결될 수도 있다.
제3 패턴(103)과 제4 패턴(104)은 동일층에 배치될 수 있다. 메탈 메쉬(metal mesh)를 이용하여 제3 패턴(103)과 제4 패턴(104)을 동일층에 형성시킬 수 있다. 여기서, 제3 패턴(103) 및 제4 패턴(104)은 제1 패턴(101) 및 제2 패턴(102)과 서로 다른 층에 배치될 수 있다. 예를 들어, 제1 패턴(101)과 제2 패턴(102)은 제1 층에 배치되고, 제3 패턴(103)과 제4 패턴(104)은 제1 층과 다른 제2 층에 배치될 수 있다.
제어부(500)는 센서부(100)와 전기적으로 연결되며, 센서부(100)의 동작을 제어할 수 있다. 제어부(500)와 센서부(100)의 연결은 전도성 트레이스를 통해 서로 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다.
제어부(500)는 다수의 구동 회로부와 다수의 감지 회로부를 포함할 수 있다. 다수의 구동 회로부는 터치 센싱을 위한 구동 회로부와 스타일러스 구동을 위한 구동 회로부를 포함할 수 있다. 다수의 감지 회로부는 터치 센싱을 위한 감지 회로부와 스타일러스 센싱을 위한 감지 회로부를 포함할 수 있다. 여기서, 다수의 감지 회로부 중 일부의 감지 회로부는 터치 센싱도 수행하고, 스타일러스 센싱도 함께 수행할 수 있다.
제어부(500)는 센서부(100)를 터치 센싱 모드, 안테나 구동 모드 및 스타일러스 센싱 모드 중 어느 하나의 모드로 동작하도록 제어할 수 있다. 제어부(500)는 각 모드에 따라 다수의 구동/감지 회로부를 센서부(100)와 연결시키고, 다수의 구동 회로부에 인가될 구동 신호를 제어할 수 있다. 이를 위해, 제어부(500)는 다수의 구동/감지 회로부와 센서부(100)를 전기적으로 연결시키기 위한 다수의 스위치를 포함할 수 있다.
이하, 각 모드를 도 5 내지 도 7을 참조하여 설명한다.
도 5는 도 4에 도시된 터치 입력 장치가 터치 센싱 모드(또는 2D 센싱 모드)로 동작하는 경우를 도시한 도면이다.
도 4 및 도 5를 참조하면, 터치 센싱 모드 시, 제어부(500)는 터치 센싱을 위한 다수의 구동 회로부를 센서부(100)의 제1 패턴(101)에 전기적으로 연결시킬 수 있다. 제어부(500)는 다수의 스위치(sw)를 제어하여 다수의 제1 패턴(101)에 연결된 전도성 트레이스들을 다수의 구동 회로부와 전기적으로 연결시킬 수 있다.
또한, 제어부(500)는 터치 센싱을 위한 다수의 감지 회로부를 센서부(100)의 제3 패턴(103)에 전기적으로 연결시킬 수 있다. 제어부(500)는 다수의 스위치(sw)를 제어하여 다수의 제3 패턴(103)에 연결된 전도성 트레이스들을 다수의 감지 회로부와 전기적으로 연결시킬 수 있다.
터치 센싱 모드에서, 제어부(500)는 다수의 제1 패턴(101)으로 터치 센싱을 위한 구동 신호(또는, 터치 구동 신호)를 동시 또는 순차적으로 인가하고, 다수의 제3 패턴(103)으로부터 수신되는 감지 신호(또는, 터치 감지 신호)를 수신한다. 다수의 제3 패턴(103)들과 전기적으로 연결된 제어부(500)의 다수의 감지 회로부는 입력되는 감지 신호에 포함된 커패시턴스 변화량 정보를 소정의 전압값으로 출력할 수 있다. 제어부(500)는 출력된 전압값을 처리하여 터치 위치를 검출할 수 있다.
도 5에서는 제어부(500)가 다수의 제2 패턴(102)과는 전기적으로 연결되지 않았지만, 제1 패턴(101)과 제2 패턴(102) 사이의 커패시티브 커플링(capacitive coupling)이 발생되지 않도록, 다수의 제2 패턴(102)에 다수의 구동 회로부를 전기적으로 연결시킬 수 있다. 이 때, 제어부(500)는 다수의 제1 패턴(101)에 인가되는 구동 신호와 동일한 구동 신호를 다수의 제2 패턴(102)으로 인가되도록 제어할 수 있다. 또는, 제어부(500)는 다수의 제1 패턴(101)에 구동 신호가 인가될 때, 다수의 제2 패턴(102)으로는 미리 결정된 기준전위가 인가되도록 제어할 수도 있다.
도 6은 도 4에 도시된 터치 입력 장치가 안테나 구동 모드(또는 스타일러스 구동 모드, 또는 스타일러스 업링크 모드)로 동작하는 경우를 도시한 도면이다.
도 4 및 도 6을 참조하면, 안테나 구동 모드 시, 제어부(500)는 안테나 구동을 위한 다수의 구동 회로부를 센서부(100)의 다수의 제2 패턴(102)에 전기적으로 연결시킬 수 있다. 제어부(500)는 다수의 스위치(sw)를 제어하여 다수의 제2 패턴(102)에 연결된 전도성 트레이스들을 다수의 구동 회로부와 전기적으로 연결시킬 수 있다.
제어부(500)는 다수의 제2 패턴(102)에 연결된 각 구동 회로부에서 출력되는 구동 신호(또는 펜 구동 신호)를 제어할 수 있다.
예를 들어, 제어부(500)는 다수의 제2 패턴(102)에 연결된 다수의 구동 회로부 중에서 제1 구동 회로부에서는 소정 주파수의 펄스 신호가 출력되도록 제어하고, 제2 구동 회로부에서는 어떠한 펄스 신호도 출력되지 않도록 제어하고, 제3 구동 회로부에서는 제1 구동 회로부에서 출력되는 펄스 신호와 위상이 반대인 반전 펄스 신호가 출력되도록 제어할 수 있다. 이 경우, 제1 구동 회로부와 전기적으로 연결된 제2 패턴(102)과 제3 구동 회로부와 전기적으로 연결된 제2 패턴으로 전류 루프가 형성된다. 형성된 전류 루프에 의해 자기장이 발생되고, 자기장에 의해 센서부(100)에 근접한 스타일러스 펜이 공진되어 구동될 수 있다.
제어부(500)는 다수의 제2 패턴(102)에 전기적으로 연결된 다수의 구동 회로부 중에서 임의의 2개의 구동 회로부에서 서로 상반된 펄스 신호가 출력되도록 제어할 수 있다. 따라서, 제어부(500)는 전류 루프의 크기나 위치를 다양하게 변경 설정할 수 있다. 예를 들어, 제어부(500)가 센서부(100)에 근접한 스타일러스 펜의 위치를 검출한 경우에는 스타일러스 펜의 위치 주변의 2개의 제2 패턴에 전기적으로 연결되는 구동 회로부에서 서로 상반된 펄스 신호가 출력되도록 제어할 수 있고, 스타일러스 펜의 위치를 검출하지 못한 경우에는 다수의 제2 패턴(102) 중 양측 최외곽에 위치한 2개의 제2 패턴에 전기적으로 연결되는 구동 회로부에서 서로 상반된 펄스 신호가 출력되도록 제어할 수도 있다.
제어부(500)는 둘 이상의 전류 루프들을 동시에 형성시킬 수도 있다. 도 7을 참조하여 설명한다.
도 7의 (a) 내지 (c)는 제어부(500)가 도 4에 도시된 다수의 제2 패턴(102)에 스타일러스 펜을 구동시키기 위한 펜 구동 신호를 인가하는 여러 방법들을 설명하기 위한 도면이다. 참고로, 도 7의 (a) 내지 (c)에서는, 도 4에 도시된 하나의 제2 패턴(102)을 하나의 선(Ch)으로 간략하게 도시한 것이고, 각 선(Ch)은 하나의 채널이 된다.
도 7의 (a)는 스타일러스 펜(50)이 도 4에 도시된 센서부(100)의 중앙부(가장자리부가 아닌 영역)에 위치한 경우로서, 예를 들어 제5 채널(Ch5) 상에 위치한 것이다. 이러한 경우, 제어부(500)는 스타일러스 펜(50)이 위치한 지점을 기준으로 좌우 양측에 동일 개수의 채널들(Ch2, Ch3, Ch4 / Ch6, Ch7, Ch8)로 펄스 신호와 반전 펄스 신호(또는 접지)가 인가되도록 다수의 구동 회로부들을 제어할 수 있다. 구체적으로, 제어부(500)는 스타일러스 펜(50)의 좌측에 위치한 3개의 제2 내지 제4 채널(Ch2, Ch3, Ch4)에 펄스 신호가 인가되도록 제어하고, 스타일러스 펜(50)의 우측에 위치한 3개의 제6 내지 제8 채널(Ch6, Ch7, Ch8)에 반전 펄스 신호가 인가되도록 제어할 수 있다. 여기서, 도 7의 (a)에서는 스타일러스 펜(50)을 기준으로 좌우에 각각 3개의 채널들에 펄스 신호 및 반전 펄스 신호(또는 접지)가 인가되는 것으로 도시되어 있으나, 이에 한정하지 않는다. 예를 들어, 도 7의 (a)에서는 스타일러스 펜(50)을 기준으로 좌우에 각각 2개 또는 1개의 채널에 펄스 신호 및 반전 펄스 신호(또는 접지)가 인가될 수도 있고, 4개 이상의 채널에 펄스 신호 및 반전 펄스 신호(또는 접지)가 인가될 수도 있다.
도 7의 (b)는 스타일러스 펜(50)이 도 4에 도시된 센서부(100)의 가장자리부에 위치한 경우로서, 예를 들어 제0 채널(Ch0)과 제1 채널(Ch1) 사이에 위치한 것이다. 도 7의 (a)와 비교하여, 제어부(500)는 스타일러스 펜(50)을 기준으로 좌우에 동일한 개수의 채널(들)에 펄스 신호 및 반전 펄스 신호(또는 접지)를 인가할 수 없다. 이러한 경우, 제어부(500)는 스타일러스 펜(50)을 기준으로 좌우에 서로 다른 개수의 채널에 펄스 신호 및 반전 펄스 신호(또는 접지)를 인가하도록 제어할 수 있다. 구체적으로, 제0 채널(Ch0)에 펄스 신호를, 제1 내지 제3 채널(Ch1, Ch2, Ch3)에 반전 펄스 신호를 인가하도록 제어할 수 있다. 도면으로 도시하지 않았지만, 스타일러스 펜(50)이 제0 채널(Ch0)의 좌측의 최외곽 가장자리에 위치한 경우에는 제0 채널 내지 제2 채널(Ch0, Ch1, Ch2)에 반전 펄스 신호가 인가되도록 제어할 수도 있다.
도 7의 (a) 내지 (b)에서, 채널들(Ch0, Ch1쪋.Ch19)이 많으면 많을수록 각 채널을 구동하기 위한 제어부(500)의 단자들이 더 많이 요구되며 제어부(500) 내의 구동 회로부의 구성이 복잡해진다. 따라서, 채널들(Ch0, Ch1쪋.Ch19) 중 서로 근접한 적어도 두 개 이상의 채널들을 전기적으로 연결하여 하나의 채널로서 구동되도록 할 수 있다. 구체적으로, 도 7의 (c)에 도시된 바와 같이, 두 개의 채널을 전기적으로 연결하여 하나의 채널로 구성하는 것이다. 이렇게 구성할 경우 전기적으로 연결된 두 개의 채널은 동시에 같은 신호가 인가된다. 도 7의 (c)는 20개의 채널들(Ch0, Ch1쪋.Ch19)을 2개씩 전기적으로 연결하여 10개의 채널들로 구성한 것이다. 도면으로 도시하지 않았지만, 3개씩 전기적으로 연결하고 나머지 2개는 전기적으로 연결하여 7개의 채널들로 구성할 수 있고, 4개씩 전기적으로 연결하여 5개의 채널들로 구성할 수도 있다.
도 8은 도 4에 도시된 터치 입력 장치가 스타일러스 센싱 모드(또는 스타일러스 다운링크 모드)로 동작하는 경우를 도시한 도면이다.
도 4 및 도 8을 참조하면, 스타일러스 센싱 모드 시, 제어부(500)는 스타일러스 센싱을 위한 다수의 감지 회로부를 센서부(100)의 제1 패턴(102) 및 제3 패턴(103)에 전기적으로 연결시킬 수 있다. 제어부(500)는 다수의 스위치(sw)를 제어하여 다수의 제1 패턴(101)과 다수의 제3 패턴(103)에 연결된 전도성 트레이스들을 다수의 감지 회로부와 전기적으로 연결시킬 수 있다.
본 발명의 실시 형태에 따른 터치 입력 장치는 센서부(100)의 구성에 의해서, 스타일러스 센싱 모드에서 센서부(100) 상의 스타일러스 펜의 위치에 따라 다수의 감지 회로부의 출력전압 값이 거의 변경되지 않는 장점을 갖는다. 이에 대한 구체적인 원리를 도 9의 (a) 내지 (f)를 참조하여 설명하도록 한다.
도 9의 (a) 내지 (f)는 도 8의 스타일러스 센싱 모드의 동작 원리를 개략적으로 설명하기 위한 도면들이다.
도 9의 (a)는 도 8에 도시된 어느 하나의 제1 패턴(101)과 이에 전기적으로 연결된 제어부(500)의 감지 회로부를 개략적으로 모델링한 회로도이고, 도 9의 (b)는 상기 어느 하나의 제1 패턴(101) 내부에 배치된 제2 패턴(102)을 개략적으로 모델링한 회로도이다.
도 9의 (c)는 도 9의 (a)의 회로도에서의 전압 분포 그래프이고, 도 9의 (d)는 도 9의 (b)의 회로도에서의 전압 분포 그래프이다.
도 9의 (a) 및 (c)를 참조하면, 제1 패턴(101) 상에서 감지 회로부로부터 가능한 멀리 떨어진 임의의 A 지점에 스타일러스 펜이 근접하면, 해당 A 지점에 스타일러스 펜에서 방출되는 신호에 의해 유기되는 전압(Vemf, 이하, '유기 전압'이라 함.)이 발생된다.
A 지점에 유기 전압(Vemf)이 발생되면, A 지점에서 좌측을 바라본 제1 패턴(101)의 등가 커패시턴스는 작아지므로 등가 임피던스가 커진다. 따라서, 유기 전압(Vemf)은 A 지점의 좌측에 거의 대부분 걸리고, A 지점의 우측은 거의 0(V)에 가까운 전압이 걸려 전류가 거의 흐르지 않게 된다. 게다가, A 지점의 우측의 거의 0(V)에 가까운 전압은 제1 패턴(101)의 등가 저항들에 의해 점점 더 떨어져 감지 회로부의 입력단에는 전압이 거의 걸리지 않는다.
도 9의 (b) 및 (d)를 참조하면, A 지점에 유기 전압(Vemf)이 발생되면, A 지점의 좌측은 각 제2 패턴(102)의 타 단들이 서로 전기적으로 연결되기 때문에 A 지점의 좌측을 바라본 등가 커패시턴스는 커지므로 등가 임피던스는 거의 0에 가까워진다. 따라서, A 지점의 좌측은 0(V)가 걸리고, A 지점의 우측은 제2 패턴(102)의 일 단이 오픈(open)되어 있으므로 등가 저항들에서 전압 강하가 생기지 않고 그대로 Vemf가 걸린다.
도 9의 (c)와 (d)를 비교해보면, 제1 패턴(101)과 제2 패턴(102) 사이는 어느 위치에서도 Vemf 만큼의 전위차가 존재함을 확인할 수 있다. 제1 패턴(101)과 제2 패턴(102) 사이의 Vemf 만큼의 전위차는 제1 패턴(101)과 제2 패턴(102) 사이의 커패시티브 커플링(capacitive coupling)을 야기시킨다. 상기 커패시티브 커플링에 의해, 도 9의 (e)에 도시된 바와 같이, 제2 패턴(102)에서 제1 패턴(101)으로 전류가 흐르게 된다. 도 9의 (a)에 도시된 바와 같이, 스타일러스 펜의 위치가 제어부(500)의 감지 회로부로부터 멀리 떨어질수록 제1 패턴(101) 자체에서 발생되는 전류는 점점 더 적어지지만, 제2 패턴(102)으로부터 제1 패턴(101)으로 전류가 유입되기 때문에, 제1 패턴(101)에서 제어부(500)의 감지 회로부로 출력되는 전류는 펜의 위치와 거의 차이가 없게 된다. 따라서, 제어부(500)는 제1 패턴(101)과 전기적으로 연결된 감지 회로부를 통해서 스타일러스 펜의 위치를 감지할 수 있다.
그리고, 도 9의 (a) 내지 (e)를 통해 알 수 있듯이, A 지점이 좌측 또는 우측으로 이동하더라도 제1 패턴(101)과 제2 패턴(102) 사이의 전위차는 Vemf로서 일정함을 알 수 있다. 따라서, 센서부(100) 상에서 스타일러스 펜의 위치가 감지 회로부로부터 가깝던 멀던 구분없이, 제어부(500)는 감지 회로부로부터 출력되는 일정한 신호로부터 스타일러스 펜을 센싱할 수 있다.
한편, 도 9의 (e)의 설명에서 제2 패턴(102)에서 제1 패턴(101)으로 유입되는 전류가 커패시티브 커플링에 의한 것으로 설명되었으나, 이에 한정하는 것은 아니다. 예를 들어, 제2 패턴(102)에서 제1 패턴(101)으로 유입되는 전류는 마그네티브 커플링(자기장 커플링)에 의해서도 가능하다.
도 10는 본 발명의 다른 실시 형태에 따른 터치 입력 장치의 개략도이다.
도 10를 참조하면, 본 발명의 다른 실시 형태에 따른 터치 입력 장치는 센서부(100')와 제어부(500')를 포함한다.

도 11은 도 10에 도시된 터치 입력 장치가 터치 센싱 모드(또는 2D 센싱 모드)로 동작하는 경우를 도시한 도면이다.
도 10 및 도 11을 참조하면, 터치 센싱 모드 시, 제어부(500')는 터치 센싱을 위한 구동 회로부를 센서부(100')의 제3 패턴(103)에 전기적으로 연결시킬 수 있다. 다수의 제3 패턴(103) 각각에 하나의 구동 회로부가 전기적으로 연결될 수 있다.

각 제6 패턴(106')은 다른 층(2nd layer)에 배치된 제1 패턴(101)의 메인 패턴부와 대응되고 중첩되는 형상을 포함한다. 또한, 제6 패턴(106')은 다른 층(2nd layer)에 배치된 제2 패턴(102')과 비아를 통해 전기적으로 연결된다.

제2 트레이스(t2)는 활성영역(tp) 밖의 비활성영역에 배치되며, 일 단이 전도성 트레이스(to)에 직접 연결되며, 타 단은 안테나 구동 모드 시 제어부(500)의 구동 회로부와 스위치(sw)를 통해 연결될 수 있다.
제1 트레이스(t1)는 활성영역(tp)의 좌우 양측 중 일 측을 둘러싸면서 비활성영역에 배치될 수 있고, 제2 트레이스(t2)는 활성영역(tp)의 다른 일 측을 둘러싸면서 비활성영역에 배치될 수 있다.
제1 트레이스(t1)와 제2 트레이스(t2)는, 센서부(100'''''''')가 도 6과 같은 안테나 구동 모드로 구동 시, 스타일러스 펜(50)이 활성영역(tp)의 일 측 가장자리에 위치하더라도 스타일러스 펜(50)으로 충분한 자기장 신호를 제공할 수 있다. 따라서, 도 34에 도시된 센서부(100'''''''')를 포함하는 터치 입력 장치는 스타일러스 펜(50)이 활성영역(tp)의 어느 곳에 있더라도 스타일러스 펜(50)은 충분한 자기장 신호를 제공받아 충분한 신호를 방출할 수 있다.
도 34에 도시된 센서부(100'''''''')의 제1 및 제2 트레이스(t1, t2) 각각은, 도 7에서의 하나의 채널을 담당하며, 도 7의 (a) 내지 (c)와 같은 구동 방법이 그대로 적용될 수 있다.

도 39 및 도 40에 도시된 제3 및 제4 패턴(103, 104)을 포함하는 센서부는 수평 방향이 아닌 수직 방향으로 상호 정전용량(Cc_Tx)을 형성할 수 있다. 별도의 도면으로 도시하지 않았지만, 도 23 및 도 24에 도시된 제1 및 제2 패턴(101, 102)도 도 39 및 도 40에 도시된 바와 같은 구조를 가질 수 있다.
도 39 내지 도 40에 도시된 변형 예에 따른 구조는 상술한 여러 실시 형태에 따른 센서부에 적용될 수 있다.
이상에서 실시 형태들에 설명된 특징, 구조, 효과 등은 본 발명의 하나의 실시 형태에 포함되며, 반드시 하나의 실시 형태에만 한정되는 것은 아니다. 나아가, 각 실시 형태에서 예시된 특징, 구조, 효과 등은 실시 형태들이 속하는 분야의 통상의 지식을 가지는 자에 의해 다른 실시 형태들에 대해서도 조합 또는 변형되어 실시 가능하다. 따라서 이러한 조합과 변형에 관계된 내용들은 본 발명의 범위에 포함되는 것으로 해석되어야 할 것이다.

Claims (6)

  1. 센서부; 및 상기 센서부를 제어하는 제어부;를 포함하고,
    상기 센서부는,
    제1 방향을 따라 연장된 제1 패턴;
    상기 제1 패턴에 인접하여 배치되고, 상기 제1 방향을 따라 연장된 제2 패턴;
    상기 제1 방향과 다른 제2 방향을 따라 연장된 제3 패턴; 및
    상기 제3 패턴에 인접하여 배치되고, 상기 제2 방향을 따라 연장된 제4 패턴;을 포함하고,
    상기 제1 및 제2 패턴은 상기 제2 방향을 따라 다수로 배열되고,
    상기 제3 및 제4 패턴은 상기 제1 방향을 따라 다수로 배열되고,
    상기 다수의 제1 및 제3 패턴들의 일 단들은 상기 제어부와 전기적으로 연결되고, 타 단들은 전기적으로 오픈되고,
    상기 다수의 제2 패턴들의 타 단들은 서로 전기적으로 연결되고,
    상기 다수의 제4 패턴들의 타 단들은 서로 전기적으로 연결된, 터치 입력 장치.
  2. 센서부; 및 상기 센서부를 제어하는 제어부;를 포함하고,

    상기 제1 및 제2 패턴은 상기 제2 방향을 따라 다수로 배열되고,
    상기 제3 및 제4 패턴은 상기 제1 방향을 따라 다수로 배열되고,
    상기 다수의 제1 및 제3 패턴들은 상기 제어부와 전기적으로 연결되고, 타 단들은 전기적으로 오픈되고,
    상기 다수의 제2 패턴들의 타 단들은 서로 전기적으로 연결되고,

  3. 센서부; 및 상기 센서부를 제어하는 제어부;를 포함하고,
    상기 센서부는,
    제1 방향 및 상기 제1 방향과 다른 제2 방향을 따라 배열되고 각각의 내부에 개구부가 형성된 다수의 제1 패턴들;
    상기 다수의 제1 패턴들의 개구부에 배치된 다수의 제2 패턴들;
    상기 다수의 제1 패턴들과 동일층에 배치되고, 각각이 상기 제2 방향을 따라 연장되고 내부에 개구부가 형성된 다수의 제3 패턴들; 및
    각각이 상기 제3 패턴의 개구부에 배치되고 상기 제2 방향을 따라 연장된 다수의 제4 패턴들;을 포함하고,
    상기 다수의 제1 패턴들 중 상기 제1 방향을 따라 배열된 제1 패턴들은 전도성 브릿지를 통해 서로 전기적으로 연결되고,
    상기 제1 방향을 따라 배열된 제1 패턴들 중 일 측에 배치된 제1 패턴은 상기 제어부와 연결되고, 타 측에 배치된 제1 패턴은 전기적으로 오픈되고,
