- the processing simulator 250 is supplemented.
- minute vibrations may occur at the cutting edge of the tool.
- This vibration includes forced vibration and regenerated chatter vibration.
- Forced vibration is vibration generated by the machine tool as a vibration source, and occurs when the vibration frequency of the tool becomes equal to the natural frequency of the tool.
- Regenerative chatter vibration is vibration when the relationship between the vibration frequency of the tool and the depth of cut into the workpiece by the tool satisfies a predetermined condition.

- FIG. 6B shows the vibration frequency of the tool during cutting this time.
- FIG. 6(C) shows the thickness of the workpiece cut by the tool during the current cutting.
- the tool processes the workpiece by repeatedly cutting the workpiece while rotating.
- the tool vibrates during machining of the work, and undulations occur on the cutting surface of the work as shown in FIG. 6(A).
- the cutting marks from the previous cutting and the vibration frequency of the tool during the current cutting may deviate.
- FIG. 7 is a diagram showing an example of machining conditions under which regenerative chatter vibration is less likely to occur.
- FIG. 7(A) shows the cutting marks on the workpiece at the time of the previous cutting.
- FIG. 7B shows the vibration frequency of the tool during cutting this time.
- FIG. 7(C) shows the thickness of the workpiece cut by the tool during the current cutting.
- the vibration frequency of the tool overlaps with the cutting marks from the previous cutting.
- the deviation " ⁇ " becomes 0 and the cutting thickness of the workpiece becomes constant. Therefore, the force that the tool receives from the workpiece during cutting becomes constant, and regenerative chatter vibration is less likely to occur.
- the deviation " ⁇ " is 0 when “k” shown in the following formula (1) is an integer.
- k 60 ⁇ fc/(n0 ⁇ N) (1)
- "k” in equation (1) represents the wavenumber of the machined surface caused by the vibration of the tool during the period from when the first blade of the tool contacts the work to when the second blade contacts the work.
- "fc” represents the vibration frequency of the main shaft.
- N represents the number of teeth of the tool.
- "n0” represents the number of revolutions of the main shaft.
- the number of rotations here means the number of rotations of the main shaft per unit time (for example, per minute), and is synonymous with rotational speed. Since the tool is interlocked with the spindle, the number of rotations of the spindle is equal to the number of rotations of the tool. Therefore, the number of rotations of the spindle is synonymous with the number of rotations of the tool.
- FIG. 8 is a diagram showing how the workpiece W is machined when "k" is an integer.
- FIG. 8 shows the mode of the tool and work W when viewed from the axial direction of the spindle.
- FIG. 8(A) shows how the workpiece W is processed when "k” is 1. As shown in FIG. 8(A), when "k" is 1, the vibration of the tool between the contact of the tool blade 2A with the work W and the contact of the tool blade 2B with the work W causes The wavenumber of the resulting machined surface is 1.
- FIG. 8(B) shows the machining mode of the workpiece W when "k" is 2.
- the rotational speed of the tool in the machining mode of FIG. 8(B) corresponds to 1/2 of the rotational speed of the tool in the machining mode of FIG. 8(A).
- the wave number on the processing surface of the workpiece W is 2.
- FIG. 8(C) shows how the workpiece W is machined when "k” is 3.
- the rotational speed of the tool in the machining mode of FIG. 8(C) corresponds to 1 ⁇ 3 of the rotational speed of the tool in the machining mode of FIG. 8(A).
- the wave number on the processing surface of the workpiece W is 3.
- the deviation " ⁇ " is 0, so regenerative chatter vibration is less likely to occur.
- the upper diagram of FIG. 9 is a diagram showing the range in which regenerative chatter vibration occurs and the range in which it does not occur in relation to the rotational speed of the spindle and the depth of cut of the workpiece W.
- the horizontal axis of the graph shown in FIG. 9 represents the rotation speed of the main shaft.
- the vertical axis of the graph shown in FIG. 9 represents the cutting depth of the workpiece.
- the cutting depth (processing depth) here means the length of the contact portion between the tool and the workpiece W in the axial direction of the spindle.
- the range where the depth of cut of the workpiece is smaller than the boundary line BL represents machining conditions in which regenerative chatter vibration is less likely to occur. Below, the said range is also called stability range A.
- the range where the cutting depth of the workpiece is larger than the boundary line BL is a machining condition in which regenerative chatter vibration is likely to occur.
- the range is also referred to as an unstable range B hereinafter. In other words, it is evaluated which of the stable region A and the unstable region B the rotational speed of the spindle falls into based on the machining conditions, and the cutting conditions corresponding to the stable region A are extracted.
- the machining simulator simulates machining of the workpiece using the machine tool and tool selected by the selection processing unit, and the result of the simulated machining by the machining simulator is Based on this, an example has been described in which the output processing unit evaluates whether or not vibration occurs, etc., and generates and outputs suitability evaluation information for machine tools and tools.
- the present invention is not limited to the method using a machining simulator, but the relationship between the machining conditions and the vibration occurrence state is learned by machine learning, and based on the learning result, the presence or absence of vibration occurrence etc. is evaluated only from the machining conditions.
- the output processing unit may be configured to generate and output suitability evaluation information for the machine tool and the tool based on the result.

Abstract
