Description

ランプユニット、車両用灯具
 本開示は、ランプユニット、車両用灯具に関する。
 車両用灯具は、ランプユニットを用いて車両の周辺の路面に照射パターンを形成するものが考えられている(例えば、特許文献1、2等参照)。これらの従来のランプユニットは、光源からの光を遮光部材(シェード)の照射スリットを通して投影レンズで投影することにより照射パターンを形成して、その照射パターンが表す意図を見た者に知らせることができる。

 ところで、車両用灯具では、ランプユニットをターンランプ等の信号灯ユニットと並べて、単一の灯具として纏めて設けることが考えられる。その信号灯ユニットは、車両の周辺の者が直に光を認識できるようにその信号灯ユニット軸が路面と平行とされている。
 しかしながら、従来の車両用灯具は、光源と遮光部材と投影レンズとが組み合わされたランプユニットのランプユニット軸を路面側に下向きに傾けることにより、路面に照射パターンを形成するものとしている。このため、従来の車両用灯具は、ランプユニットと信号灯ユニットと纏めて設けようとしても、互いの向きが異なることで干渉し合うこととなり、ランプユニットと信号灯ユニットとを並べることが困難となってしまう。
 本開示は、上記の事情に鑑みて為されたもので、路面に対してランプユニット軸の傾きを殆ど傾けることなく路面に照射パターンを形成できるランプユニットと、それを用いた車両用灯具と、を提供することを目的とする。
 本開示のランプユニットは、ランプユニット軸に沿って並べられた、光源と、前記光源からの光を集光する集光レンズと、前記集光レンズで集光された光を部分的に通す照射スリットが設けられた遮光部材と、前記遮光部材を通した光を投影して照射パターンを形成する投影レンズと、を備え、前記投影レンズは、前記ランプユニット軸上に基準焦点が設定され、前記基準焦点を中心として下側に回転された位置に配置されて投影レンズ軸が前記ランプユニット軸よりも下向きとされていることを特徴とする。
 本開示のランプユニットと、それを用いた車両用灯具によれば、路面に対してランプユニット軸の傾きを殆ど傾けることなく路面に照射パターンを形成できる。

 以下に、本開示に係るランプユニット、車両用灯具の一例としてのランプユニット20、車両用灯具10の各実施例について図面を参照しつつ説明する。なお、図1では、車両用灯具10が設けられている様子の把握を容易とするために、車両1に対して車両用灯具10を強調して示しており、必ずしも実際の様子とは一致するものではない。また、図8、図9、図10、図14では、光が進行する様子の把握を容易とするために、集光レンズおよび投影レンズにおける断面を示すハッチを省略するとともに、シェードにおいてシェード枠部を省略している。
 実施例1の車両用灯具10(ランプユニット20)を、図1から図11を用いて説明する。実施例1の車両用灯具10は、図1に示すように、自動車等の車両1の灯具として用いられるもので、車両1に設けられる前照灯とは別に、車両1の前方の周辺の路面2に照射パターンPiを形成すべく車両1の前部に設けられる。その車両1の前方の周辺とは、車両1に設けられる前照灯により照射される前照灯領域よりも車両1に近い近接領域を必ず含むものであり、部分的に前照灯領域を含む場合もある。なお、車両用灯具10は、車両1の後方や側方の周辺の路面2にも照射パターンPiを形成してもよく、実施例1の構成に限定されない。
 車両用灯具10は、実施例1では、車両1に設けられるターンランプやバックランプ等の信号灯を構成するもので、実施例1ではターンランプとされて車両1の前側において左右で対を為して設けられている。なお、車両用灯具10は、他の信号灯、例えば、クリアランスランプやバックランプ(ストップランプ)やテールランプ等を構成してもよく、実施例1に限定されない。2つの車両用灯具10は、取り付けられる位置および照射パターンPiを形成する位置等が異なることを除くと、基本的に等しい構成とされているので、以下では、単に車両用灯具10として説明する。この車両用灯具10は、図2に示すように、ランプハウジング11、ランプレンズ12、信号灯ユニット13およびランプユニット20を備える。
 ランプハウジング11は、色付きや塗装された樹脂材料等の光不透過性の部材で形成され、前方が開口し、後方が塞がれた形状とされている。ランプレンズ12は、透明樹脂部材やガラス部材等の光透過性の部材で形成され、ランプハウジング11の開放された前端を覆うことができる。そのランプレンズ12は、ランプハウジング11の開口部に封止された状態で固定され、水密性が確保されている。このランプハウジング11とランプレンズ12とに区画されて、灯室14が形成されている。
 この灯室14には、ランプハウジング11等に固定されて、信号灯ユニット13とランプユニット20とが配置されている。その信号灯ユニット13は、信号灯筐体15内に図示を略す光源等の光学部材が信号灯ユニット軸A1上に設けられて構成され、その信号灯ユニット軸A1上の前側の端部に信号灯発光部16が設けられているとともに、後側の端部に信号灯放熱部17が設けられている。信号灯ユニット13は、点灯制御回路からの電力が供給されることで適宜点灯および消灯され、実施例1ではターンランプであるので点灯時には一定の時間間隔で点滅される。この信号灯ユニット13は、信号灯ユニット軸A1が路面2と平行とされて設けられており、車両1の周辺にいる者に対する視認性が確保されている。
 ランプユニット20は、信号灯ユニット13の下側に設けられている。以下の説明では、ランプユニット20において、そのランプユニット軸A2が伸びる方向を軸線方向(図面ではZとする)とし、軸線方向を水平面に沿う状態とした際の鉛直方向を上下方向(図面ではYとする)とし、軸線方向および上下方向に直交する方向(水平方向)を幅方向(図面ではXとする)とする(図2等参照)。
 そのランプユニット20は、図3、図4に示すように、光源部21と集光レンズ22とシェード23と投影レンズ24とがランプユニット軸A2上に位置されつつ光源筐体25に収容され、単一の投射光学系とされて、プロジェクタタイプの路面投影ユニットを構成する。光源筐体25は、半円筒形の下側部材25aと上側部材25bとで構成されており、下側部材25aに上記の各部材(22から24)が設置された状態で、下側部材25aと上側部材25bとが嵌め合わされるとともに設置台部26に取り付けられている。光源筐体25では、嵌め合わされた下側部材25aと上側部材25bとによる円筒形状の中心軸線がランプユニット軸A2とされており、上記の各部材(22から24)が設置される基準線となる。この光源筐体25では、集光レンズ22を嵌め入れる集光レンズ溝と、シェード23を嵌め入れるシェード溝と、投影レンズ24を嵌め入れる投影レンズ溝とが設けられている。また、光源筐体25では、下側部材25aに幅方向で対を為して固定突起25cが設けられるとともに、上側部材25bに幅方向で対を為して固定片25dが設けられており(共に図3に手前側のみ図示)、各固定突起25cと各固定片25dの固定穴25eとを嵌め合わせることが可能とされている。なお、光源筐体25の形状等の構成は、適宜設定すればよく、実施例1の構成に限定されない。
 設置台部26は、光源部21が設けられる箇所であり、熱伝導性を有するアルミダイカストや樹脂で形成され、全体として光源部21で発生する熱を外部に逃がすヒートシンクとして機能する。設置台部26は、設置箇所26aと放熱箇所26bとを有する。設置箇所26aは、光源部21(その基板32)が設置される箇所であり、軸線方向に直交する平板状とされている。設置箇所26aには、下側部材25aと上側部材25bとが嵌め合わされた光源筐体25が、光源部21を幅方向で挟む位置に配された一対の取付片27を介して取り付けられる。放熱箇所26bは、設置箇所26aに連続して設けられた複数の放熱フィン26cを有する。放熱箇所26bは、設置箇所26aに設置された光源部21で発生した熱を主に各放熱フィン26cから外部に放熱する。
 光源部21は、光源31と、それが実装される基板32と、を有する。光源31は、LED(Light Emitting Diode)等の発光素子で構成されており、実施例1では、出射光軸を中心とするランバーシアン分布でアンバー色の光(アンバー色光)を出射する。なお、光源31は、色(波長帯域)や、分布の態様や、色の数等は適宜設定すればよく、実施例1の構成に限定されない。実施例1の光源31は、図5に示すように、幅方向に並列された2つのLEDチップ31aと、それぞれを覆う蛍光体31bと、を有し、各LEDチップ31aからの光が蛍光体31bを通ることでアンバー色光として出射する。このため、光源31では、蛍光体31bが発光面として機能する。光源31では、蛍光体31bが幅方向に長尺な矩形状とされており、その中心から軸線方向にのびて出射光軸31Lが設定されている。実施例1の光源31は、基板32上において、出射光軸31Lがランプユニット軸A2と一致されている。
 基板32は、設置台部26の設置箇所26aに取り付けられ、光源31が実装される。基板32は、点灯制御回路が設けられており、そこから電力を適宜供給して光源31を点灯させる。基板32は、上記のように設置箇所26aに光源筐体25が接続されることで、光源筐体25の後端部(軸線方向で設置台部26側の端部)側に位置されて、その光源筐体25に収容された集光レンズ22(その入射面22a)と対向される。
 集光レンズ22は、光源31から出射された光を集光するものであり、シェード23上における後述する各スリット部36の周辺、すなわちシェード23上において全てのスリット部36を含みつつ各スリット部36が設けられた領域(設定領域As(図6参照))に光を集める。集光レンズ22は、図4に示すように、基本的に凸レンズとされており、実施例1では両凸レンズで入射面22aおよび出射面22bが自由曲面とされている。集光レンズ22における光学的な設定については後述する。集光レンズ22では、幅方向の両端に設けられたフランジ部を、光源筐体25の集光レンズ溝に嵌め入れることが可能とされている。集光レンズ22は、軸線方向に伸びる集光レンズ軸A3を有する。その集光レンズ軸A3は、集光レンズ22におけるレンズ中心点Lcを通りつつ軸線方向に伸びる軸線とされている。集光レンズ22は、集光レンズ溝に嵌め入れられると集光レンズ軸A3がランプユニット軸A2と一致される。なお、入射面22aと出射面22bとは、集光レンズ22を凸レンズとするものであって後述の光学的な設定を満たすものであれば、凸面でもよく凹面でもよく、実施例1の構成に限定されない。
 シェード23は、集光レンズ22で集光された光源31からの光を部分的に通すことで照射パターンPiを形成する遮光部材の一例である。その照射パターンPiは、図1に示すように、3つの照射図柄Diが車両1から遠ざかる方向に略等しい間隔で整列されている。ここで、各照射図柄Diは、個別に示す際には、車両1から最も遠いものを第1照射図柄Di1とし、そこから車両1に近づくにつれて順に、第2照射図柄Di2、第3照射図柄Di3とする。このため、照射パターンPiでは、第1照射図柄Di1が遠方照射図柄となり、第3照射図柄Di3が近方照射図柄となり、その間の第2照射図柄Di2が中間照射図柄となる。実施例1では、各照射図柄Diが大きく開くV字形状の記号とされており、第1照射図柄Di1が他の2つの照射図柄Di2、Li3よりも僅かに大きくされている。
 この各照射図柄DiのV字形状の頂点が並ぶ方向を矢印方向Daとし、その指し示す側(第1照射図柄Di1側)を矢印方向Daの前側とする。照射パターンPiは、3つの照射図柄Diが並べられることで、車両1から矢印方向Daを指し示す矢印のように見せることができる。照射パターンPiは、投影面となる路面2上において、第1照射図柄Di1と第2照射図柄Di2と第3照射図柄Di3とを、矢印方向Daに直交する方向に長尺なものとしている。
 ここで、第1照射図柄Di1は、矢印方向Daに直交する方向に位置する2つの側端Dieが、矢印方向Daの後側に向かうに連れて内側(車両1に近付く側)に向かう傾斜の直線、すなわち矢印方向Daに対して内側に傾斜されている。また、第2照射図柄Di2および第3照射図柄Di3は、両側端Dieが矢印方向Daと平行とされている。このため、照射パターンPiは、第1照射図柄Di1が矢印の記号におけるアローヘッドに相当するとともに残りの2つの照射図柄Diが矢印の記号におけるシャフトに相当する印象を与えることができ、より効果的に矢印方向Daを指し示す印象を与えることができる。加えて、照射パターンPiは、車両1の左右いずれかの前方にいる者に対して、第1照射図柄Di1の両側端Dieが自らへ向けられているように見せることができ、その者がいる方向へと曲がる意図があることを感じさせることができる。この3つの照射図柄Diからなる照射パターンPiは、シェード23により形成される。
 シェード23は、図6に示すように、シェード部33とシェード枠部34とを有する。シェード枠部34は、シェード部33を取り囲む略円形の枠状とされており、光源筐体25のシェード溝に嵌め入れることが可能とされて、光源筐体25に取り付けられる。実施例1のシェード枠部34は、上下方向の上端と下端とが部分的に幅方向に切り欠かれている。シェード23は、シェード部33の中心位置にシェード基準点Psが設定され、そのシェード基準点Psを通りつつシェード部33に直交する線をシェード基準軸線A4とする。シェード23は、シェード枠部34が光源筐体25に取り付けられることで、シェード基準軸線A4がランプユニット軸A2と一致されてシェード基準点Psがランプユニット軸A2上に位置される。
 シェード部33は、基本的に光の透過を阻む板状の部材で形成されており、その部材が部分的に切り欠かれて貫通された照射スリット35が設けられている。照射スリット35は、照射パターンPiに対応されており、集光レンズ22で集光された光源31からの光を部分的に通すことで、照射パターンPiを所定の形状に成形する。照射スリット35は、実施例1では3つのスリット部36で構成されている。
 この3つのスリット部36は、3つの照射図柄Diに一対一で対応している。その各スリット部36は、投影レンズ24がシェード23(照射スリット35)を反転させて路面2に投影することから、照射パターンPiの各照射図柄Diの位置関係に対して、シェード基準軸線A4(ランプユニット軸A2)を中心として回転対象な位置関係とされている(図1、図6等参照)。このため、各スリット部36は、上下方向の最も下側の第1スリット部361が、照射パターンPiの第1照射図柄Di1(遠方照射図柄)に対応する遠方スリット部となる。また、各スリット部36は、その上の第2スリット部362が、第2照射図柄Di2(中間照射図柄)に対応する中間スリット部となる。そして、各スリット部36は、最も上側の第3スリット部363が第3照射図柄Di3(近方照射図柄)に対応する近方スリット部となる。実施例1のシェード23では、上下方向において、第3スリット部363がランプユニット軸A2よりも上方に設けられ、その下でランプユニット軸A2を含む水平線を跨いで第2スリット部362が設けられ、その下に第1スリット部361が設けられている。このシェード23(照射スリット35の各スリット部36)を透過した光は、投影レンズ24により路面2に投影される。
 その各スリット部36は、それぞれが対応する各照射図柄Diと同様に大きく開くV字の記号を模る形状とされており、各照射図柄Diに対して上下左右が反転されている。3つのスリット部36は、路面2上で各照射図柄Diが図1に示す大きさおよび間隔となるように、それぞれ路面2までの距離に応じてシェード部33上での位置、形状、大きさおよび間隔が設定されている。詳細には、ランプユニット20(車両用灯具10)は、路面2よりも高い位置に設けられているとともに路面2上に各照射図柄Diを矢印方向Daに並べて形成するので、スリット部36毎に対応する各照射図柄Diを形成する路面2上での位置までの距離が異なる。このため、各スリット部36は、そこを透過した光である各照射図柄Diが、投影レンズ24により路面2上に投影されるまでの距離に応じて、位置、形状、大きさおよび間隔が設定されている。具体的には、実施例1では、第1スリット部361が細いV字の記号を模る形状とされ、第2スリット部362が第1スリット部361よりも太いV字の記号を模る形状とされ、第3スリット部363が第2スリット部362よりも太いV字の記号を模る形状とされており、それぞれ対応する照射図柄Diよりも幅方向に細長くされている。
 このように、3つのスリット部36は、各照射図柄Diとは異なり互いに異なる大きさとされるとともに異なる間隔とされている。各スリット部36では、対応する照射図柄Diに対する縮小比が、第1スリット部361が最も小さくされており、通った光が路面2上に投影される際に最も大きな拡大率で拡大されて第1照射図柄Di1を形成する。また、各スリット部36では、対応する照射図柄Diに対する縮小比が、第3スリット部363が最も大きくされており、通った光が路面2上に投影される際に最も小さな拡大率で拡大されて第3照射図柄Di3を形成する。
 投影レンズ24は、図4に示すように、基本的に凸レンズとされており、実施例1では、入射面24aおよび出射面24bが凸面とされた自由曲面とされるとともに、上下方向の下側が切り欠かれている。投影レンズ24は、シェード23の照射スリット35(その各スリット部36)を投影することで、路面2上に照射パターンPi(図1参照)を形成する。なお、入射面24aと出射面24bとは、投影レンズ24を凸レンズとするものであれば、凸面でもよく凹面でもよく、実施例1の構成に限定されない。
 この投影レンズ24は、基準焦点Fbが、ランプユニット軸A2上であってシェード23のシェード基準点Psの近傍に設定されている。この基準焦点Fbは、入射面24aと出射面24bとが基準となる曲面に設定された状態において、投影レンズ24の投影レンズ軸A5と平行な光が出射面24b側から入射された際に、その光が集められる箇所となる。そして、投影レンズ24では、入射面24aと出射面24bとが基準となる曲面とされた状態における中心線が投影レンズ軸A5となる。ここで、入射面24aと出射面24bとは、この基準となる曲面を基本とした自由曲面とされており、上記のような平行な光が出射面24b側から入射されても、その全ての光束が必ずしも基準焦点Fbを通るものではない。この投影レンズ24は、基準焦点Fbからの入射範囲Riが、投影レンズ軸A5を中心として35度以内とされている。換言すると、投影レンズ24は、上記のような平行な光が出射面24b側から入射された際、投影レンズ軸A5に対して35度以内の方向で進行する光が基準焦点Fbを通るように設定されている。この入射範囲Riの大きさ(角度)は、適宜設定すればよく、実施例1の構成に限定されない。
 そして、投影レンズ24は、その基準焦点Fbを通りつつ幅方向に伸びる線を回転中心として、ランプユニット軸A2よりも下側に向けて回転された(傾けた)状態で配置されており、実施例1では投影レンズ軸A5がランプユニット軸A2に対して下向きに20度の角度とされている。なお、投影レンズ24は、上記した位置に設定された基準焦点Fbを中心として、ランプユニット軸A2よりも下側に向けて回転された状態で配置されていればよく、実施例1の構成に限定されない。そして、投影レンズ軸A5のランプユニット軸A2に対する角度は、好適には15度から20度の範囲とする。
 このように、投影レンズ24は、投影レンズ軸A5が基準焦点Fbを起点としてランプユニット軸A2に対して下側に20度傾けられているとともに、基準焦点Fbから35度の範囲を入射範囲Riとして設定している。このため、投影レンズ24は、基準焦点Fbからの入射範囲Riの中にランプユニット軸A2を位置させるように、ランプユニット軸A2に対して投影レンズ軸A5が下側へと傾けられた(軸線方向の前側に向かうに連れて上下方向の下側へと向かう)状態とされている。この投影レンズ24は、基準焦点Fbがランプユニット軸A2上であってシェード23のシェード基準点Psの近傍に位置されているので、自らの光学設定に従い最も収差の少ない状態でシェード部33の照射スリット35(各スリット部36)の像を投影レンズ軸A5上に形成できる。このため、投影レンズ24は、後述する光束分布とされたシェード23の照射スリット35(その各スリット部36)を通した光を、路面2上の投影レンズ軸A5と交差する位置の周辺に投影できる。
 ここで、投影レンズ24は、上記のようにランプユニット軸A2よりも下側に回転された位置に設けられているので、円筒形状の光源筐体25と干渉することとなる。この干渉を防ぐために、投影レンズ24は、上下方向の下端が切り欠かれて下端面24cが形成されているとともに、その下端面24cに隣接する側面が切り欠かれて湾曲面24dが形成されている。下端面24cと湾曲面24dとは、投影レンズ24において光源筐体25(下側部材25a)と干渉する箇所を部分的に切り欠いて形成されており、下端面24cが上下方向でシェード23の下端と略等しい位置の平面とされ、湾曲面24dが光源筐体25(下側部材25a)の内側面に沿う曲面とされている。これにより、投影レンズ24は、光源筐体25の内方に収容することが可能とされている。投影レンズ24は、光源筐体25の集光レンズ溝に嵌め入れられると、上記のように投影レンズ軸A5がランプユニット軸A2に対して下向きに傾いた状態で光源筐体25に取り付けられ、同じく光源筐体25のシェード溝に嵌め入れられたシェード23に対して上記した位置関係とされる。
 次に、集光レンズ22の光学的な設定について、図8から図10を用いて説明する。集光レンズ22では、入射面22aと出射面22bとの曲面を適宜設定することにより、光学的な設定が為されている。実施例1の集光レンズ22は、全体として光源31から出射された広がりのある光を集光することで、シェード23における設定領域As(図6参照)内を照射させる。設定領域Asは、実施例1では、シェード23のシェード部33において照射スリット35(各スリット部36)が設けられている範囲としている。
 集光レンズ22は、図7に示すように、軸線方向と幅方向とを含む横断面において、光源31からの光を出射面22bからシェード23までの間で、ランプユニット軸A2(集光レンズ軸A3)の近傍を通る光束をランプユニット軸A2に接近するように集光させるとともに、ランプユニット軸A2から離れた位置を通る光束を平行とさせる。すなわち、集光レンズ22は、横断面において、ランプユニット軸A2上の光束の密度を最も高くしつつ、ランプユニット軸A2から離れるに従って光束の密度を徐々に低くしている。ここで、図7では、ランプユニット軸A2から離れた最も外側に光束が集められているようにも見えるが、光束(光路)の様子の把握を容易とするために満遍なく光束を記載しているためであり、実際にはランプユニット軸A2から離れるに従って光束の密度を徐々に低くなっている。また、光源31からの光は、ランバーシアン分布とされてランプユニット軸A2に近付くほど光束の密度が高くされているので、このこともランプユニット軸A2上に最も多くの光が集められることに寄与する。
 また、集光レンズ22は、軸線方向と上下方向とを含む縦断面において、光源31からの光を設定領域As内に集めるように集光する。この集光レンズ22は、出射面22bからシェード23へと進行する光源31からの光路、すなわち出射面22bからシェード23に至る光束の態様を、照射スリット35(各スリット部36)の位置に応じて設定している。そして、集光レンズ22は、少なくとも、照射スリット35の上部に向かう光路(光束)を、ランプユニット軸A2と平行とすることと、照射スリット35に向かうに連れてランプユニット軸A2に接近するように下側に傾けることと、の少なくとも一方を満たすものとしている。
 詳細には、集光レンズ22は、図8に示すように、光源31からの光のうち、上側の第3スリット部363に向かう光束を、ランプユニット軸A2と平行とすることと、照射スリット35に向かうに連れてランプユニット軸A2に接近するように下側に傾けることと、の少なくとも一方を満たすものとしており、実施例1では双方を混在させている。ここで、集光レンズ22では、主に、入射面22aおよび出射面22bにおける上部を経た光束が、第3スリット部363へと向かうものとされている。このため、集光レンズ22では、主に入射面22aおよび出射面22bの上部の曲率を設定することにより、上記の光路を設定している。
 また、集光レンズ22は、図9に示すように、光源31からの光のうち、真ん中の第2スリット部362に向かう光束を、第2スリット部362の近傍で集光する、すなわち第2スリット部362の近傍でランプユニット軸A2と交差するものとしている。ここで、集光レンズ22では、主に、入射面22aおよび出射面22bにおける中部を経た光束が、第2スリット部362へと向かうものとされている。このため、集光レンズ22では、主に入射面22aおよび出射面22bの中部の曲率を設定することにより、上記の光路を設定している。
 さらに、集光レンズ22は、図10に示すように、光源31からの光のうち、下側の第1スリット部361に向かう光束を、第1スリット部361の近傍で集光する、すなわち第1スリット部361の近傍で互いに交差するものとしている。ここで、集光レンズ22では、主に、入射面22aおよび出射面22bにおける下部を経た光束が、第1スリット部361へと向かうものとされている。このため、集光レンズ22では、主に入射面22aおよび出射面22bの下部の曲率を設定することにより、上記の光路を設定している。
 この集光レンズ22は、上記した光学的な設定とされることで、自らを通過した光源31からの光を、設定領域Asにおいて、上下方向で満遍なく拡散させつつ、下側となるほどすなわち第1スリット部361に最も多くの光を集めつつ第3スリット部363に集められる光を最も少なくしている。ここで、図8から図10では、いずれのスリット部36であっても同じように光束が集められているようにも見えるが、各図において光路(光束)の様子の把握を容易とするために満遍なく光束を記載しているためであり、実際には第1スリット部361、第2スリット部362、第3スリット部363の順で光束が集められる量が減少している。また、各スリット部36は、互いに大きさが上側から下側に向けて順に小さくなるものとされているため、下側となるほど狭い範囲に光束が集中することとなるので、このことも第1スリット部361に最も多くの光が集められることに寄与する。このような光束分布とされたシェード23すなわち各スリット部36を透過した光を、投影レンズ24が投影レンズ軸A5上で路面2に投影する。
 このランプユニット20は、以下のように組み付けられる。先ず、基板32に光源31が実装されて光源部21が組み付けられ、その光源部21が設置台部26の設置箇所26aに固定される。その後、光源筐体25の下側部材25aにおいて、集光レンズ溝に集光レンズ22を嵌め入れ、シェード溝にシェード23を嵌め入れ、投影レンズ溝に投影レンズ24を嵌め入れる。そして、その下側部材25aに上側部材25bを嵌め合わせて光源筐体25を構成し、その光源筐体25が両取付片27を介して設置台部26に取り付けられる。すると、集光レンズ22とシェード23と投影レンズ24とが光源筐体25に収容されつつ、その集光レンズ22と対向して光源部21が設けられる。これにより、ランプユニット軸A2上で光源部21側から集光レンズ22とシェード23と投影レンズ24とが順に並ぶとともに、その投影レンズ24がランプユニット軸A2に対して投影レンズ軸A5が下側に傾けられた姿勢とされて、ランプユニット20が組み付けられる。
 このランプユニット20は、図2に示すように、灯室14において、ランプユニット軸A2が信号灯ユニット13の信号灯ユニット軸A1と平行とされつつ信号灯ユニット13の下側に隣接されて、ランプハウジング11に固定される。これにより、車両用灯具10が組み付けられる。この車両用灯具10では、信号灯ユニット軸A1とランプユニット軸A2とを路面2と平行としているとともに、ランプユニット20において、そのランプユニット軸A2に対して投影レンズ軸A5が下側に傾けられた姿勢とされて投影レンズ24が設けられている。
 次に、車両用灯具10の作用について説明する。車両用灯具10では、信号灯ユニット13において、点灯制御回路からの電力を光源に供給することで、それらを適宜点灯および消灯できる。また、車両用灯具10では、ランプユニット20において、点灯制御回路からの電力を基板32から光源31に供給することで、それらを適宜点灯および消灯できる。そして、車両用灯具10は、信号灯ユニット13とランプユニット20とを連動させており、信号灯ユニット13が点滅されると、その点滅に合わせて光源31が点灯される。すると、ランプユニット20は、光源31からの光が、集光レンズ22で集光されてシェード23を照射し、その照射スリット35(各スリット部36)を透過した後に、投影レンズ24により投影されることで、照射パターンPiを路面2上に形成する。このことから、ランプユニット20では、投影レンズ24(その出射面24b)が、周辺から見た際に発光する発光部として機能する。その照射パターンPiは、上記の光束分布とされた光がシェード23の照射スリット35(その各スリット部36)を透過した後に、投影レンズ24により投影されることで、3つの照射図柄Diが矢印方向Daに並べられている。
 このため、車両用灯具10は、信号灯ユニット13の信号灯発光部16が点滅する様子と、その近傍の路面2上で矢印方向Daに並ぶ3つの照射図柄Diが点滅する様子と、を車両1の周辺にいる者に見せることができ、ターンランプの視認性を高めることができる。このことは、特に、例えば、見通しの悪い路地における交差点で車両1とは別の路地にいる者や、車両1の後方から追い越そうとする者のように、信号灯発光部16を直に見ることが困難な位置にいる者に対しても、路面2上の照射パターンPiを視認させることができるので、効果的である。加えて、車両1は、ハザードランプを点灯させる場合には、左右の2つの車両用灯具10が同時に点灯される、すなわち左右の信号灯ユニット13の信号灯発光部16が点灯されるとともに、両ランプユニット20が左右に広がるように両照射パターンPiを路面2上に形成する。このため、車両1は、左右のターンランプとしての信号灯ユニット13のみを点滅させている場合と比較して、ハザードランプが点灯されていることをより確実に認識させることができる。
 ここで、ランプユニット20の作用について説明する。ランプユニット20は、投影レンズ24の基準焦点Fbをランプユニット軸A2上であってシェード23のシェード基準点Psの近傍に位置させ、その基準焦点Fbを中心に投影レンズ24を回転させることでランプユニット軸A2に対して投影レンズ軸A5を下側に傾けた姿勢としている。このため、ランプユニット20は、シェード23(そのシェード部33)において光源31からの光により各スリット部36が明るくされた様子を、投影レンズ24が投影レンズ軸A5上に投影できる。このとき、ランプユニット20は、基準焦点Fbをシェード23のシェード基準点Psの近傍に位置させているので、投影レンズ24が光学設定に従い最も収差の少ない状態でシェード基準点Psの近傍すなわち各スリット部36が明るくされた様子を投影レンズ軸A5上に投影できる。これにより、ランプユニット20は、ランプユニット軸A2を路面2と平行に設けても、その路面2よりも高い位置から路面2上に照射パターンPiを適切に形成できる。
 また、ランプユニット20は、基準焦点Fbからの入射範囲Riの中にランプユニット軸A2を位置させるように、ランプユニット軸A2に対して投影レンズ軸A5を下側へと傾けて投影レンズ24を設けている。このため、ランプユニット20は、各スリット部36を通した光のうちランプユニット軸A2に沿う方向が最も明るくされているが、そのような光に対しても投影レンズ24が光学設定に従って効率良く集光でき、各スリット部36が明るくされた様子を適切に投影レンズ軸A5上に投影できる。
 そして、ランプユニット20は、集光レンズ22において、光源31からの光のうち、上側の第3スリット部363に向かう光束を、ランプユニット軸A2と平行とすること、照射スリット35に向かうに連れてランプユニット軸A2に接近するように下側に傾けること、の少なくとも一方を満たすものとしている。ここで、ランプユニット20は、光源31とシェード23と投影レンズ24との位置関係から、上記のように下側に傾けた投影レンズ24であっても、第3スリット部363を通した光を投影レンズ軸A5上に効率良く投影することが容易ではない。そこで、ランプユニット20は、集光レンズ22から第3スリット部363に向かう光束を上記のように設定しているので、そのように設定しない場合と比較して第3スリット部363を通した光であっても投影レンズ24の投影レンズ軸A5が伸びる方向に近付けることができる。このため、ランプユニット20は、第3スリット部363を通した光であっても、投影レンズ24により投影レンズ軸A5上に効率良く投影することができる。これにより、ランプユニット20は、上記のように下側に傾けた投影レンズ24と集光レンズ22とが協働して、投影レンズ軸A5上で路面2に照射パターンPiをより適切に形成できる。
 加えて、ランプユニット20は、光源31が2つのLEDチップ31aを有するものとし、その両LEDチップ31aを幅方向に並列させており、蛍光体31bを幅方向に長尺なものとしている。ここで、ランプユニット20は、集光レンズ22が、シェード23のシェード部33に対して、幅方向ではランプユニット軸A2上に集めつつ設定領域As内を照射させ、上下方向では設定領域As内に集めるように集光している。そして、ランプユニット20は、集光レンズ22が、光源31からの光のうち、上側の第3スリット部363に向かう光束を、ランプユニット軸A2と平行ことと、照射スリット35に向かうに連れてランプユニット軸A2に接近するように下側に傾けることと、の少なくとも一方を満たすものとしている。このため、ランプユニット20では、集光レンズ22における光源31からの光の制御が、幅方向よりも上下方向の方に精度が求められることとなる。そして、ランプユニット20は、両LEDチップ31aを幅方向に並列させて蛍光体31bを幅方向に長尺なものとすることで、光源31の最も明るい箇所を上下方向で集光レンズ軸A3と重なる位置にできる。このため、ランプユニット20は、集光レンズ22が、上下方向で光学設定に従い最も収差の少ない状態で光源31からの光を制御できるので、各スリット部36に対してより適切な光束分布とすることができる。
 ここで、先行技術文献に記載の従来の車両用灯具は、光源と遮光部材と投影レンズとが組み合わされたランプユニットのランプユニット軸を路面側に下向きに傾けることにより、路面に照射パターンを形成するものとしている。このため、従来の車両用灯具は、ランプユニットを信号灯ユニットと並べて、単一の灯具として纏めて設けることが困難である。これについて、図2、図11を用いて説明する。ここで、ランプユニットを傾けることにより生じる問題点は、実施例1の車両用灯具10であっても、信号灯ユニット13(信号灯ユニット軸A1)に対してランプユニット20(ランプユニット軸A2)を傾けて設けた場合には同様であるので、図11では、図2と同じく信号灯ユニット13とランプユニット20とを用いている。
 先ず、車両用灯具10では、2つのユニット(信号灯ユニット13およびランプユニット20)を単一の灯具として纏めて設ける場合、互いの発光部すなわち信号灯発光部16と投影レンズ24(その出射面24b)との距離を、所定の間隔d(図2参照)以下とすることが法規として定められている。この所定の間隔dは、75mmとされている。ここで、信号灯ユニット13は、信号灯発光部16すなわちそこから発せられた光を周囲の者に直に見せる物であるので、信号灯ユニット軸A1が路面2と平行とされて設けられている。このため、車両用灯具10では、図11に破線で示すように、ランプユニット20を下向きに傾けると、その傾けたランプユニット20が信号灯ユニット13と干渉してしまう。そして、車両用灯具10では、図11に実線で示すように、傾けたランプユニット20が信号灯ユニット13と干渉しない位置まで下方に下げると、信号灯発光部16と投影レンズ24(出射面24b)との間隔d´が所定の間隔dよりも大きくなってしまう。このため、従来の車両用灯具は、ランプユニットを傾けることから、信号灯ユニットと並べて単一の灯具として纏めようとしても、法規を満たすことができなくなってしまう。
 これに対して、車両用灯具10は、ランプユニット20が、基準焦点Fbを中心として投影レンズ24(投影レンズ軸A5)を下側に傾けることにより、ランプユニット軸A2を路面2と平行としても、その路面2上に照射パターンPiを形成できるものとしている。このため、車両用灯具10は、図2に示すように、ランプユニット軸A2と信号灯ユニット軸A1とを平行とした状態で、ランプユニット20と信号灯ユニット13とを並べて設けることができるので、信号灯発光部16と投影レンズ24(出射面24b)とを所定の間隔d(法規以内)にできる。これにより、車両用灯具10は、ランプユニット20と信号灯ユニット13とを並べて単一の灯具として纏めることができ、車両1への搭載の位置や態様の自由度を高めることができ、使い勝手を向上できる。
 実施例1のランプユニット20および車両用灯具10は、以下の各作用効果を得ることができる。
 ランプユニット20は、光源31と集光レンズ22と遮光部材(シェード23)と投影レンズ24とがランプユニット軸A2に沿って並べられている。そして、ランプユニット20は、投影レンズ24が、ランプユニット軸A2上に基準焦点Fbが設定され、基準焦点Fbを中心として下側に回転された位置に配置されて投影レンズ軸A5がランプユニット軸A2よりも下向きとされている。このため、ランプユニット20は、ランプユニット軸A2を路面2と平行として設けても、投影レンズ軸A5の方向に遮光部材(シェード23)の照射スリット35を通した光を投影することができ、路面2上に照射パターンPiを形成できる。
 ランプユニット20は、投影レンズ24が、投影レンズ軸A5を中心に設定された光の入射範囲Ri内にランプユニット軸A2を位置させるように下向きに傾けられている。このため、ランプユニット20は、各スリット部36を通した光のうちランプユニット軸A2に沿う方向が最も明るくされているが、そのような光に対しても投影レンズ24が光学設定に従って効率良く集光でき、通した光により照射スリット35が明るくされた様子を適切に投影レンズ軸A5上に投影できる。
 ランプユニット20は、集光レンズ22が、光源31から出射されて照射スリット35の上端を通る光の進行方向を、ランプユニット軸A2と平行とすること、照射スリット35に向かうに連れてランプユニット軸A2に接近するように下側に傾けること、の少なくとも一方を満たすものとする。このため、ランプユニット20は、照射スリット35の上端を通した光であっても投影レンズ24の投影レンズ軸A5が伸びる方向に近付けることができ、下側に傾けた投影レンズ24と協働して、投影レンズ軸A5上で路面2に照射パターンPiをより適切に形成できる。
 ランプユニット20は、光源31が、その発光面(蛍光体31b)を上下方向(鉛直方向)で集光レンズ22の集光レンズ軸A3と重なる位置として配置されている。このため、ランプユニット20は、集光レンズ22が光源31からの光を効率良くかつ光学設定に従った方向へと進行させることができ、遮光部材(シェード23)上での明るさを確保しつつそこで向けた光束の方向の制御を容易なものにできる。
 ランプユニット20は、遮光部材(シェード23)が、ランプユニット軸A2上にシェード基準点Psを設定し、投影レンズ24が、基準焦点Fbをシェード基準点Psの近傍に位置させて配置されている。このため、ランプユニット20は、投影レンズ24が光学設定に従い最も収差の少ない状態で遮光部材を投影することができ、通した光により照射スリット35が明るくされた様子をより適切に投影レンズ軸A5上に投影できる。
 車両用灯具10は、上記したランプユニット20を備える。このため、車両用灯具10は、ランプユニット軸A2を路面2と平行としてランプユニット20を設けても、路面2上に照射パターンPiを形成できるので、車両1への搭載の位置や態様の自由度を高めることができ、使い勝手を向上できる。
 車両用灯具10は、さらに、信号灯ユニット軸A1上に信号灯発光部16が設定された信号灯ユニット13を備え、ランプユニット20と信号灯ユニット13とを、ランプユニット軸A2と信号灯ユニット軸A1とを平行として隣接させている。このため、車両用灯具10は、信号灯発光部16と投影レンズ24(出射面24b)とを所定の間隔d(法規で定められた間隔)よりも近付けることができ、車両用灯具10は、ランプユニット20と信号灯ユニット13とを並べて単一の灯具として纏めつつ、路面2上に照射パターンPiを形成できる。
 したがって、本開示に係るランプユニット(車両用灯具)としての実施例1のランプユニット20(車両用灯具10)は、路面2に対してランプユニット軸A2の傾きを殆ど傾けることなく路面2に照射パターンPiを形成できる。
 次に、本開示に係るランプユニット、車両用灯具の一例としての実施例2のランプユニット20A、車両用灯具10Aについて、図12から図14を用いて説明する。車両用灯具10A(ランプユニット20A)は、基本的な概念および構成が実施例1の車両用灯具10(ランプユニット20)と同様であるので、等しい構成の個所には同じ符号を付し、詳細な説明は省略する。
 実施例2の車両用灯具10Aは、ランプユニット20Aにおいて、実施例1のランプユニット20とは光源部21Aおよび集光レンズ22Aが異なる構成とされているとともに、シェード23の姿勢が異なるものとされている。このランプユニット20Aは、図13に示すように、光源部21Aが、第1光源311と第2光源312とを有し、それらが基板32に実装されて構成されている。第1光源311と第2光源312とは、実施例1の光源31と同様の構成とされており、それぞれの蛍光体31bが発光面として機能する。第1光源311と第2光源312とでは、それぞれ蛍光体31bが幅方向に長尺な矩形状とされており、それぞれの中心から軸線方向にのびて出射光軸31Lが設定されている。
 この第1光源311と第2光源312とは、基板32上において、それぞれがランプユニット軸A2よりも上下方向の上側の位置で、間隔を置いて幅方向に並列されて設けられている。第1光源311と第2光源312とは、それぞれの蛍光体31bが、ランプユニット軸A2を含み幅方向に伸びる直線よりも上側に位置されているとともに、上下方向で集光レンズ22Aの集光レンズ軸A3を含み幅方向に伸びる直線と重なる位置とされている。このため、第1光源311と第2光源312とは、発光面となる蛍光体31bが上下方向(鉛直方向)で集光レンズ22Aの集光レンズ軸A3と重なる位置に配置されている。
 この集光レンズ22Aは、図12に示すように、光源部21Aに対向された入射面41と、その反対側に向けられた出射面42と、を有する。入射面41は、中央部分が集光レンズ22Aの内側(光源部21Aとは反対側)に凹んでおり、その中央で外側に凸に湾曲された湾曲入射面部43と、それを取り巻く環状入射面部44と、を有する。また、入射面41の周辺では、環状入射面部44を取り囲む円錐台状の反射面45が設けられている。
 湾曲入射面部43は、軸線方向で光源部21Aと対向しており、後側の焦点(後側焦点)の近傍に光源部21Aが位置される。湾曲入射面部43は、光源部21Aから出射される光を軸線方向の前側に進行する光として集光レンズ22A内に入射させる。環状入射面部44は、光源部21A側へと突出して設けられており、光源部21Aからの光のうち、湾曲入射面部43へと進行しないものを集光レンズ22A内に入射させる。反射面45は、環状入射面部44から集光レンズ22A内に入射した光が進行する位置に形成されている。反射面45は、環状入射面部44から入射した光を反射すると、軸線方向の前側に進行する光とする。なお、反射面45は、全反射を利用して光を反射してもよく、蒸着や塗装等によりアルミや銀等を接着させることで光を反射してもよい。このため、集光レンズ22Aでは、入射面41において、湾曲入射面部43を経た光が直接出射面42に向かう直射光となるとともに、環状入射面部44を経て反射面45で反射された光が内部で反射されてから出射面42に向かう反射光となる。
 この集光レンズ22Aでは、入射面41の環状入射面部44の中心軸線を集光レンズ軸A3とする。集光レンズ22Aは、図12、図13に示すように、集光レンズ軸A3をランプユニット軸A2よりも上下方向の上側に変位させる位置に配置されている。そして、集光レンズ22Aは、上下方向(鉛直方向)において、集光レンズ軸A3が、第1光源311および第2光源312の各発光面(蛍光体31b)と重なる位置であってそれぞれの出射光軸31Lよりも下側に位置するように、配置されている。このため、集光レンズ22Aは、基本的に環状入射面部44の内側に第1光源311および第2光源312を位置させてそれらを軸線方向で湾曲入射面部43と対向させるものとしつつ、第1光源311および第2光源312を集光レンズ軸A3よりも僅かに上側に変位させた位置関係とされている。
 出射面42は、入射面41から入射された光を、軸線方向の前側に出射させる。出射面42は、入射面41から入射された光を設定領域Asに集光することにより、照射スリット35(各スリット部36)へと進行させる。そして、集光レンズ22Aでは、シェード23に至る光束の態様を、照射スリット35(各スリット部36)の位置に応じて設定している。この設定は、基本的に実施例1の集光レンズ22と同様であり、少なくとも、照射スリット35の上部に向かう光路(光束)を、ランプユニット軸A2と平行とすることと、照射スリット35に向かうに連れてランプユニット軸A2に接近するように下側に傾けることと、の少なくとも一方を満たすものとしている。
 詳細には、集光レンズ22Aは、図14に示すように、光源部21A(光源311、312)からの光のうち、上側の第3スリット部363に向かう光束を、ランプユニット軸A2と平行とすることと、照射スリット35に向かうに連れてランプユニット軸A2に接近するように下側に傾けることと、の少なくとも一方を満たすものとしており、実施例1では双方を混在させている。そして、集光レンズ22Aは、光源部21A(光源311、312)からの光のうち、真ん中の第2スリット部362に向かう光束をその近傍で集光し、下側の第1スリット部361に向かう光束をその近傍で集光する。これらの光路は、上記した光源部21A(光源311、312)に対する集光レンズ22Aの位置関係を勘案しつつ、入射面41(主に、湾曲入射面部43、反射面45)と、出射面42と、の曲率を調整することにより、設定されている。
 シェード23は、実施例1と同様の構成とされているが、ランプユニット軸A2に対する姿勢が実施例1とは異なるものとされている。実施例2のシェード23は、シェード基準点Psを通りつつ幅方向に伸びる線を中心として、シェード基準軸線A4の軸線方向の前側(投影レンズ24側)を下側に変位させるように回転されており、シェード基準軸線A4がランプユニット軸A2に対して傾けられている。そのシェード基準軸線A4は、ランプユニット軸A2に対する傾き(角度)が、投影レンズ24の投影レンズ軸A5のランプユニット軸A2に対する傾きよりも小さくされている。シェード基準軸線A4のランプユニット軸A2に対する傾きは、好適には、投影レンズ軸A5のランプユニット軸A2に対する傾きの半分以下の角度とされ、実施例2では略10度とされている。
 この車両用灯具10Aは、上記した構成とされることにより、実施例1の車両用灯具10と同様に、照射パターンPiを路面2上に形成できる。このとき、車両用灯具10Aは、ランプユニット20Aにおいて、2つの光源(311、312)に対して、それぞれからの光を入射面41から内方に導きつつ出射面42から出射させる単一の集光レンズ22Aを設けている。そのランプユニット20Aは、集光レンズ22Aにおいて、両光源からそれぞれの出射光軸31Lに略沿う方向で出射された光を入射面41の湾曲入射面部43から入射させるとともに、両光源から広がる(出射光軸31Lに対する角度が大きい)方向で出射された光を入射面41の環状入射面部44から入射させて反射面45で反射させる。このため、ランプユニット20Aは、2つの光源(311、312)に対して単一の集光レンズ22Aを用いても、各光源から出射された光を効率良く利用することができる。
 また、ランプユニット20Aは、光源部21Aおよび集光レンズ22Aをランプユニット軸A2すなわちシェード23のシェード基準軸線A4よりも上側に変位させており、集光レンズ22Aからシェード23の設定領域Asへと向かう光源部21Aからの光の進行方向を、下向きにできる。このため、ランプユニット20Aは、集光レンズ22Aにおける光学的な設定(照射スリット35の上部に向かう光路(光束)を、ランプユニット軸A2と平行とすることと、照射スリット35に向かうに連れてランプユニット軸A2に接近するように下側に傾けることと、の少なくとも一方を満たすものとする)を、シェード23に対する光源部21Aおよび集光レンズ22Aの位置関係で補助できる。これにより、ランプユニット20Aは、集光レンズ22Aにおける光学的な設定のための、入射面41や出射面42の曲率の調整量を軽減することができ、より簡易な構成で集光レンズ22Aからシェード23に至る光路を適切に設定できる。このため、ランプユニット20Aは、ランプユニット軸A2を路面2と平行としても、その路面2上に照射パターンPiを適切に形成できる。
 さらに、ランプユニット20Aは、集光レンズ22Aの集光レンズ軸A3よりも光源部21Aの両光源(311、312)の出射光軸31Lを上側に位置させて、集光レンズ22Aと両光源とを設けている。このため、ランプユニット20Aは、光源部21Aから集光レンズ22Aへと向かう光源部21Aからの光の進行方向も下向きにできる。これにより、ランプユニット20Aは、集光レンズ22Aにおける光学的な設定(照射スリット35の上部に向かう光路(光束)を、ランプユニット軸A2と平行とすることと、照射スリット35に向かうに連れてランプユニット軸A2に接近するように下側に傾けることと、の少なくとも一方を満たすものとする)を、集光レンズ22Aに対する光源部21Aの位置関係で補助できる。これにより、ランプユニット20Aは、集光レンズ22Aにおける光学的な設定のための、入射面41や出射面42の曲率の調整量をより軽減することができ、より簡易な構成で集光レンズ22Aからシェード23に至る光路を適切に設定できる。
 実施例2の車両用灯具10Aおよびランプユニット20Aは、以下の各作用効果を得ることができる。この車両用灯具10Aおよびランプユニット20Aは、基本的に実施例1の車両用灯具10およびランプユニット20と同様の構成であるので、実施例1と同様の効果を得られる。
 それに加えて、ランプユニット20Aは、遮光部材(シェード23)が、基準点(シェード基準点Ps)を中心として遮光基準軸線(シェード基準軸線A4)の投影レンズ24側を下側に変位させるように回転されて配置されている。このため、ランプユニット20Aは、投影レンズ24の投影レンズ軸A5と近い傾斜とされている光束を、遮光部材(シェード23)から投影レンズ24へと向かい易くすることができ、投影レンズ24による投影レンズ軸A5上への投影を補助できる。特に、ランプユニット20Aは、ランプユニット軸A2に対する遮光基準軸線(シェード基準軸線A4)の傾きを、ランプユニット軸A2に対する投影レンズ軸A5の傾きよりも小さくしている。このため、ランプユニット20Aは、遮光部材(シェード23)と、投影レンズ24と、で下側に向かう角度を段階的に大きくできるので、より円滑に光束が進行する向きを下側に傾けることができる。
 したがって、本開示に係るランプユニット(車両用灯具)としての実施例2のランプユニット20A(車両用灯具10A)は、路面2に対してランプユニット軸A2の傾きを殆ど傾けることなく路面2に照射パターンPiを形成できる。
 以上、本開示の車両用灯具およびランプユニットを各実施例に基づき説明してきたが、具体的な構成については各実施例に限られるものではなく、請求の範囲の各請求項に係る発明の要旨を逸脱しない限り、設計の変更や追加等は許容される。
 なお、各実施例では、V字形状の記号である3つの照射図柄Diを車両1から遠ざかる方向に略等しい間隔で整列させて照射パターンPiを構成している。しかしながら、照射パターンは、シェード(遮光部材)により形成するものであれば、照射図柄Diとしての記号の図柄や形成される位置や照射図柄Diの数等は適宜設定すればよく、各実施例の構成に限定されない。そして、シェード23の各スリット部36は、その設定された照射パターンに応じて図柄や形成される位置や数等を適宜すればよく、各実施例の構成に限定されない。また、車両用灯具10、10A(ランプユニット20、20A)は、各実施例では車両1の前部に設けられていたが、車両1に対して照射パターンを形成する位置に応じて車両1に設ければ、前照灯の灯室や尾灯の灯室(車両の後部の左右両側の灯室)に配置してもよく、各実施例の構成に限定されない。
 また、各実施例では、光源(31、311、312)をアンバー色の光を出射するものとしている。しかしながら、光源から出射する光の色は、設ける箇所や伝える内容に合わせて適宜設定すればよく、各実施例の構成に限定されない。
 さらに、各実施例では、遮光部材として、集光レンズ22、22Aで集光された光を照射スリット35から通すシェード23を用いている。しかしながら、遮光部材は、集光レンズ22で集光された光を部分的に通す照射スリット35が設けられたものであれば、他の構成でもよく、各実施例の構成に限定されない。その他の構成としては、例えば、光の透過を阻む板状のフィルム部材に、光を部分的に透過させる照射スリットを設け、集光レンズ22、22Aを経た光を照射スリットから透過させる遮光板(フィルタ)とすることができる。
 各実施例では、運転手が運転する車両1に車両用灯具10、10A(ランプユニット20、20A)を設けている。しかしながら、車両用灯具(ランプユニット)は、自動運転機能を有する車両に設けられてもよく、各実施例の構成に限定されない。この場合、車両用灯具(ランプユニット)は、設けられる用途に応じたタイミング、すなわち車両1の動作に関する何らかの意図に応じたタイミングで照射パターンを形成すればよく、各実施例の構成に限定されない。
 各実施例では、ランプユニット20、20Aにおいて、光源部21、21Aがヒートシンクとしての機能を有する設置台部26に設けられており、この設置台部26が光源筐体25に接続される構成とされている。しかしながら、ランプユニットは、光源からの光を集光レンズで遮光部材上に集光し、その遮光部材を通した光を投影レンズで投影することで照射パターンを形成するものであれば、光源部は筐体の端部に設けられてもよく、他の構成でもよく、各実施例の構成に限定されない。
 各実施例では、単一の光源31、または2つの光源311、312を設けるものとしている。しかしながら、この光源の数や配置は適宜設定すればよく、各実施例の構成に限定されない。ここで、複数の光源を設ける場合、集光レンズ22、22Aが、上下方向で光学設定に従い最も収差の少ない状態での各光源からの光の制御を可能とするために、幅方向に並列させることが望ましい。
 各実施例では、ランプユニット20、20Aのランプユニット軸A2と信号灯ユニット13の信号灯ユニット軸A1とを平行としている。しかしながら、ランプユニット軸A2と信号灯ユニット軸A1とは、略平行とされていれば、完全に平行ではなくてもよい。ここで、略平行とは、互いが為す角度が3度までを上限とし、好適には1度以内とする。このため、ランプユニット軸A2は、路面2に対しても、同様に略平行すなわち3度を上限として傾けられていてもよい。
 各実施例では、集光レンズ22、22Aが、集光レンズ軸A3がランプユニット軸A2と平行とされている。しかしながら、集光レンズ22、22Aは、レンズ中心点Lcを中心として集光レンズ軸A3の遮光部材(シェード23)側を下側に変位させるように回転されて配置されていてもよく、各実施例の構成に限定されない。このとき、ランプユニット軸A2に対する集光レンズ軸A3の傾きは、ランプユニット軸A2に対する遮光基準軸線(シェード基準軸線A4)の傾きよりも小さくされていることが望ましく、好適には、遮光基準軸線のランプユニット軸A2に対する傾きの半分以下の角度とする。このようにすると、集光レンズ22、22Aからシェード23に至る光路を上記のように設定することを補助することができ、集光レンズ22、22Aにおける光学的な設定のための、入射面41や出射面42の曲率の調整量を軽減することができる。
 実施例1では、シェード23のシェード基準軸線A4をランプユニット軸A2と平行とし、実施例2では、シェード23のシェード基準軸線A4をランプユニット軸A2に対して投影レンズ24側を下側に変位させるように傾斜されている。しかしながら、実施例1の構成において実施例2のようにシェード23を傾けるものとしてもよく、実施例2の構成において実施例1のようにシェード23を傾けないものとしてもよく、各実施例の構成に限定されない。
 各実施例では、車両用灯具10(10A)において、信号灯ユニット13の信号灯放熱部17の一部と、ランプユニット20(20A)の設置台部26の一部と、をランプハウジング11の外部に露出させている。しかしながら、車両用灯具は、信号灯ユニット13とランプユニット20(20A)との全体をランプハウジング11の内部に収容してもよく、各実施例の構成に限定されない。この場合、信号灯ユニット13とランプユニット20(20A)とは、ブラケット等を介してランプハウジング11に固定することにより、信号灯ユニット軸A1とランプユニット軸A2とを平行(略平行)として設けることができる。
 各実施例では、車両用灯具10(10A)において、ランプユニット20(20A)を信号灯ユニット13に隣接させている。しかしながら、車両用灯具は、上記した構成のランプユニット20(20A)を備えるものであればよく、各実施例の構成に限定されない。この車両用灯具は、ランプユニット軸A2を路面2と平行(略平行)としてランプユニット20(20A)を設けることができるので、車両1への搭載の位置や態様の自由度を高めることができ、使い勝手を向上できる。この場合であっても、車両用灯具は、信号灯ユニットを備える車両用灯具に対して、その信号灯ユニット軸とランプユニット軸A2とを平行(略平行)として併設することができる。

Claims (9)

  1.  ランプユニット軸に沿って並べられた、光源と、前記光源からの光を集光する集光レンズと、前記集光レンズで集光された光を部分的に通す照射スリットが設けられた遮光部材と、前記遮光部材を通した光を投影して照射パターンを形成する投影レンズと、を備え、
     前記投影レンズは、前記ランプユニット軸上に基準焦点が設定され、前記基準焦点を中心として下側に回転された位置に配置されて投影レンズ軸が前記ランプユニット軸よりも下向きとされていることを特徴とするランプユニット。
  2.  前記投影レンズは、前記投影レンズ軸を中心に設定された光の入射範囲内に前記ランプユニット軸を位置させるように下向きに傾けられていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のランプユニット。
  3.  前記集光レンズは、前記光源から出射されて前記照射スリットの上端を通る光の進行方向を、前記ランプユニット軸と平行とすることと、前記ランプユニット軸よりも下側に傾けるものとすることと、の少なくとも一方を満たすものとすることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のランプユニット。
  4.  前記光源は、発光面を有し、前記発光面を鉛直方向で前記集光レンズの集光レンズ軸と重なる位置として配置されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のランプユニット。
  5.  前記遮光部材は、前記ランプユニット軸上に基準点が設定され、
     前記投影レンズは、前記基準焦点を前記基準点の近傍に位置させて配置されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のランプユニット。
  6.  前記遮光部材は、前記基準点を通りつつ前記照射スリットが設けられた面に直交する遮光基準軸線が設定され、前記基準点を中心として前記遮光基準軸線の前記投影レンズ側を下側に変位させるように回転されて配置され、前記ランプユニット軸に対する前記遮光基準軸線の傾きが前記ランプユニット軸に対する前記投影レンズ軸の傾きよりも小さくされていることを特徴とする請求項5に記載のランプユニット。
  7.  前記集光レンズは、レンズ中心点を中心として集光レンズ軸の前記遮光部材側を下側に変位させるように回転されて配置され、前記ランプユニット軸に対する前記集光レンズ軸の傾きが前記ランプユニット軸に対する前記遮光基準軸線の傾きよりも小さくされていることを特徴とする請求項6に記載のランプユニット。
  8.  請求項1に記載のランプユニットを備えることを特徴とする車両用灯具。
  9.  請求項8に記載の車両用灯具であって、
     さらに、信号灯ユニット軸上に信号灯発光部が設定された信号灯ユニットを備え、
     前記ランプユニットと前記信号灯ユニットとは、前記ランプユニット軸と前記信号灯ユニット軸とが平行とされて隣接されていることを特徴とする車両用灯具。
