Description
A CONCRETE PIPE CONTAINING A GRP LAYER
Technical Field
The invention relates generally to a concrete pipe comprising a GRP (Fiber Glass Reinforced Plastic) layer.
In particular, the invention relates to a concrete pipe for use in sewers and irrigation channels, comprising a GRP layer that prevents contact with water and thus increases its service life.
Prior Art
Concrete pipes are infrastructure elements used in underground sewage and irrigation canals produced with molds under high pressure with sand, cement and water. Since the chemical resistance and mechanical values of concrete pipes are low, their service life is limited. Since they are hollow due to their weight, they are less likely to float in the ground. They corrode in alkaline or acidic environment. They require frequent maintenance, repair and replacement. Although maintenance costs are low, they are very difficult to repair.
In the current technique, in order to increase the service life of buried pipes, borings are made at certain intervals on the route where the pipeline will pass and tests are carried out on the samples taken and if there are chemical substances in the ground that may damage the pipe, the appropriate pipe is selected. In addition, when selecting the type and degree of compaction of the backfill material around the pipe, the depth of cover, the average groundwater level, the properties of the natural ground in the field, the pipe material and the degree of compaction to be applied should be carefully determined.
As a result of a prior art, an application numbered TR2016/05184, titled "Use of cutting dust waste generated during the production of glass fiber reinforced plastic (GRP) pipe products in concrete production" was found. In the application in question, it is mentioned that cutting dust waste generated during the production of glass fiber
reinforced plastic (GRP) pipe products is added to the concrete mortar production stage, which is formed by mixing cement and water.
As a result of another search in the prior art, an application numbered TR2012/07445, titled "Pipe made of PVC composite material with GRP pipe cutting waste additive" was found. The application in question describes a new blended polyvinylchloride (PVC) matrix wastewater pipe produced by adding cutting waste from glass fiber reinforced polyester (GRP) pipes, which can be used for wastewater removal in buildings, embedded in concrete or outside, impermeable, not affected by acids, environmentally friendly and long-lasting since it is produced with waste material.
In the applications encountered in the prior art, the lifetime of concrete pipes is increased and durable structures are described. However, there is no mention of a GRP layer that reduces friction values by creating a smooth surface, reduces bacteria, odors and deposits, and increases the flow rate of water. There is also no mention of a reinforcement that increases the mechanical strength of the concrete pipe.
As a result, improvements are being made in concrete pipes, so new structures are needed to eliminate the disadvantages mentioned above and to provide solutions to existing systems.
Purpose of the Invention
The invention relates to a concrete pipe that meets the requirements mentioned above, eliminates all disadvantages and brings some additional advantages.
The main purpose of the invention is to prevent the contact of concrete pipes used in sewage and irrigation channels with water thanks to the GRP layer it contains and thus to increase their service life.
In order to realize all the advantages mentioned above and to be understood from the detailed description below, the present invention is a concrete pipe used in sewerage or irrigation channels and comprises a GRP layer that prevents the concrete pipe from contact with water, reduces friction/abrasion values thanks to the smooth surface it creates, increases its mechanical values and corrosion resistance, and a concrete reinforcement on the GRP layer.
The structural and characteristic features and all the advantages of the invention will be more clearly understood by means of the figures given below and the detailed description written by making references to these figures. Therefore, the evaluation should be made by taking these figures and the detailed description into consideration.

Detailed Description of the Invention
In this detailed description, the preferred embodiments of the concrete pipe (4) according to the invention are described solely for the purpose of a better understanding of the subject matter and without any limiting effect.
The invention, a view of which is shown in Figure 1 at the production stage, is a concrete pipe (4) used in sewerage and irrigation channels, containing a GRP layer (2) that prevents contact with water and thus increases its lifetime, reduces friction and wear values, increases its mechanical values and corrosion resistance.
In a preferred embodiment the concrete pipe (4) further comprises reinforcement (5) to increase its mechanical strength.
Figure 1 shows a view of the concrete pipe (4) which is the subject of the invention during its production. During the production of the concrete pipe (4), there is an inner mold (1 ) and an outer mold (5) between which the concrete is poured to determine the inner and outer diameters.
The GRP layer (2) developed with the invention is used to increase the mechanical values and corrosion resistance of concrete pipes (4) and to reduce friction and wear values.
In alternative embodiments of the invention, ribs, riprap, stone particles are applied to the surface of the GRP layer (2) to ensure adhesion of the concrete.
During the production of the concrete pipe (4), reinforcement (3) is placed on the GRP layer (2). The GRP layer (2) with reinforcement (3) is placed on the steel inner mold (1 ) of the concrete pipe (4) production machine. Then the outer mold (5) of the concrete production machine is placed. Concrete is filled between the inner mold (1 ) and outer mold (5). After the concrete is filled, vibration is applied to the formwork to ensure that the concrete is compacted, the air gaps are filled, and the gap formed on the formwork is filled with concrete again. Then the compaction process is applied. Then, the inner mold (1 ) and outer mold (5) fixed to the machine are separated from the concrete pipe (4) with the help of tools such as pistons. The concrete pipe (4) is taken from the production machine with the help of vehicles such as forklifts and placed in a hot steam oven for curing/hardening, in other words, setting. After setting, it is taken to the storage yard.
