Abstract

The invention provides a wheel and axle assembly suitable for a vehicle comprising an axle member and a wheel member secured to the axle member, a bearing holder, a bearing unit which serves to mount the axle member rotatably relative to the bearing holder, and a mechanical face seal adjacent the bearing unit, the mechanical face seal acting to prevent or limit the ingress of liquid and debris through the wheel to the bearing.
