Abstract

A safety detaching hook 10 includes a pair of scissor plates 12, 14 which are mounted on a pivot pin 32 for pivotal displacement relative to one another between a normally closed condition and an open condition. The scissor plates 12, 14 are positioned between outer plates 28, 30. The scissor plates 12, 14 each have a curved catch plate striking formation 16 which striking formations, in the closed condition of the scissor plates curve downwardly outwardly and protrude in opposite directions from between the outer plates 28, 30.
