Abstract
La invencion consiste en un método para reducir la cantidad de ácidos carboxílicos en materias primas de alimentacion de petroleo que incluye lossiguientes pasos:(a) agregar a dicha alimentacion de petroleo un agente catalíticoconstitu ído por un compuesto oleosoluble o dispersable en aceite deun metal seleccionado entre el grupo que consiste en los metales de los Grupos VB, Grupos VIB, VIIB y VIII, donde la cantidad de metal en dicha aimentacion depetroleo es de por lomenos apro ximadamente 5ppm en peso (b) calentar dicha alimentacion de petroleo con dicho agente catalizador en un reactor a unatemperatura de aproximadamente 400 a aproximadamente 800°F (aproximadamente 204,44 a aproximadamente 426,67°C), yde una pres ion aproximada a la presionatmosférica a aproximadamente 1000 psig (aproximadamente 6996,33 kPa) practicamente en ausencia de hidrogeno y (c) barrer el reactor que contienedicha alimentacion de petroleo y dicho agentecatalítico con un gas inerte para mantener la presion parcial combinada de agua y dioxido de carbono por debajode aproximadamente 50 psia (aproximadamente 344,75 kPa).
