Abstract
Se trata de la fundicion a presion de aleaciones de magnesio en un estado fundido o tixotropico con una máquina de fundicion a presion que tiene unmolde o matriz que define una cavidad matriz de un sistema de circulacion del metal que incluye unmedi o herramienta matriz o molde que defina al menosun canal de colada desde el cual se puede inyectar aleaciones fundidas de magnesio dentro de la cavidad matriz. El sistema de circulacion del metal esuna forma de proveer un control de lasvelocidades d e circulacion del metal dentro del sistema de circulacion por el cual sustancialmente todo el metalque circula por toda la cavidad matriz está viscoso o semi-solido. El llenado de la cavidad matriz puede proceder progresivamente pormedio de frentes solidosdel metal que se alejan de una puerta u otro sitio de inyeccion. La circulacion de las aleaciones de magnesio desde el canal de colada puede ser por mediode al menos una region de expansion controlada del sistema decirculacion del metal en cu ya region la circulacion del metal se puede esparcirlateralmente con respecto a su direccion de inyeccion con una reduccion resultante en la velocidad de circulacion en relacion con su velocidad en elcanal de colada. Sedefine el aparato y proceso ut ilizado, en donde la relacion entre el área de la seccion transversal de circulacion por la puertay el área eficaz de la seccion transversal de circulacion por el canal de colada es de 2:1 a 4:1 y es posible operarpara alcanzar una velocidad del met alfundido a través del canal de colada de 140 a 165 m/s.
