Abstract
Se refiere a un método donde el concentrado de cobre que soporta hierro sulfídico es percolado mediante el principio de contra-corriente, en un medio ambiente de cloruro. El percolado se produce con la ayuda del cobre bivalente y un gas que soporta oxígeno como un proceso continuo multietapa, bajo presion normal, a una temperatura que en su mayoría corresponde al punto de ebullicion de la solucion. Parte de la materia solida insoluble es devuelta, en direccion opuesta al flujo principal de la materia solida, a una de las etapas previas de percolado o a los reactores donde, como resultado del extenso tiempo de percolado, el desperdicio del hierro percolado es recuperado principalmente como hematita.
