Abstract
La presente se describe un sensor sumergido para ser utilizado en un recipiente metalúrgico, como una artesa. El sensor se dispone de manera que en uso se encuentre por debajo de una superficie de un bano de metal en fusión dentro del recipiente. El sensor convenientemente se extiende a través de la pared del recipiente y se proyecta en el volumen del recipiente. Un extremo superior del sensor se encuentra alojado en un conjunto de protección. El conjunto de protección de la presente puede adoptar una forma tal que controle el patrón del flujo de metal en fusión en el recipiente o mida de un modo más preciso el metal en fusión que abandona el recipiente. Convenientemente, la presente puede combinar la funcionalidad requerida para la modificación del patrón de flujo por ejemplo a través de una división, bloque de impacto, o tabique, con la funcionalidad requerida para un sensor. Esta combinación reduce costos y complejidad.
