Abstract
Un conjunto de células de combustible suministra agua y producto secundario de vapor de agua a un circuito de agua de enfriamiento suministrado a un tanque de almacenamiento térmico del cual puede ser reciclado a la pila de células de combustible como entrada directa a los conjuntos de membranas-electrodos, para uso como combustible/precalentamiento de oxidante y/o inyección de agua directo al conjunto de membranas-electrodos. La pureza del agua administrada a la membrana es de este modo asegurada. El tanque de almacenamiento térmico sirve para un desacoplamiento de la carga térmica y la carga eléctrica en la pila de células de combustible en una unidad combinada de administración de energía térmica y eléctrica. Bajo condiciones de baja carga eléctrica externa, la pila de células de combustible y su circuito de enfriamiento pueden ser utilizados a alta capacidad para proporcionar agua caliente.
