Abstract

Esta invencion se relaciona con un proceso para preparar un catalizador que comprende una zeolita derivada de arcilla. En particular, la invencion comprende combinar un compuesto de itrio con una zeolita producida mediante el tratamiento de arcilla con una fuente de silice y bajo condiciones alcalinas. La zeolita derivada de arcilla se puede combinar además con precursores convencionales de matriz y/o aglomerantes para formar particulados adecuados para utilizarlos como catalizadores en craqueo catalítico fluido (FCC). Por otra parte, la arcilla que se trata con la fuente de silice y condiciones alcalinas puede estar en forma particulada con tamanos adecuados para utilizar en FCC, y la zeolita se produce in situ dentro del particulado. El compuesto de itrio luego se combina con la zeolita en el particulado, por ejemplo, mediante impregnacion. Se ha demostrado que el agregado del compuesto de itrio mejora la conservacion del área superficial de zeolita, y la estabilidad de zeolita en catalizadores que comprenden zeolitas derivadas de arcilla.
