Abstract
Métodos y composiciones para usar en el cultivo de bacterias metilotrofas facultativas con pigmentación rosa (PPFM) y/o bacterias metanotrofas, en donde la fermentación comprende ácidos del lúpulo para inhibir el crecimiento de contaminantes bacterianos. Reivindicación 1: Un método para inhibir el crecimiento de contaminantes bacterianos en un medio de cultivo que comprende bacterias metilotrofas facultativas con pigmentación rosa (PPFM) y/o bacterias metanotrofas, caracterizado porque dicho método comprende: (a) proveer un medio de fermentación estéril que comprende nutrientes adecuados para el cultivo de bacterias PPFM y/o metanotrofas; (b) agregar ácidos del lúpulo al medio de fermentación estéril; (c) agregar un inóculo de células PPFM y/o metanotrofas al medio de fermentación para proveer un caldo de fermentación; y (d) mantener el caldo de fermentación en condiciones adecuadas para el cultivo de bacterias PPFM y/o metanotrofas; inhibiendo de esta manera el crecimiento de contaminantes bacterianos. Reivindicación 18: Un caldo de fermentación caracterizado porque comprende nutrientes, una población en crecimiento de bacterias metilotrofas facultativas con pigmentación rosa (PPFM) y/o bacterias metanotrofas, y ácidos del lúpulo, en donde dicha población de bacterias PPFM y/o metanotrofas tiene un título de por lo menos 1 ´ 10⁷ UFC por mililitro, y dichos ácidos del lúpulo comprenden ácidos b en una concentración de por lo menos 7,5 ppm.
