  Verfahren zur Herstellung von Nährstoffen fiir die Hefe zum Zweck der   Presshefe-   fabrikation. 



   Das vorliegende Verfahren zielt darauf ab, animalische Abfallprodukte, wie beispielsweise Abfälle von Fischkonserven,   Rückstände   der zur Ölgewinnung   dien : nden   ungeniessbaren Fische, Fisehguano, Fleisch-, Blut-, Horn-, Ledermehl u. dgl. für die Ernährung der Hefe zum Zweck der Presshefefabrikation dienstbar zu machen. Zu diesem Behufe werden die Abfälle unter Zusatz von Alkalien oder Erdalkalien, insbesondere Kalk, einer Destillation mit Wasserdampf unterworfen, wodurch die Geruchstoffe abgetrieben werden und ein grosser Teil der stickstoffhaltigen Verbindungen in Lösung geht, wogegen die übrigen Bestandteile ungelöst bleiben. Die Lösung kann nun unmittelbar als Nährmittel für die Hefe verwendet oder vorher konzentriert werden. Die   Rückstände   können auf Düngemittel verarbeitet werden. 



   Es ist bereits vorgeschlagen worden, das Keratin in tierischen Haaren und ähnlichen keratinhaltigen Produkten durch Behandlung mit Säuren, Alkalien oder durch sehr lange anhaltendes Erhitzen mit Wasser unter Druck zu hydrolysieren und entweder die so erhältliche Lösung selbst oder ihren Trocken-
