Österreichische PATENTSCHRIFT Nr. 10521. MAXIMILIAN STORP IN HAMBURG.

Austrian PATENT LETTER No. 10521. MAXIMILIAN STORP IN HAMBURG.
Process for the production of gypsum! atten.
The present invention relates to a method of manufacturing pressed plasterboard.
So far you could plasterboard u. The like. Only produce by simply letting the gypsum paste mixed with water harden in molds. However, plaster of paris sets extremely quickly, so that all handouts must take place in quick succession.
Nevertheless, one does not gain the time to press the plasterboard; but pressing after setting is pointless. It has not left untried to delay the setting of the plaster by adding suitable additives. The success was a more convenient processing, but the material could not be pressed because the gypsum paste still had to contain a large water mongo in order not to set too early and therefore ooze out of the joints of the molds under the pressure.
Additives for the purpose of imparting increased strength to plaster of paris have also become known several times, and in addition to the production of a pressable plaster paste, the present process aims at increasing the degree of hardness that can be achieved by pressing.
The new dipses process is that the plaster of paris is given an addition of one fifth of its gene ichtimengo to chloromagnesium. This mixture is made up with water in a known manner, with the addition of water being as small as
EMI1.1
Powder is then by means of the known plate pressing machines, which have been used to date for the production of ('onent- or clay plates, formed into plates that
EMI1.2
than is unique to plaster of paris.
In order to give the plates a good appearance and to keep their viewing surface permanently good, they can be provided with a coating of varnish, soaked with paraffin or coated with a celluloid solution in a known manner, it also being possible for the plates to be printed beforehand.
In this way it is possible to produce panels that look exactly like the well-known clay wall cladding panels on the outside and can be supplied much cheaper because the material is cheaper and, in particular, the working method is simpler, as the conventional firing process for clay panels is omitted. After simply drying out in the air for about 48 hours, the panels achieve a degree of hardness that allows them to be processed.
