Transformer with coil support.
It is customary in transformer construction to provide cylinder coils at both ends with rings of the same or approximately the same diameter made of insulation material (e.g. hard paper). The coil can be perfectly supported in the axial direction by means of these rings. In the radial direction, the coil has a great strength, especially with a circular cross-section. Only the fastening of the coil ends causes difficulty, since these ends have the tendency under the influence of strong currents to separate from the coil.
According to the invention, this inconvenience can be avoided by the front face of the
EMI1.1
In the drawing, an embodiment of the invention is shown. a is the Vicklungs cylinder, b the isolation ring. The approach c holds the end turn or several of the outermost turns in the radial direction. The coil can be held even more securely by an inner shoulder d.
Fig. 2 is a partial development of the ring b. This shows how the openings for the coolant are designed. They can either be cut out on the edge of the ring facing away from the coil, e, or penetrate the ring wall as holes f.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Transformer or similar electrical apparatus with rings made of insulating material for end support of cylindrical coils, characterized in that the end face of the ring (b) of a
