Kombinierte elektrische Glüh-Glimmlampe.

Combined electric incandescent glow lamp.
The external shape of the combined electric incandescent glow lamp is similar to the previous shape of the metal filament lamp; the arrangement of the metal threads is also the same. Instead of the glass rod, which previously served as a carrier for the metal threads, a glow lamp is arranged, which is set to alternate activity with the incandescent lamp by switching in the new socket.
As FIG. 1 illustrates, the bulb F is shown in which the glow lamp B is located, which at the same time serves as a carrier for the metal threads D arranged around it in the form of a jacket.
The series resistor required for operating the glow lamp is housed in the base and shown with W in the drawing.
There is no metal plate at the base of the glow lamp, as before, but two contact rings A and B.
The supply line for the metal filament lamp is arranged by melting the ends

and fastened in thread G.
If the combined incandescent glow lamp is screwed into the socket (FIG. 2), the contact ring A. touches the center contact A1, while the contact ring B rests on the ring marked B2 in the socket. As represents the contact for the glow lamp, B2 the contact for the metal filament lamp and C the common derivative.
To put the metal filament lamp into operation, the insulated disc a (Fig. 2) mounted in the socket is rotated by means of the rotary knob d (Fig. 3) from the position shown in the drawing (Fig. 2) by 1200 of the axis. This switches on the metal filament lamp through contacts B2 and C. With a further rotation of the disk a by 120, the glow lamp is activated by the contacts A1 and C and the metal filament lamp is thus switched off.
A further rotation by 1200 sets the contact t in the position as shown in FIG. 2, whereby both lamps are switched off.
The triangle b in Fig. 4 is used to fix the turntable a by the spring c.
EMI1.2
The lead to the socket takes place in the usual way.
