Description

Machine for the production of tubular glass hollow bodies.

When producing hollow glass bodies, which are formed in a mold by propelling a batch of glass by means of a piston, one soon notices an inaccuracy of the products produced. This disadvantage is due to the fact that the shape, which consists of parts connected to one another in an articulated manner, wears out prematurely on its lower surface due to the opening necessary after each pressing process and the resulting movement on the work table. Strict control of the finished work piece is therefore necessary in order to replace the shapes with new ones or to rework them if inaccuracies are observed.

This disadvantage is particularly evident in the production of the known tubular hollow glass bodies which are subsequently to be divided into individual rings, and the aim of the invention is to remedy this disadvantage.

This consists essentially in the fact that the multi-part mold resting on the work table, which can be opened and closed in a known manner, is resiliently suspended with all its parts in such a way that any frictional pressure when moving the molded parts on the work table is eliminated.

In the drawing, an embodiment of the machine is shown, u. Between Fig. 1 shows a plan, Figs. 2 and 3 show a front and a side view of the mold.

The machine has the known shape, the parts 5, 6, 7, 8 of which are connected to one another by hinges 9, 10, 11. Handles 12, 1, 3 are provided on the mold parts 5 and 8 in order to be able to close and open the mold around a base piece 14. According to the invention, the individual molded parts are suspended by means of spring-loaded turnbuckles so that they do not wear out on their lower surface when the mold is opened and closed.
