Feed trough for pigs.
Feed troughs for pigs are already known which can be tilted about horizontal pegs, which pegs are fastened to the end walls of the trough and are rotatable in bearings provided in the side walls of an opening in the stable wall.
These troughs are tipped out of the stable wall when they are to be emptied and cleaned and are in the feeding or feeding area for the purpose of holding. Emptying position is provided with lockable lever devices, which, however, are disadvantageous in particular in large stables in that a large number of such tilting devices increases the purchase costs significantly and, moreover, makes their permanent maintenance very difficult.
The subject of the present invention is such a feeding trough, which does not require a lever and locking device, but due to its cross-sectional shape in the form of a non-equilateral trapezoid and the eccentric position of its axis of rotation relative to its horizontal line of gravity both in the emptying and in the feeding position his excess weight is kept by itself.
The subject of the invention is shown in the drawing. Fig. 1 shows the tiltable feeding trough in the diagram. The trough made of concrete has a pivot pin A which is concreted in by means of an angularly bent projection and which rests in the side bearings of the stable wall. A handle G embedded in concrete at the corner of the front wall is used to pivot the trough.
2 shows a side view of the trough in the feeding position, in which it remains by itself due to its excess weight and its lower inner edge: 2 rests on the stable floor; its shape allows the feed to be easily cut from the outside and, on the other hand, enables the pigs to comfortably eat inside the stables. The dash-dotted representation in Fig. 2 shows the trough in the cleaning position, in which the same gets by pulling on the handle G and tilting around its axis of rotation / 1. In this position, too, the trough is only made by its excess weight

to lie down.
Fig. 3 shows the trough in plan view. The position of the axis of rotation is also chosen such that the trough still allows a good closure of the stable wall opening in all of its positions and that it cannot be tossed or lifted by the pigs, so the feed is not thrown out either . The most favorable position of the axis of rotation for achieving the stable positions of the trough required for the emptying and feeding position then results with consideration of the different inclinations of the front and rear trough walls. if the distances of the
