Die vorliegende Erfindung betrifft ein in ein Bett umwandelbares Sofa, welches derart eingerichtet ist, dass gleichzeitig beim Umdrehen des Sitzes derselbe mit den beiden Armlehnen nach vorn geschoben wird, so dass dadurch eine erheblich grössere Breite für das Bettlager gewonnen wird. Ausserdem können die Armlehnen noch unabhängig von einander in jede gewünschte Schräglage eingestellt werden, so dass jede Armlehne wie ein Keilkissen benutzt werden kann.

an dem Unterteil der Armlehne fest angebracht ist und greift in eine Zahnstange fein, die in dem feststehenden Gestellrahmen a, an dem sich auch die Sofarückenlehne befindet, ningelassen ist. Durch Drehen des Sofasitzes von vorn nach hinten, wird das Zahnrad c in der Pfeilrichtung (siehe Fig. 2) in Bewegung versetzt und treibt das Zahnrad d an, welches sich dann auf der Zahnstange abrollt und damit die Vorwärtsbewegung des Sofa- sit/. cs be/w. Matratzn und der Armlehnen bewirkt.
Um das Sofa in ein Bett umwandeln zu können, werden zunächst die beiden Armlehnen angehoben und umgeklappt. Zu diesem Zwecke ist an jeder vorderen und hinteren Seite jeder Armlehne ein nach unten kreisförmig gebogener Stab 11, angebracht, der mit einem Schlitz versehen ist, in den ein an dem Unterteil der Armlehne befestigter Stift m eingreift. Durch diese Einrichtung stehen die Armlehnen in jeder Lage fest, und es ist daher möglich, jede Armlehne als Keilkissen einstellen zu können. Nachdem die Armlehnen umgeklappt sind, wird der Sofasitz von vorn nach hinten gedreht, damit die untere als Matratze ausgebildete Seite nach oben kommt, während gleichzeitig die Matratze mit Armlehnen hei dieser Drehbewegung eina Bewegung nach vorn erfährt.
Um nun die nach oben gekehrte Matratze in ihrer Lage festzuhalten, sind an dem Polsterrahmen a Federn i befestigt, die gegen die Sofaleiste k drücken. Die Feststellung des Kehrrahniens a ini- Sinne der anderen Drehrichtung geschieht dadurch, dass sich die seitlich an demselben angeordneten Stifte n auf die Seitenteile des Sofarabmens auflegen (Fig. 4). Die Leiste k ist am Unterteil der Armlehnen fest angebracht und, wenn der Sofasitz nach oben gekehrt ist, ruht der Polsterarm a darauf.
