Membrane or vibrating organ for telephones, loudspeakers or microphones.
The invention relates to a membrane or a vibrating element for loudspeakers and is particularly suitable for membranes which are supported by means of a flexible strip attached to their periphery. It has been found that the material from which the strip is made affects the quality of the sound. It has been noticed that a rustling effect which is unfavorable for the sound is achieved when e.g. B. linen is used as the material. For this reason one looked around for means to fix the vibrating organ in such a way that the mentioned effect does not occur.
According to the invention you now make the flexible strip of a woolen textile fabric, such as. B. flannel or serge. This has the advantage that the rapid does not occur. Particularly good results have been achieved by sewing the membrane onto the strips.
Care must be taken that the stitches are not made too large, so that no air flow occurs between the vibrating organ and the strip when the vibrating organ is moving. The strip is namely attached to a frame, as a result of which the vibration element can move back and forth like a piston and consequently excites sound vibrations both in front of and behind the frame. The dimensions of the frame are now expediently chosen such that the free path between the front and rear of the vibrating element is not too small, so that the lower tones can also be audibly reproduced. However, it is a condition for such a design that no air flow takes place between the strip and the organ of visual vibration.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Membrane or vibration element for telephones, loudspeakers or microphones, which is fastened to a frame by means of a flexible strip, characterized in that the strip is made of a woolen textile fabric such as flannel or serge.
