  JOHANN LUX IN WIEN.

   Zwischendecke.

  JOHANN LUX IN VIENNA.

   False ceiling.

The subject matter of the present invention is an intermediate ceiling which, with a low construction height, allows the production of a heat and water-tight and also soundproof ceiling. Since there is also no need to fill the floor, there is also the advantage that the floor remains free from vermin of any kind.

The drawing shows an embodiment of the ceiling. The essence of the latter consists in the use of cork stone both as a covering means of the carrier, preferably wooden carrier, as well as for the production of the actual floor and to cover the space between the slide-in strips, between which floor layers a layer of Concrete is installed. On the underside, the supports are provided in the usual way with a layer of stucco and a coating of mortar or plaster, unless special conditions make a cork stone insulation appear in place here as well.

In the drawing, 1 denotes the ceiling beams, 2 the slide-in strips attached to the latter, 8 the covering of the free space between the latter, which covering is made of so-called reinforced cork stone, i.e. i. cork stone reinforced in its load-bearing capacity by inserts made of wood or metal, or consists of wooden formwork.

The entire cover 3, as well as the carrier 1, are covered at the top by a layer 10 of roofing felt, whereby any spread of heat or moisture from the upper part of the intermediate floor to the lower and vice versa is excluded. 4 means the upholstery wood made of a heat and waterproof cork stone arranged on the ceiling supports. Above this upholstery wood 4 there is a new layer of cork stone, which is also heat and waterproof, covering the entire floor area, over which there may be a layer 6 of linoleum, Parquet or the like. Is. Between layers of cork stone 3 and 5 is a strong layer of concrete. 8 and 9 designate the lower cover of the carrier 1, namely 8 is the stucco and 9 is a plaster or mortar layer.

By using the layers 3 and 5 of cork stone BEZW. a layer of cork stone 5 and a wooden formwork 3 with an intermediate layer of concrete, a floor is created which is not only waterproof and, when using double cork stone layers, also fire-proof, but the soundproofing of the floor is also significantly increased and any vermin is kept away from it. Since the individual layers do not need to be significantly high, you can get by with a low construction height.
