Disc water meter with three-part measuring chamber.

The invention relates to a disk water meter with a three-part measuring chamber. With these knives, the introduction of the measuring disc always causes certain difficulties. Attempts have already been made to give the central part of the measuring chamber such a shape that the measuring disc can be inserted. The type of shaping of the housing part in the known knives brings with it not inconsiderable disadvantages for the storage of the measuring disk and for the correct measurement.

According to the invention, this disadvantage is eliminated in that the central part of the chamber, which has the spherical inner surface, is provided with a groove sufficient for the introduction of the measuring disk at the insertion point for the removable partition.

In the drawing, FIG. 1 shows schematically a water meter according to the invention.

FIG. 2 shows the internally spherical part of the measuring chamber in section with the measuring disk to be inserted in various positions, FIG. 3 is a plan view of FIG. 2 and FIG. 4 shows the measuring chamber partition in a view. a is the knife housing with the connecting pieces b, e and the counter insert d. The three-part measuring chamber housing with the upper part h, the middle part i and the bottom part k is clamped between d and the sealing seat surface e between the nozzle b and e. The swash plate l is located inside the chamber. By means of a pin m connected to I and a shaft n with the spoke wheel o and the gear wheel p, the movement of I is transmitted to the counter.

A bushing s is provided for guiding the shaft n and a conical bushing t is provided for guiding the pin m and wraps around the hollow cylindrical part r of the insert d. The inlet opening M and the outlet opening v are arranged in the middle part of the measuring chamber.

The middle part i is provided with a groove w for the introduction of the measuring disc. The leakage caused by this groove between the two sides of the flying measuring comb prisms is eliminated in that the measuring chamber partition x is arranged in the area of the insertion groove w in such a way that it seals the relevant measuring chamber spaces from one another. For this purpose, the lateral groove y receiving the partition x is somewhat deeper than the groove w. In the disk l a slot z is provided for the partition x in a known manner.

The measuring disc I is used in such a way that it is aligned with that of the groove? opposite upper edge of i and passed through the groove w until it assumes the position in which it adapts to the spherical inner surface of i. In this position it is moved out of the area of the groove w by turning and then moved into the position in which the slot z extends in the extension of the groove y. Now, after the bottom part k has been fastened to i, the partition x can be attached to the central, spherical part of the disk l and inserted into this spherical part by pivoting.

So that the groove y for the partition x has a sufficient depth for sealing in all places without unduly weakening the wall of i, the partition x is slightly rounded at the bottom at the point x '(FIG. 4). The groove w is expediently arranged symmetrically to y, so that after the insertion of x of the groove w on both sides of the partition x, small spaces remain, which completely or partially replace the pressure equalization channel commonly used with circular knives.
