Hammer mill with closed housing.
The subject of the invention is a hammer mill with a closed housing, in which the ground material is discharged with the aid of a wind flow generated in a special fan. The peculiarity of the new mill consists in the design of the housing and the arrangement of the inlet and outlet openings for the blowing wind, through which the course of the wind flow in the mill is influenced; also in the way in which the ground material is introduced into the mill.
The new device provides the advantage of a relatively resistance-free path for the blowing wind, so that only small amounts of work are required to generate it. It results in a strong effect of the wind, which is beneficial for the achievement of high performance from beater mills. It is also possible to make large passage openings for the wind in the housing wall without impairing the closed nature of the housing. The strong blowing wind not only serves to increase the profitability of the mill by ensuring the rapid removal of the sufficiently comminuted ground material, but it also improves the impact effect by reducing the formation of cushions and air buffers on the beaters.
It works this way too
EMI1.1
Ground material according to the invention acts in a similar sense in particular in that the ground material reaches the most effective zone of the beater as soon as it enters the mill. It also reduces the unpleasant phenomenon that otherwise occurs, that regrind parts are caught by the parts of the beater located in the vicinity of the axis of rotation without any noteworthy fragmentation, slide along them and absorb a work-consuming acceleration without corresponding comminution, whereby they also have the cushion effect on the Strengthen clubs.
The invention achieves these advantages in that the feed line for the discharge thread generated outside the mill housing or for the material to be ground. ideally both, in the area of the club against the direction of rotation of this takes place. This is most easily achieved by arranging the entry openings on the outer circumference of the housing in the path described by the clubs. The outlet openings are also expediently provided in this housing part. Both types of openings are expediently arranged so that they are located in the upper part of the housing and have an approximately tangential direction to the circles described by the outer ends of the saw support.
1 and 2 of the drawing show an embodiment of the invention in a schematic representation in a longitudinal and a cross section.
The clubs 1 and 2 are carried by the rapidly rotating shaft ')'. They are enclosed by a housing which is formed from a middle part 4 and the covers 5 and 6 attached to the side
EMI1.2
Walls are elongated in a straight line towards the top. so that the cross-section is approximately U-shaped in its entirety. At the top, the housing 4 is closed by a cover 7, which has openings 8 and 9 for wind and ground material. The inlet and outlet connections 10 and 11 adjoin this at the top. The nozzle 10 here simultaneously mediates the entry of the wind and the grinding

the working area of the beater is abundantly flushed and the crushed particles are removed from the mill as soon as they are formed.
Due to the flat cover 7 and the straight upwardly guided walls of the housing part 4, bulges 15 and 16 are formed in the upper part of the latter opposite the tracks swept by the clubs. These favor the spread of the wind flow in the housing or its confluence after passing through the opening 8 or before exiting through the opening 9, so that a uniform flushing of the housing, which also extends to the bulged covers 5 and 6, is achieved becomes.
The grist parts falling in the direction of arrow 12 hit the outer ends of the beaters 1 and 2, which are rotated in the direction of arrow 17. The former therefore immediately reach the zone of greatest comminution, where the beats of the clubs are fastest and therefore most effective. Many parts therefore leave the mill again through the opening 9 under the influence of the blowing wind without even falling onto the bottom of the housing 4.
The appearance of the grinding material circling in the mill housing under the influence of the beater and the amount of air or gas moved by them, which otherwise occurs when the housings are closed, is reduced by the bulges 15 and 16. The moving masses emerge from the path of the racket and return to the bottom, after they have flown in part against the cover 7 and there have been further crushed. As they fall, they are gripped again powerfully by clubs 1 and 2. The masses moved in the lower part of the housing by the wind flow according to the arrow 14 are on the other hand caused by the clubs 1 that are also coming towards them

any deposits of regrind.
In order to effectively intercept ground material parts thrown through the opening 8, an impact body 19 is arranged in an extension 18 of the connecting piece 10, which deflects the impacting parts downwards again.
As already indicated, the drawings represent an embodiment; Of course, you can also make various changes while maintaining the principles of the invention, so you can, for example, provide separate openings for the entry of the wind and the supply of the material to be ground and the like. like m.
The formation of the bulges 15 and 16 by a U-shaped housing with a flat cover attached to it also allows a simple structural design of the housing and enables the same to be conveniently opened by removing the cover 7. Since this is also subject to considerable wear and tear, can also it can be replaced in a simple manner.
The mill is suitable for different types of grist, it is used with advantage for those with a high specific weight, especially when it comes to the grinding of metals.
