If you now connect the primary winding to an electrical network of z. B. 220 volts, the discharge tube is ignited; namely while the voltage between the main electrodes of the tube is relatively low and z. B. 50 volts between the anode and the cathode, the capacitive discharge has the mains voltage of 220 volts between the ungrounded end of the primary transformer winding and the liquid 2.
The invention makes it superfluous to attach special auxiliary electrodes for ignition, and in the example described, no special manipulation is necessary even to ignite the discharge tube; the auxiliary discharge is initiated by simply letting the earthed liquid flow into the tube.
PATENT CLAIMS:
1. A method for igniting an electric discharge tube, characterized in that a
Auxiliary discharge between one of the electrodes and a liquid used in the tube operation, e.g. B. a cooling liquid or an irradiation liquid is produced.
2. Electrical system that contains an electrical discharge tube, in whose operation a liquid, e.g. B. a cooling liquid or an irradiation liquid is used, and which is suitable for performing the method according to claim 1.
