Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

  Anordnung zum Schnellregeln eines Gleichstromfeldes.
 EMI1.1

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

  Arrangement for rapid regulation of a direct current field.
 EMI1.1

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 In this way, as the diagram in FIG. 2 shows, the new control stage can be reached in a significantly shorter time than before.

   In this diagram, the magnitude voltage B and current i are plotted as a function of time t. Curve a indicates how the current in winding 2 is up to reaching the new control stage d
 EMI2.1
 the parallel branch is still active. In order to take into account the voltage drop that is caused by the current flowing through this branch in the upstream resistors, the voltage b must be selected to be higher. Thus, at the beginning there is a comparatively very high voltage available for the excitation winding 2, which results in a rapid increase in the excitation current. Gradually, however, the current of the parallel branch also increases and causes a corresponding voltage drop in resistors 4 and 5 (curve b).

   If the current distribution in both branches is taken into account, curve c indicates the actual course of the excitation current effective in winding 2. By comparing curves a and c, one can easily see the time difference that exists when the new control stage d is reached. Since the machine 1 serves as the exciter machine for the actual main exciter winding 7 of a generator, the shortening of time achieved by curve c will also make itself felt in the main exciter circuits in the faster increase in the current intensity in the winding 7.

   A further example of the invention is shown in FIG. 3. The exciter 1 again has the winding 2, which is fed by the current source 6 via the control device J. In the parallel circuit to the field winding 2 there is a choke coil 8 of high inductivity and a second field winding 9 connected in the opposite direction to the winding 2. The resistor 4 is conveniently connected behind the branch for the winding 9, but before the field winding 2. The mode of operation is as follows: the current in winding 2 rises very quickly, while the current in winding 9 increases slowly. The resulting excitation current effective for the field rises and falls similarly to the current according to curve c in FIG. 2.

   The processes of de-excitation take place quite similarly, only the other way around as before; even with de-excitation, the control time is shortened considerably.
