Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

Einseitig undurchlässige Wattelage, insbesondere fiir me (lizinische Zwecke.

One-sided impermeable wadding, especially for medical purposes.

The invention relates to layers made impermeable on one side of all types of cotton wool customary in trade, such as cotton wool, cotton wool and the like. Like., And dag methods for their preparation.

When using cotton wool layers, it was previously necessary, especially in medicine, to use a special moisture-impermeable protective material, such as. B. Mosetig- or Billrothbatist to use the z. B. with bandages the penetration of blood, secretions or the like prevented or
 EMI1.1

Only when using cellulose wadding has a uniform dressing material been proposed insofar as it should consist of a thin cellulose layer completely soaked with rubber or rubber-like solutions, to which several pure cellulose layers were glued as an absorbent dressing material before they were dried.

On the other hand, thin layers of cotton wool, rubberized through and through, have also been used as waterproof carriers for medicated plasters.
 EMI1.2
a waterproof layer of unvulcanized or vulcanized rubber or the like. Material is provided in this way. that the outer fibers of the respective side of the wadding are intimately connected with the layer and that the remaining fibers are held by the existing felting.

To produce such a wadding layer, according to the invention, a rubber solution, possibly a suitable lacquer or other binder solution, is finely atomized by means of a spraying process, advantageously applied by machine. If necessary, the spraying can be repeated until the effect of sufficient strength and impermeability of the layer produced in this way is achieved. With this layer it is also possible to use special strength-giving or sealing fabrics, such as rubberized batiste, lacquer and wax fabrics and the like. Like., be connected.

Applied rubber layers can be vulcanized afterwards.

It goes without saying that these impermeable layers can be made from material that is as transparent as possible or any colored material.

   PATENT CLAIMS:
1. One-sided impermeable wadding, in particular for medical purposes, characterized in that the wadding itself is provided on one side with a waterproof layer of unvulcanized or vulcanized rubber or the like material in such a way that the outer fibers of the respective side of the wadding are covered with the layer are intimately connected and the remaining fibers hold by the existing felting.
