Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

 EMI2.1
 stattet.

    Erfindungsgemäss wird das dadurch erreicht, dass der Antriebsmotor mit an seiner vorderen Stirnseite angeflanschtem Schaltgetriebe über der hinteren Fahrachse und das Hilfsaggregat hinter dem Antriebsmotor angeordnet ist.

 <Desc/Clms Page number 3>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 4>

 <Desc/Clms Page number 5>

Hilfsaggregat 17, hier einer Löschmittelpumpe, her.

Fig. l.

 <Desc/Clms Page number 6>

   <Desc / Clms Page number 1>

   The invention relates to a drive arrangement for an emergency vehicle with a drive motor unit accommodated in the rear half of the vehicle, an intermediate gear in front of it and an auxiliary unit. Emergency vehicles are primarily fire-fighting vehicles, but also mountains cleaning vehicles or other municipal vehicles.

   In such vehicles, the best use of space with good driving characteristics, which is best suited to the intended use, must be agreed, both for fast road travel and in the field. This also requires appropriate drive arrangements, which should also be so flexible that a chassis can be adapted to different variants and uses.

  A drive arrangement for one of the purposes described is known from DE-OS 35 27 150. In this case, the drive motor is initially only connected to a transmission module in which the drive forces are first directed to one arranged in the bow of the vehicle
Extinguishing agent pump and be distributed on the front and rear drive axle. This arrangement offers when the
Fire water tanks in the center of the vehicle, optimal weight distribution.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

  The gear module is a very complex and bulky
Special design because it combines the functions of manual gearbox and transfer case for the pump drive and, moreover, for the axle drive in one assembly. Its space requirement in
The center of the vehicle significantly reduces the usable space. In addition, the only transfer-related transfer (the pump is designed for engine speed) provides the transfer required for the pump
Performance through the transmission module represents an avoidable additional stress for this and a loss of performance.

   In addition, the arrangement of the pump for the extinguishing agent in the bow area of the vehicle is controversial for reasons of fire fighting: the hose drums are located in the rear area of the vehicle and accessibility is sometimes insufficient, which is why the pump can also be extended to the front. Another disadvantage of the pump located in the bow is that it is not possible to use a standard cab. Finally, in an extreme case, the motor arrangement in the rear half of the vehicle reduces that for the hose reels in the rear
Available space and in the other extreme case for that
Extinguishing water available in the center of the vehicle. This space requirement is further increased by bulky engine ancillaries such as - air filter, radiator and exhaust.

   The invention is therefore based on the object of proposing a drive arrangement which, with optimum weight distribution, the use of simple standard components and the best
Space utilization of an emergency vehicle equipped with it

 equips.

    According to the invention, this is achieved in that the drive motor is arranged with the gearbox flanged on its front end face above the rear driving axle and the auxiliary unit is arranged behind the drive motor.

 <Desc / Clms Page number 3>

   The former means that the longitudinal drive motor in the
Vehicle area is housed, the clear cross section through the rear axle and the wheel arches is already reduced.

   This benefits the water tanks and leaves enough space in the rear for the hose reels and the pump, which are also directly adjacent. The arrangement of the pump behind the
The drive motor again has the advantage that the full motor torque can be transferred to the pump and that the entire traction drive system is not used in pump operation.

   With this arrangement, a standard driver's cab, which does not even have to be tiltable, and a relatively small and standard intermediate gearbox can also be used. It is also easy, depending on the choice of the intermediate gear, to offer a two-wheel or a four-wheel drive version.

   In the latter case, the intermediate gear is a distributor gear, from which drive shafts to the two can be driven
Lead driving axes (claim 2). To adapt to other applications, a further power take-off can be made on the transfer case for another one arranged on the front of the vehicle
Auxiliary unit (such as a winch) can be provided (claim
3). Depending on the design of the transfer case, the power take-off can be an oil pump for an additional auxiliary unit driven by compressed oil or a light propeller shaft.

   There are various options for the connection between the rear of the drive motor and the auxiliary unit, for example an extinguishing agent pump. Connection by means of a
PTO shaft (claim 4) offers the advantage of flexibility in the selection of the auxiliary unit and decouples vibrations

 <Desc / Clms Page number 4>

 the area occupied by the motor is considerable and the space is used that would otherwise be lost and also thermally stressed.

   The invention further relates to an emergency vehicle with a drive arrangement according to the invention, in which the most practical and good use of space is to be achieved.

     According to the invention, the extinguishing agent tank is located between the two driving axles and the extinguishing agent pump and the
Hose reels in the rear of the vehicle (claim 6). It is particularly advantageous to equip the vehicle body above the wheels of the rear driving axle with boxes that can be swung out to the side. This not only creates additional storage space for tools and equipment in an otherwise unused room, but also ensures that the

Figure 2.

   The chassis shown in FIG. 1 is formed by a frame 1 with a front axle 2 and a rear axle 3. The axes 2, 3 are supported by leaf springs, not shown

Spring brackets 4, 5 and are guided by stabilizers 6, 7.

   A steering gear designated 8 is only hinted at.

   In this chassis 1 is a drive motor 10 with flanged
Manual transmission 11 is supported in the usual way, possibly inclined slightly forward-downward. On the one hand, it drives a transfer case 13 via a first drive shaft 12. From this a second drive shaft 14 leads to the rear axle 3 and possibly a third drive shaft 15 to the front axle 2 Coupling, drive shaft 16 connected to the crankshaft the drive connection to one
Auxiliary unit 17, here an extinguishing agent pump. An oil pump 18 for supplying a further additional device, not shown, can also be flanged to the distributor gear 13.

   Finally located above the drive motor
10 another filter 20 for the intake of combustion air
Radiator 21 with fan and an exhaust 22nd

   The chassis in FIG. 2 is essentially the same as in FIG
Fig. L. It differs from this only in that
Transfer case still a fifth drive shaft 28 for driving a cable winch 29 (Figure 3) or other additional - leads with relatively low power consumption. Here, however, the structure is added, whereby the good use of space in the entire vehicle is evident in FIGS.

   30 designates a large-capacity cabin, which can be standard and does not have to be tiltable, because there are no units requiring maintenance below it. The (or the) water tank (s) 32 is first accommodated in the structure 31 adjoining it at the rear. It can fill the entire middle room; unconstrained by the engine or an extensive transmission module, or, as shown, step back in favor of equipment compartments 36 in the rear part. In the rear are the pump 17 and
Hose reels 34 housed. There is also a container 33 directly above the pump, for example for fire-fighting foam.

   In the room

 <Desc / Clms Page number 6>

 Between the water tank 32 and the pump 17, the drive motor 10 is arranged between the supports of the frame 11, and there is also a coarse air filter 35 above it. They use the space above the wheel arches and, when open, allow 37 'easy access to the drive motor.
