  VerfahrenzurHerstellungvonZiegeln.

Process for the manufacture of bricks.

The invention relates to a method for producing bricks.

It is known. that there are difficulties to be overcome in drying bricks. which consist in avoiding any deformation of the finished bricks.

The subject of the invention is now a method for the rapid manufacture of bricks by means of which these difficulties are eliminated.

It has been suggested in the dry molding of clay. Clay. refractory clay and similar material, to moisten the fabric prepared by grinding and sieving to a water content of 5% and to heat the moistened mixture until the evolved vapor has expelled the air from the material and then to form the same in this state, whereupon the Objects deformed in a warm state are placed in an oven for final drying.

Attempts have also been made to manufacture bricks in this way using the dry forming process. After mixing and heating the raw clay in a rotating mixer until the moisture had largely evaporated and the air was expelled at the same time, the raw clay was placed on a sieve, from where the finer material passed through a hopper into the molding press. in which the warm clay was formed and treated with steam at the same time, until finally the finished bricks were brought into a brick kiln for firing.

which must be removed before molding to prevent subsequent deformation of the products.

In making charcoal from peat, it has been proposed to treat the peat in a steam heated press from which the material is pushed out and cut into bricks as it exits the press, which are then conveyed to a drying chamber.

The invention now relates to a method for producing bricks in which the wet clay is heated before and during the pressing process. and consists in that the damp clay with one

In carrying out the invention, the mixture of clay and water is passed through a pressing or squeezing device after previous heating to approximately 95 ° C., which is heated to the same temperature by a hot water jacket. The mass comes out of the pressing device in the form of an endless strand the temperature of 95 C out of the brick of the desired shape and size are cut, which are immediately introduced into a drying oven already heated to the same temperature as the brick.
