Description

  Electrically heatable seating.

Heatable seating furniture, which is used to warm the back and also the hollow of the knees of the user, is known, in which the backrest and the seat of the furniture are heated by circulating hot water. This furniture has the disadvantage that it is connected to a hot water pipe and tied to a fixed position and that the necessary elasticity is deprived of the furniture, in particular due to the necessary use of rigid radiators. The invention relates to an electrically heatable piece of furniture in which heating wires arranged in the covering are used.

According to the invention, the upholstered seat provided with electrical heating wires is transformed into upholstery which protrudes in a known manner on the seat side, also contains heating wires and hugs the hollow of the user's knees. This embodiment has the advantage that the blood circulation at the hollow of the knee, which has a decisive effect on heating the lower body parts, is fed with heat. H. in a place where the main veins are almost immediately under the skin and are not covered by stronger muscles, so that the action of the heating means on the veins is strongest here.

It is heated from the inside by the blood as a heat carrier, and the blood carries the heat like a central heating to the most distant places, especially to the feet, which are wearing highly insulating clothing. In doing so, the blood circulation is increased in a health-promoting manner, and disease substances are carried away by the increased blood circulation, just as in diathermy. Known temperature regulators are advantageously provided in connection with the heating wires, which automatically switch off the current when a certain degree of warmth is reached and, on the other hand, switch it on again automatically when it cools down. The invention can also be used in particular for automobiles, aircraft, trains and other vehicles.

In the case of room furniture, the heating elements can be fed from the electric light cable and in vehicles from the alternator, which supplies a low-voltage constant voltage.

The subject matter of the invention is shown in an exemplary embodiment in the drawing. u. between shows:
Fig. 1 is a side view of an upholstered chair? and FIG. 2 is a front view of the chair according to FIG.

The insulated heating wires sewn in between sheets of fabric are indicated in the drawing by dashed lines. The wires are embedded in the upholstered seat and in particular in the protruding upholstery g that hugs the hollows of the knees and, on the other hand, also in the backrest cl.

Automatic temperature regulators are also provided in the upholstery. f represents a switch for weak, medium and stronger heating and h represents a socket. The power could also be switched on by the person using the seating furniture operating a switch from their feet or by placing them on the furniture.

     PATENT CLAIMS:
1. Electrically heatable seating, in which heating wires arranged in the covering are used, characterized in that the upholstered seat provided with electrical heating wires merges into an upholstery projecting in a known manner on the side of the seat, also containing heating wires and hugging the hollow of the user's knees as closely as possible.
