  Lid for cap boxes.

With the so-called cap boxes, such as those used to hold cigarettes, there is the disadvantage that the side parts of the cardboard box bend outwards when the adhesive paper is stuck on, so that the edges of the lid protrude slightly from the box base.

The reason for this is that the side parts of the lid produced by pulling represent clamped supports which, if they swell when moistened by the adhesive liquid, have no possibility of freely expanding in their longitudinal direction.

According to the invention, this inconvenience is avoided in that slots are provided in the side parts of the cardboard box, which allow these side parts to expand freely in accordance with the swelling process occurring when the adhesive is applied. The side parts then no longer bulge outwards, but lie perfectly on the lower part of the shell.

In the drawing, the subject matter of the invention is shown in two exemplary embodiments.
