<Desc / Clms Page number 1>
Pesticide that produces hydrogen sulfide and carbon monoxide by burning.
The parent patent no. 122480 protects hydrogen sulfide and carbon oxide supplying pesticides by burning, which are made from metal-free, preferably powdered
EMI1.1
z. B. of Fe. The degree of the iron powder and the amount added also have a regulating effect on the rate of combustion and ensure the continuity of the burn by facilitating the propagation of heat. An incendiary device according to the invention can, for. B. approximately the following composition
EMI1.2
The basic mixtures given above, for example, can be added according to additives which promote the formation of poisonous gases or give rise to the formation of other poisonous gases or which are able to exert other beneficial effects, e.g. B. Substances that are capable of generating smoke, such. B. tarry distillation products of organic compounds u. Like. Or which look undecomposed or with decomposition during the combustion process and can thus act as auxiliary poisons, such as B. naphthalene. Camphor, paradichlorobenzene, hexachloroethane, arsenic compounds and the like. like
EMI1.3
can be combined into solid products.
When these known mixtures burn off, sulphides of the metals mentioned are formed, which are then decomposed under the influence of air humidity, soil moisture or also by the action of water vapor formed during the burn-off, releasing hydrogen sulphide.
The present invention differs from these known pesticides, as does the subject matter of the parent patent, in that hydrogen sulfide and carbon oxide are supplied immediately when they are burned off. While in the known process the light metals, such as aluminum, are indispensable reaction components which must be capable of supplying easily decomposable sulfides by water, they are in the present invention
EMI1.4
The use of easily decomposable sulfide-forming light metals such as aluminum and magnesium.
Calcium and The like is expressly excluded from the present invention.
