Insulation and spacer material for electrical apparatus.
It is known to provide electrical conductors with a coating of lacquer by, for example, passing the conductors through a lacquer bath one or more times. Lately there has been a move towards making Laek films and using them instead of paper as insulation material for copper conductors, whereby it is advantageous to first apply a layer of liquid lacquer to the conductor and then wrap it with the film and allow it to dry. The advantages of lacquer films compared to paper or other fibrous material are mainly the significantly higher dielectric strength, the greater tensile strength, the films are not hygroscopic and can be easily glued using liquid lacquer, whereby the liquid lacquer bonds so closely with the film that a practically homogeneous mass is created.
This latter property is to be exploited even further, particularly by the invention, in order to replace parts in electrical machines and apparatuses previously made of hard paper, pressboard, etc. with paint. For example, coil bandages, insulating cylinders, insulating washers, angle rings, cylinders with end flanges, pressure rings, support strips, etc. come into consideration . After drying, this bandage represents a uniform whole. Insulating cylinders etc. can be manufactured in a corresponding manner.
In the manufacture of angle rings, the shaft parts can be cut off from a cylinder produced by winding wide strips of film and the flange parts can be punched or cut from a plate also made of several layers. Both parts are then glued together using liquid varnish.
The invention can be applied to air-insulated or oil-insulated apparatus, depending on the type of lacquer used.
PATENT CLAIMS:
