The invention relates to a device for measuring vibrations on machines, foundations, etc., which allows the vibrations to be measured according to frequency and size by means of a tunable tongue. According to the invention, the tongue is assigned two perpendicular divisions, one of which is used to display the frequency when resonance is set with the vibrations to be measured by tuning the tongue, while the other is placed in the vibration plane of the tongue after rotating the vibration meter Axis up to the maximum deflection allowed to read this.

The oscillating tongue, together with the two partitions, is expediently rotatably mounted in its base body, so that the latter can remain firmly connected to the machine part or foundation, etc. to be examined.

In the drawing, the subject matter of the invention is shown schematically in an exemplary embodiment. Fig. 1 shows a vibration meter in front and side views. Fig. 2 shows the vibrations of a foundation cheek graphically.

A leaf spring B is attached to a base body A and can swing in front of the graduation carrier C, which is also attached to the base body A. A weight D is arranged displaceably on the leaf spring B and, by changing its position, allows the spring B to be adjusted to resonance with the vibrations to be measured. A pointer E provided on the weight D allows the position of the weight to be read on the graduation parallel to the leaf spring, which reading gives a measure of the oscillation frequency of the spring. The second, circular segment-shaped division on the carrier C shows the vibration amplitude of the spring, which is proportional to the strength of the vibration, in the measuring direction indicated by the arrow, the end of the spring B itself serving as a pointer.

The tuning to resonance can also be effected by changing the freely oscillating tongue length, whereby the measuring range of the same tongue can be increased accordingly by exchangeable additional weights. Furthermore, several adjustable tongues with different measuring ranges can be provided on the same base body in order to enlarge the measuring range, but only one is always used for setting and determining the frequency.

Fig. 2 shows the vibrations of a foundation cheek of a turbo generator. The deflections of the spring are plotted over the relevant measuring points in order to obtain a clear picture of the occurring vibrations.

For use, the device is pressed against the area to be examined with its base body by hand and the spring is tuned until its greatest deflection occurs. If the device is tuned in this way, it can be attached to other measuring points. The size of the respective deflection of the spring is then a measure of the strength of the vibrations at the relevant point. By stopping the device in different directions or turning the vibrating part in its base body, you can also determine the direction of vibration of the part to be examined.
