Kleintiertoilette
<Desc/Clms Page number 2>

Small animal toilet
The invention relates to an automatic small animal toilet which is preferably used in metropolitan areas, where there is a known lack of free space for the need to relieve the small animals, especially cats.
Such toilets come in a wide variety of designs, but require expensive and waste-intensive spreading materials. Another disadvantage of these sprinkles is that they get caught in the paws of cats and small animals and are thus scattered from the toilet into the living room. Furthermore, such toilets have to be emptied and cleaned manually.
EP 0 558 786 A1 describes a sanitary facility for dogs and cats, which essentially consists of a flat horizontal part of the user area and a vertical part of the storage space. Dosing container and a dosing and rinsing device and an electrical control. If there is a cat in the user area of the sanitary facility, this is registered by the control of the facility via a monitoring device, which, when the cat leaves the sanitary facility, rinses the spreading material from the user area via a siphon and a pipe system into the sewage system. The user area is then filled with new spreading material via a metering device. This seems to be an optimal solution for an automatic dog and cat toilet.
However, if you consider that a cat whose toilet is a simple version that is cleaned manually d. H. only the contaminated part of the spreading material is removed, approx. 400 l of spreading material is required per year, so one must assume that automatic systems consume at least twice.
The object of the invention was to avoid the above disadvantages and to implement the most environmentally friendly system possible.
This is achieved in that a covering made of plastic, rubber or the like is used instead of the spreading agent, which is joined together to form an endless belt and is guided in the manner of a conveyor belt via a drive, deflection and support roller.
In order to take into account the claw drive of the small animals, the conveyor belt-like covering is provided with knobs, which are located on the side of the covering facing away from the rollers. The knobs also prevent the small animals from standing in their own urine while urinating. This device is mounted in a container-like housing, in which there are spray pipes and suction pump.
<Desc / Clms Page number 2>
In a preferred embodiment, the conveyor belt-like covering is provided with sieve-like bores, as a result of which the urine can drain into a urine trough provided for this purpose.
After using the toilet, the covering is transported in a time-controlled manner like a conveyor belt with an electric drive connected via a contact, whereby the dirty covering surface reaches the lower part of the toilet via the deflection roller and is cleaned by means of a spray pipe. During this process, the manure lying on the covering is transported to a separate removable container by a scraper and the urine is pumped into the sewage system with the cleaning water.
After the cleaning program has ended, the small animal toilet is immediately ready for use again, making it possible for several small animals to use it under the best possible hygienic conditions.
Because the urine, which is the main cause of persistent odor nuisance, is immediately rinsed off and pumped out, manual activity is limited to emptying the removable fecal container.
In addition to the costs, this small animal toilet eliminates the need to dispose of and dispose of grit, which in turn has a positive effect on waste disposal and thus on the environment.
The invention will be explained in more detail using an exemplary embodiment.
1 shows a small animal toilet in a 3D view. FIG. 2 shows a small animal toilet in section A-A. FIG. 3 shows a schematic representation of the control of a small animal toilet
1 shows a 3D view of the structure of the small animal toilet. It has a container-like housing 1 with a connected removable manure container 2. In the container-like housing 1, the conveyor belt-like covering 4 with the knobs 5 and on the outside of the drive 3 as well as the water connection piece 22 and the waste water connection piece 23 is shown schematically.
In Fig. 2 the small animal toilet is shown in side view in section A-A.
In the upper part of the container-like housing 1 there is the drive roller 7, the deflecting roller 8 and the support roller 9 with the conveyor belt-like covering 4 with the knobs 5 of the running direction 21 mounted there between 17, the switching element 16 and the urine trough 14 connected to the side walls of the container-like housing 1 are shown with the outlet connection 6.
<Desc / Clms Page number 3>
The spray pipes 10, as well as the waste water pump 11 and the overflow protection switch 15 are arranged in the lower region of the small animal toilet. In the right transition area between the container-like housing 1 and the manure container 2, the scraper strip 12 is attached to the conveyor belt-like covering 4 with the knobs 5 resting on it.
In Fig. 3 the small animal toilet with the controller 19, the solenoid valve 18, is shown in a flow chart. When the small animal toilet is used, the weight of the animal presses the conveyor belt-like covering 4, which is transferred to the spring-mounted sliding plate 13 located underneath, whereby the switching mechanism 16 transmits a control signal to the controller 19. If the animal leaves the small animal toilet, the spring-mounted sliding plate is returned to the original position by the spring element 17 and the control signal from the switching mechanism is interrupted again. Due to this interruption, the cleaning program is started after a lead time.
Here, the drive 3, which moves the conveyor belt-like covering 4 via the drive roller 7 in the running direction 21, is switched on. At the same time, the solenoid valve 18 is opened and the spray tubes 10 are supplied with water, and the sewage pump is started.
When moving forward in the direction of travel 21, the soiled part of the conveyor belt-like covering 4 passes via the deflection roller 8 into the lower region of the small animal toilet, the manure resting on the knobs 5 being conveyed into the manure container 2 via the scraper 12. At the same time, the conveyor belt-like covering is cleaned by means of the spray pipes 10. The resulting cleaning water is pumped into the sewage system with the urine, which is conducted from the urine trough 14 into the lower region of the small animal toilet via the drainage pipe 6, with the sewage pump 11 via the sewage line 20.
During this process, the fill level in the small animal toilet is monitored by an overflow protection switch 15 which, when a certain level is exceeded, sends a signal to the controller 19, which in turn closes the solenoid valve 18. After the cleaning program, which is preferably time-controlled, has expired, the controller 19 closes the solenoid valve 18 and interrupts the circuit from the waste water pump 11 and the drive 3.
