 <Desc/Clms Page number 2>

  Leuehtkörper for advertising, signaling purposes u. Like., In particular electrical lighting.

   For the composition of neon signs one uses previously customary illuminants such. B.

  Incandescent lamps, which are not only completely ineffective in daylight, but also look unattractive. In order to receive day and night advertising, mirrors with transparencies or correspondingly shaped mirrors - which can also be provided with ribs or corrugations - are indirectly illuminated by means of luminous bodies arranged in front of them, but this has the disadvantage that one only has a small one A light effect is achieved and, moreover, is tied to the shape of the mirror in the event of any necessary changes to the advertisement.

   The object of the invention is now a luminous element, which avoids the aforementioned deficiencies in that its light source is preceded by a reflective layer that reflects the light incident from the outside but transmits the light emanating from the light source Light dispenser acts as a mirror during the day.

   In the drawing, several exemplary embodiments of the subject invention are shown, u. FIGS. 1-10 show six different configurations of incandescent lamps with the reflective coating applied directly to the glass bulb in the side or. Front view. 11 illustrates an incandescent lamp in side view with the mirror provided in the interior of the lamp bulb, FIG. 12 shows a letter composed of incandescent lamps, and FIGS. 13 and 14 show an incandescent lamp designed according to the invention on which a transparency is attached, in side or

  Front view.

   The filament, e.g. B. the incandescent lamp according to FIGS. 1 and 2 is particularly suitable for those advertisements in which the incandescent lamps are combined to form light fields and therefore only the front surface of the incandescent lamps comes into its own. The opposite of the socket part 1 of the lamp balloon is flat or slightly curved and provided with a mirror coating, which on the one hand reflects the light from the outside, on the other hand that of the light source, z. B. from the filament, emitted light can escape unhindered, whereby the luminous body is effective as a mirror in addition to its usual use as a light source for daylight. To be particularly suitable for the desired purpose, for.

   B. a platinum deposit formed from platinum chloride, which absorbs little light and therefore only imperceptibly affects the luminosity of the luminous element. Special lighting effects are achieved when the covered part 1 of the balloon is divided by steps, ribs 2 (Fig. 1 and 2) or with corrugations 3 or the like. (Fig. 5 and 6) is provided by the steps 2 or corrugations 3 both increase the reflection effect for the light falling from the outside and also scatter the light from the light source in the manner of prisms or lenses, which is why the part of the luminous element formed in this way appears as a uniformly luminous surface in outdoor or indoor lighting.

   The incandescent lamp according to FIGS. 3 and 4 can be used to frame the light fields and has, for. B. a cube-shaped incandescent lamp body, the front surface as well as the side surfaces are ribbed and provided with the coating 2 according to the invention. If the incandescent lamp is to be used to surround plug-in signs and thus be placed in a standing or hanging arrangement, it is sufficient if only the side surfaces of the incandescent lamp body, which is roughly in the form of a cuboid, are provided with ribbed mirrors 2, as can be seen from FIGS. 7 and 8 is.

   The embodiment of the incandescent lamp illustrated in FIG. 9 is particularly suitable in those cases in which the location would require the lamp sockets to be positioned at an angle,

 <Desc / Clms Page number 2>

 to make the advertisement correspondingly visible to the viewer. Since the front surface 4 provided with the covering is arranged at an oblique angle to the lamp axis, the lamp acts as an inclined mirror which deflects the rays in the desired direction without the sockets having to be located in this direction. To increase the lighting effect, the inclined surface can again be provided with ribs 5 (FIG. 10).

   For the same purpose, according to the embodiment shown in FIG. 11, the reflective coating can be provided on a plate 6 housed inside an otherwise conventionally designed incandescent lamp, and the plate can also be connected to the incandescent lamp from the outside. If in the latter case the plate is placed on a conventional incandescent lamp, e.g. B. by attaching, so it can be rotated around the lamp envelope in order to achieve the most favorable angle of incidence of light.

   A letter composed of incandescent lamps 7 can be seen from FIG. If the incandescent lamps have a circular cross-section, the spaces between them are expediently filled with filler pieces 8, e.g. B. od from ribbed sheet metal. Like., Covered. If, on the other hand, incandescent lamps with an angular cross section are used, the lamps can be distributed in such a way that there are no gaps at all.

   Transparencies 9 can also be placed on the incandescent lamps, as can be seen from FIGS. 13 and 14.

   If the reflective coating is attached to the outer surface of the lamp body, its inner surface can be matted, whereby diffuse light is likewise achieved.
