Process for the production of spot courts, especially tennis courts, sidewalks and the like. like
The invention relates to a method for producing the playing surface of sports fields, in particular tennis courts, the walking surface of paths, etc. It is located in the fact that the surface, made in a known manner of crumbly or powdery burnt clay, is coated with mountain powder, d. i. Diatomaceous pelite consisting essentially of amorphous silica. is mixed. Diatomaceous pelite has the property of forming a plastic mass with water, which yields elastically when stepped on and keeps the water sucked in for a long time. so that the playground remains elastic for a long time while maintaining great strength and does not become dusty. The surface acts like a dry surface when it is permeated with moisture because the sprinkling or rainwater is quickly sucked inwards.
The plastic diatomaceous mass binds the clay material to form a uniform, elastic surface. If naturally colored mountain meal is used, especially red mountain meal, its color adapts to the color of the fired clay and offers the eyes a uniform, red, non-marking surface. If a particularly solid surface is desired, then small amounts of a hardening binder are added to the clay-mountain meal mixture, e.g. B. dissolved potassium silicate or sodium silicate, cement, lime mortar or the like. Excessively large amounts of hardening binding agent prove to be inexpedient because the playground is then given a stone-like texture, while the small addition brings about a strengthening, while still maintaining the necessary plasticity.
The weight ratios between fired clay and diatom pelite are very different.
EMI1.1
The method is particularly suitable for the production of tennis courts.
