   Die Wirkungsweise des Wasserdruckmotors ist folgende : Gemäss der Stellung des Kolbens nach Fig. 2 tritt, nachdem das steuerorgan 3 durch die vom Exzenter 14 betätigte Steuerstange verstellt wurde, das Wasser in den Zylinderraum ein und übt einen Druck auf den Kolben aus. Durch den herrschenden Wasserdruck wird unter   Überwindung   der Kraft der Ventilfeder   1. 3   die Öffnung des Kolbens durch   Andrücken   des   Ventilkopfes   11 verschlossen gehalten, und es steht daher beim Arbeitshub des Kolbens die volle   Kolbenfläche   zur Verfügung. Der Kolben wird vom Druckwasser so weit verschoben, bis sein vorderer Rand knapp vor den Beginn der Zylinderschlitze 5 zu liegen kommt (Fig. 3), in welchem Momente das Steuerorgan 3 unter der Wirkung des Exzenters 14 die Wasserzufuhr absperrt.

   Durch die Wirkung des auf der Kurbelwelle aufgekeilten Schwungrades wird der Kolben   zum t1Jerschleifen   der   Auslassschlitze   5 veranlasst (Fig. 4). Bei mehrzylindrigen Maschinen erfolgt dies durch den Arbeitshub im   nächstfolgenden   Zylinder. Beim Überschleifen der   Wasseraustrittsöffnungen   der Zylinderwand 5
