Description

   <Desc/Clms Page number 1>

  Method of telegraphing and telephoning by means of electrical waves.

   The invention relates to a further embodiment of the method according to patent no. 129549, in which the transmitter, in addition to the carrier wave modulated by the symbol wave, also emits a second Ull-modulated high-frequency wave and its essence is that the difference between the frequencies of the modulated and the unmodulated wave is above the audible range.

   This interference wave lying above the audible range is now received in a receiving device tuned to its frequency and its modulations are made audible or recognizable as other characters.

   With this reception one is bound to one and the same interference wave frequency for all receiving devices. However, for secret reception, district reception and in particular in two-way traffic, it is of considerable advantage not to transmit the superimposed wave by means of the transmitter sending the modulated wave, but rather to generate it by a transmitter at a location different from the transmission location, according to the present embodiment of the invention. In this way, suffice can be found for several transmitters with a single transmitter radiating the heterodyne wave.

   When arranging a transmitter and a locally different superimposer, these can of course also swap their function, so that both can be received alternately with one receiving device. The method is particularly valuable for intercom traffic, where the own transmitter is used as an overlay for reception.

   In the drawing, the device according to the invention is shown schematically in two exemplary embodiments.

   1 shows the case where two transmitters 1, 1 'transmit at any distance from the tunable receiving device 4 at a constant frequency that differs from one another, while the receiving device can be tuned to the incoming transmitter waves and the interference wave generated therefrom.

   Since the superimposed wave is very close to the transmitter wave, it is possible to pick up both transmitter waves 1 and 1 'through a circle. One of the transmitters 1 or 1 'can also be used as an overlay for third transmitters.

   Fig. 2 shows a system used for transmission and reception. The adapter 1 is built here as a transmitter with a constant wave and relatively high energy, which is fed by the battery 7 or the converter 8. In the case of reception, the transmitter serves as an overlay. The interference wave is amplified in the tunable device 4.
