In particular, the disadvantages that occur with incandescent lamps with high light outputs are reliably avoided. if the metallic parts of the base, the power supply wires located inside the base and the associated lamp holder are made of brass containing aluminum.
A special previously unrecognized advantage of aluminum-containing brass, which plays a major role in its use for bases and sockets of electric lamps, is also that it looks similar to copper and commercially available products when heated in air
EMI2.1
As with copper and standard brass, it grows in depth and leads to a constant reduction in electrical and thermal conductivity as well as complete destruction of the building material.
Under certain circumstances it is also sufficient if only some of these lamp parts, for example only the base or the base and the power supply wires or even only the metallic parts of the socket, consist of brass containing aluminum. The aluminum addition to brass can be used in

have very good electrical conductivity even if they reach temperatures of 500 () C and more in operation. Thermal conductivity and corrosion resistance, so that scaling does not occur, and they are far less detrimentally influenced by weather than lamp parts. which in the usual way made of ordinary brass. made of commercially available copper, iron, nickel or the like.
Furthermore, even if the base cement burns on, it is far less likely that the Soekel sleeve will tarnish. Since the aluminum-containing brass is easy to deform and can be easily made stress-free by tempering. so there is no fear of subsequent cracking in the corresponding lamp parts.
The invention can be used to advantage not only with electric incandescent lamps, but also with electric discharge lamps, in particular arc discharge lamps, and also with other highly loaded discharge tubes, such as, for example, hot cathode rectifiers and transmitter tubes.
